Nilla Dragon Eggs don’t come from one dependable source in Merge Dragons. The most concrete official odds are in Zynga’s Merge Dragons Help Center, where the Chance Chests table lists a Nilla Dragon Egg and a Nilla Dragon Egg Nest at 0.74% each. Other routes, including Egg Shop purchases with Dragon Gems, event reward tracks, Dragon Breeding, Time Travel Chests, Aventurine Mystery Nests and certain trophy taps, appear in community reference material. They differ sharply in how predictable they are, so it helps to know which ones are random and which ones show you the reward before you spend anything.
Official odds: Chance Chests and Egg Nests
Zynga’s Help Center publishes drop tables for several reward sources. Two of them list Nilla Dragon Eggs with a stated percentage. The listings we reviewed are undated, so treat the figures as the values Zynga currently publishes rather than as a permanent rate.
Chance Chests
The Chance Chests table gives a Nilla Dragon Egg and a Nilla Dragon Egg Nest each a 0.74% chance. These are two separate entries, so a chest can produce either one, and neither is guaranteed. At that rate you should expect many chest openings for a single egg, which is why the other routes below matter if you need one on a schedule.
Egg Nests
The Egg Nests table lists Nilla Dragon Eggs at 24.64291%. That is a much higher share than the Chance Chests figure, but the listing does not make clear which nest entry the percentage applies to. Read the table row by row before assuming the figure covers every nest you open.

The Den Chest help page is the only official page we found that speaks to what a chest will show you. Zynga states: “Den Dragon eggs are consistent and the exact number and type are shown in game.” That means the reward is not a random roll you have to guess at. Open the chest’s reward screen and read the egg type and quantity directly. The help page does not promise a Nilla egg from a Den Chest, so do not count one unless the game displays it.
Egg Shop, events and other routes
Egg Shop
The community breed reference lists the Egg Shop as a place to get Dragon Eggs with Dragon Gems. The reference does not give a price or say whether Nilla eggs are always stocked, so check the shop directly. Buying is the most direct route if you have gems to spare, but it is the only one of these routes that costs premium currency.

Event reward tracks
Nilla eggs appear in documented event reward tables. One Den Event table lists eggs at point thresholds and a Nilla nest further along the track. The Sugar Fruits table also lists Nilla eggs and a nest. These tables show what those events offered when they were documented. They are not a schedule, so they cannot tell you whether a given event is running now or will return. Event rewards are only available while the event is active, so check the event screen in game.
Dragon Breeding, Time Travel Chests and Aventurine Mystery Nests
The community breed reference also lists Dragon Breeding, Time Travel Chests and Aventurine Mystery Nests as sources with possible Nilla egg outcomes. The reference does not state chances for these, so you cannot compare them to the official percentages above. Treat them as occasional options rather than reliable ones.

Trophy taps
Tapping the level-two Crystal Pear or the level-two Comfy Flip Flops trophy items is also listed as a route to Nilla eggs. As with breeding and the mystery nests, the reference does not give odds.
Glacier Falls 11: a player report, not a guaranteed drop
Some players report farming treasure chests in Glacier Falls 11 for Nilla eggs. This is anecdotal advice. The report separates treasure chests from Dragon Egg Chests, and those are different items, so make sure you are opening the right one. The report does not establish a drop rate, and nothing in the official tables confirms it, so use it as a lead to test rather than a plan you can rely on.

- Open the event screen and check whether an event with Nilla rewards is running before you commit any resources to it.
- If you have spare Dragon Gems and need a specific egg now, check the Egg Shop for current stock and price.
- For chests, open the Den Chest reward screen and confirm the displayed egg type before claiming.
- For random sources, keep a simple count of openings so you can judge whether the published odds are holding in your own play.
No route is best in every case. The right choice depends on your current progress, how many gems you are willing to spend and whether you need the egg quickly.
