Yes—the PS5 Pro is available for regular retail purchase, not just pre-order. Recent U.S. listings checked in August 2026 showed the 2TB console at PlayStation Direct, Best Buy, Walmart and Target for $899 to $899.99 before tax. That is a listing snapshot, not a promise of stock in every ZIP code: confirm the seller, delivery date or pickup location before paying. The standard PS5 Pro is digital-only; its disc drive and vertical stand are sold separately.
Where to buy the PS5 Pro now
The pre-order phase is no longer the relevant route. These retailers recently listed the console for ordinary purchase. Stock and fulfillment can change, so use the product pages to confirm what is available for your address or store.

PlayStation Direct: the straightforward first-party option
Choose Sony’s PlayStation Direct listing if you want to buy from Sony and avoid a third-party marketplace seller. The page displayed $899.00, while Sony’s announced U.S. recommended retail price is $899.99, effective April 2, 2026. The one-cent-under-a-dollar difference is a display discrepancy, not evidence of a meaningful discount. Sony advertises free standard delivery for PS5 Pro purchases; free express delivery for PlayStation Plus members may be offered subject to terms. Best Buy: useful when pickup matters
The recent Best Buy listing showed $899.99 and offered shipping and pickup for the selected location. Enter your ZIP code or choose a store before relying on that status. The page may also show open-box or other seller options; check that the unit is new and sold by Best Buy if that is what you intend to buy. A lower displayed price may be for an open-box console, not a sealed new one.
Walmart: check the seller line carefully
Walmart’s recent $899 listing showed low stock and identified Walmart.com as both seller and shipper. Inventory can disappear quickly, and Walmart search results may mix Walmart inventory with marketplace offers. Before checkout, verify the specific listing says sold and shipped by Walmart.com, then review its delivery date and return terms. Do not assume another PS5 Pro result on Walmart has the same fulfillment or protections.
Target: check your store or delivery ZIP
Target’s page recently showed the $899.99 console as in stock with an Add to cart option. Availability can change when you select a store or enter a delivery ZIP code. Eligible Target Circle Card purchases may qualify for a 5% saving under current terms; confirm the actual checkout total rather than treating that saving as universal.

Why the price appears as $899 or $899.99
Sony announced a U.S. PS5 Pro recommended retail price of $899.99, effective April 2, 2026. The recent PlayStation Direct and Walmart listings displayed $899.00, while Best Buy and Target displayed $899.99. Treat $899–$899.99 as the observed pre-tax price range, not as proof that either lower listing is a special deal. Tax, delivery, card benefits and seller terms can matter more than a 99-cent difference.

What the PS5 Pro price includes—and what it does not
The standard PS5 Pro is a 2TB, all-digital console. Sony’s product listing includes the console, a DualSense wireless controller and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed. It does not include a disc drive or vertical stand. Sony lists both separately on its PS5 Pro product page.

Accessory prices are not included here because they can change. If you own PS5 or PS4 game discs, or want disc-based Blu-ray/DVD playback, make sure you obtain Sony’s compatible detachable drive and confirm it is available before ordering the console. Do not mistake “disc-compatible” for “disc drive included.” A stand is only relevant if you want that orientation; the console can also be used horizontally. Online multiplayer may require a separately sold PlayStation Plus subscription, depending on the game and service.
How to verify stock and avoid a bad listing
- Open the retailer’s product page and confirm it is the standard PS5 Pro 2TB console, not an accessory or another model.
- Look for an actual Add to cart option. “Notify me” is not purchasable stock.
- Enter your ZIP code or select the store where you plan to collect it. A general in-stock label may not apply locally.
- Check the delivery date or pickup status shown for your selected location.
- Read the seller and fulfillment line. Prefer Sony/PlayStation Direct, Best Buy-sold stock, Walmart.com-sold and shipped stock, or direct Target inventory.
- Confirm the condition is new if you expect a sealed console. Open-box units have different condition and may have different terms.
- Compare the cash total, including tax and delivery. Treat financing as a payment option, not a lower console price, and check eligibility and terms.
- Review the return policy for that exact seller and condition before ordering, then save the order confirmation and promised delivery date.
Retail pages can change between browsing and checkout. If the seller switches, the price jumps above the usual $899–$899.99 range, or the pickup date disappears, pause and reassess rather than paying a reseller markup by default. Protection plans are optional paid add-ons, not a requirement to buy the console.
Should you buy at this price?
The PS5 Pro is easiest to justify if you want Sony’s most capable current PlayStation console, have a high-end 4K display, and play games that support PS5 Pro enhancements. It is a harder value case if you mainly play titles that do not use those enhancements, do not need the extra capability, or are trying to keep the total cost down—especially if you also need to buy a disc drive. This is a buying decision, not a guarantee of a particular performance improvement in every game.
