In Freemode, request an ordinary personal car with your in-game phone: Contacts > Mechanic, then choose the garage and vehicle. Check the map for its nearby spawn. If it is not listed, it may be stored elsewhere, destroyed, impounded, or assigned to a different vehicle service—each case has its own recovery route.
Request a car from the Mechanic
- Open the in-game phone in Freemode and select Contacts > Mechanic.
- Choose the mansion or garage where the car is stored. Select a floor if the game prompts you.
- Select the vehicle and check the map for its nearby spawn point.
Rockstar says there is a two-minute cooldown between Mechanic calls. Rockstar’s lost-vehicle guide covers the Mechanic and other recovery options.

If the car is not listed or does not appear
Check other garages and floors
The vehicle may be stored somewhere other than the garage you expect. On PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Enhanced, open Interaction Menu > Manage Vehicles > Vehicle Organization to inspect garage inventories and move vehicles between garages or floors. Rockstar specifies this menu route for those editions; it is not established here as available on every platform.
Recover a destroyed vehicle through Mors Mutual
Use the in-game phone: Contacts > Mors Mutual Insurance, then select the vehicle or Claim All. Rockstar says a claimed vehicle spawns at a Mors depot. Claim All is documented in Rockstar’s Title Update 1.67 notes. Those notes also specify free recovery when a personal vehicle is destroyed during a Contact Mission; do not assume that condition applies to every destruction.

Retrieve an impounded car
Go to the police impound lot. You can steal the car back, which triggers a two-star wanted level, or pay GTA$250 at the lot. If you are a CEO, call the Assistant and choose Recover vehicle from impound for a GTA$1,000 delivery. These amounts and options are listed in Rockstar’s lost-vehicle guide.
Use the service that owns or stores the vehicle
Terrorbyte and Oppressor Mk II
Open Interaction Menu > Services > Terrorbyte > Request Terrorbyte. An Oppressor Mk II stored inside the Terrorbyte can also be requested through this service.

Pegasus vehicles
Call Pegasus from the in-game phone’s Contacts, select the vehicle, then use Interaction Menu > Quick GPS > Pegasus Vehicle to locate the pickup.
Import/Export Special Vehicles
Rockstar lists eight Import/Export Special Vehicles that can be requested through Interaction Menu > Vehicles > Request Special Vehicle or retrieved in the Vehicle Warehouse. Rockstar says these vehicles are automatically replaced there if destroyed. See its Special Vehicle retrieval instructions.

Personal vehicle stored in a Mobile Operations Center
If the issue began after changing the MOC’s configuration, Rockstar’s case-specific recovery steps are:
- Make sure no personal vehicle is nearby.
- Register as a CEO or MC.
- Summon the MOC.
- Open Interaction Menu > Services > Mobile Operations Center > Request Personal Vehicle.
These steps come from Rockstar’s MOC-specific support instructions.

Check whether a garage change stored or deleted the car
You changed to a smaller garage
When a garage’s capacity is reduced, vehicles that exceed the new capacity are put in storage. Call the Mechanic and drive one into an available space, or switch to a garage with more capacity. Rockstar explains this process in its vehicle storage-capacity guidance.
You confirmed replacing a car in a full garage
This is different from reducing garage capacity. If you confirmed replacing an existing vehicle to make room in a full garage, Rockstar says the selected old vehicle was permanently removed from your inventory, not moved to another garage. See its guidance on replacing a vehicle in a full garage.
