In GTA Online, buy the Widowmaker from the Gun Van when the van is stocking it. The Gun Van’s inventory rotates, so the weapon is not always available. The third-party reference database GTABase lists the price as GTA$449,000, as accessed on October 8, 2026. Older guides point to Ammu-Nation, but according to GTABase the weapon was removed from Ammu-Nation stock in December 2022, so that location no longer applies.
Where to buy the Widowmaker now
The Widowmaker is a GTA Online weapon, not a Story Mode purchase. Its current purchase route is the Gun Van, the mobile vendor that moves around the map and sells a rotating selection of weapons.

- Find the Gun Van icon on the in-game map.
- Travel to the van and open its weapon stock.
- Check whether the Widowmaker is listed in the van’s current rotation. If it is not, the weapon is not available at that moment, and you will need to check again later.

The table below compares the two purchase locations that appear in the sources reviewed.
| Purchase location | Status | Price |

Why older guides say Ammu-Nation
Rockstar Games’ Newswire post dated January 8, 2019, announced the Widowmaker’s arrival in GTA Online and said the weapons were available at your local Ammu-Nation. Rockstar’s official update notes for the same date confirm the weapon was added to GTA Online and sold at Ammu-Nation. Both describe the 2019 launch, not current stock, so any guide that still sends you to Ammu-Nation predates the December 2022 removal.
If you own the Widowmaker but cannot see it
Rockstar Support explains that a weapon can appear to be missing when it is excluded from a Custom Weapon Loadout. Check these in order:
Rank #2
- The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world ever created and now packed with layers of new detail
- Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game's three lead characters, playing all sides of the game's interwoven story
- Grand Theft Auto V also comes with Grand Theft Auto online, the dynamic and ever evolving Grand Theft Auto universe for multiple players
- Check your Gun Locker for the weapon.
- If it is not there, a Custom Weapon Loadout may be hiding it. Disable that loadout in the Interaction Menu so the weapon becomes available again.
What is and is not confirmed
- Confirmed: the Widowmaker is a GTA Online weapon, the Gun Van is its current listed purchase route, and Rockstar’s 2019 launch statements named Ammu-Nation.
- Not confirmed: the live Gun Van price on any given day, the rotation schedule that decides when the van stocks the weapon, and whether the weapon will return to Ammu-Nation.
