Quick answer: The latest officially documented ASUS ROG Flow X16 is the 2023 GV601 series, not a new 2026 model. ASUS still lists US configurations and a Where to buy page, but availability is now inventory-dependent and the official US pages do not show a dependable universal current price. Check the complete SKU, display type, condition, warranty and return policy before buying.
What is the latest ASUS ROG Flow X16?
ASUS announced the refreshed Flow X16 as part of its 2023 ROG Flow lineup. The family uses Intel 13th-generation processors, NVIDIA RTX 4050, RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs depending on market, a 16-inch 16:10 touchscreen and a 360-degree hinge. Selected configurations add a 240Hz QHD+ Mini LED Nebula HDR panel and support for ASUS ROG XG Mobile external graphics. ASUS’s announcement did not establish one worldwide launch date or price; configuration and timing varied by region. See the 2023 ASUS announcement.
ASUS’s official pages reviewed identify the Flow X16 as the 2023 series. They do not show a newer 2024, 2025 or 2026 Flow X16 generation. That makes it an older, distinctive convertible rather than a current-generation launch. “Still listed” does not necessarily mean factory stock is available.
2022 versus 2023
The 2022 Flow X16 also used the GV601 family, but it was associated with AMD Ryzen processors and RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 Ti-class graphics, depending on market. A listing that says only “GV601” is incomplete. Compare the full model code and specifications with ASUS’s 2022 specification page before purchasing.

1. Start with ASUS’s official listing
Use the US ROG Flow X16 Where to buy page as the starting point. It identifies supported variants and can route you to retailer pages. A link on that page is not a guarantee of live stock, price or condition, so open the retailer listing and verify every detail.
2. Check the ASUS store listing
ASUS’s official specification page includes an e-store price area, but a stable current US price was not exposed in the available product data. The laptop may therefore appear only as clearance, open-box, refurbished or regional inventory.

3. Treat marketplace offers as separate risks
Older Flow X16 units can appear as new old stock, open-box, manufacturer-refurbished or used machines. Do not recommend or buy a listing until you can identify the exact SKU, seller, warranty, return window, included charger and battery condition. Confirm the keyboard layout, power plug and warranty territory for imported units.
Current price: why there is no single honest number
ASUS no longer displays a dependable current US price for every 2023 Flow X16 configuration. A 2023 launch price would be historical, not a 2026 buying quote. Surviving units can differ substantially in GPU, display, Windows edition, condition and seller protection, so “the Flow X16 costs $X” is misleading.

ASUS also lists an RTX 4060 QHD+ touchscreen configuration under GV601VV-X16.I94060. Global specifications include RTX 4050 variants, different Windows editions, memory arrangements, keyboards, chargers and displays. Use the exact regional specification page at ASUS ROG; do not assume a US Mini LED panel or the same GPU power limit.

US product data lists a 3.5mm combo jack, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a USB-C port with DisplayPort, power delivery and G-SYNC support, a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port with DisplayPort and power delivery, HDMI 2.1, and the proprietary ROG XG Mobile interface combined with USB-C. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are listed, subject to regional and operating-system limitations. ASUS lists two SO-DIMM slots and support up to 64GB; confirm the precise storage layout for the individual unit before ordering an SSD.

Mini LED is not universal
Important US 2023 configurations list a 2560×1600 Mini LED ROG Nebula HDR display, but retailer titles and regional versions can differ. Verify the full ASUS model code and panel description rather than trusting a generic “Flow X16” title.

Windows and accessories vary
The RTX 4070 GV601VI-CS94 is listed with Windows 11 Pro, while the RTX 4060 GV601VV-BH96 is listed with Windows 11 Home. Stylus support does not mean a pen is included; accessory bundles vary by SKU and region. Confirm the original charger and any stylus before paying.
Should you buy one?
It makes sense when
- You specifically need a 16-inch gaming laptop that converts into tablet, tent and stand modes.
- You value a touchscreen, 16:10 QHD+ high-refresh display and, on the right SKU, Mini LED HDR.
- You want upgradeable SO-DIMM memory and Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and XG Mobile connectivity.
- The exact configuration is substantially cheaper than a comparable current laptop and has clear warranty and return protection.
Wait or choose something else when
- You want the newest processor and GPU platform, guaranteed retail availability or maximum performance per dollar.
- The seller cannot prove the display type, GPU, charger, battery condition or warranty.
- The price approaches a current RTX 4060/4070 laptop that includes newer hardware.
- You are counting on buying an XG Mobile later without checking compatibility and total cost.
ROG XG Mobile: useful niche, poor reason to overpay
The dedicated XG Mobile interface can connect the Flow X16 to an external graphics-and-I/O unit. ASUS’s CES material described the 2023 Flow lineup connecting to an XG Mobile unit using an RTX 4090 Laptop GPU; that is an external accessory, not the laptop’s internal graphics processor. XG Mobile is not a generic USB-C eGPU, compatibility depends on the exact laptop and accessory generation, and the added cost can be substantial. It is most compelling if you already own a compatible unit or need one laptop that can become a desktop setup.

- Verify the ASUS AC adapter, plug type, stylus promise and all included accessories.
- Check battery health or cycle count where available.
- Inspect the 360-degree hinge, touchscreen, keyboard, ports, rubber feet, fans and display uniformity for damage or dead pixels.
- Confirm warranty territory, return window and whether the warranty belongs to ASUS or only the marketplace seller.
- Compare the final price with current RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 laptops before committing.

Buy the ASUS ROG Flow X16 only when you want its unusual combination of a 16-inch touchscreen, 360-degree hinge, discrete RTX graphics and optional XG Mobile connectivity—and the exact 2023 GV601 configuration is clearly documented at a meaningfully better price than newer alternatives. For buyers who prioritize current hardware, simple availability or performance per dollar, a current ROG Zephyrus G16 or conventional gaming laptop is the safer purchase.
