The clue sits outside the Su Durante Warehouses in the Outskirts of Buried City. Search Tian Wen’s cache on the warehouse’s exterior, then follow the trace or footprints away from it toward the nearby trees. The final clue is a partly buried piece of metal. Interacting with it completes the step. Guides disagree on whether the cache is on the north or west side of the building and whether the clue lies northwest or slightly west, so use the quest marker and the exterior wall as your reference points rather than compass directions.
What the Marked For Death clue step involves
The clue objective belongs to Tian Wen’s Marked For Death quest. Tian Wen gives the quest after you complete Broken Monument. Its objectives are to reach Su Durante Warehouses, search Tian Wen’s cache, and follow the clues. The in-game wording for the cache objective is “Search for Tian Wen’s cache near the Warehouses,” and the final objective reads “Follow the clues.”
Step-by-step: finding the clue
- Accept Marked For Death from Tian Wen after completing Broken Monument, then travel to Su Durante Warehouses in the Outskirts of Buried City.
- Use the quest marker to locate the cache. It is outside the warehouse, so do not search inside the building.
- Circle the exterior walls around the marked area until you reach the cache, then interact with it to search it.
- Look away from the cache for a trace or set of footprints heading toward the nearby trees. Follow them.
- Find the partly buried piece of metal sticking out of the sand near the trees and interact with it. This completes the final clue step.
A video walkthrough covers the same three objectives in the same order, so it is a useful companion if the trail is hard to pick out on the ground.
Why guides give different directions
PC Gamer places the cache on the warehouse’s west side and the clue slightly west into the trees. The ARC Raiders Wiki places the cache on the north side and the clue to the northwest. A third-party guide dated September 1, 2026 describes the cache as outside the warehouses and says that investigating it activates the final clue objective, but it does not settle the wall-side question. Because the sources conflict on direction, the marker and the cache’s position against the exterior wall are the dependable guides. If the marker moves after a patch, follow it instead of any written direction.

Quest rewards
The quest reference lists one Shotgun Choke II and one Angled Grip II as rewards. These are in-game attachments, not physical products.
What is and is not confirmed
- Confirmed across the walkthroughs: the cache is outside the warehouse, and the trail leads to a partly buried metal clue near trees.
- Not settled: the exact compass side of the cache and the clue, because guides conflict.
- Not stated: the game build these descriptions were tested against. The guides do not identify a patch version, and no official patch note confirming current object placement was found. Guides were reviewed as of October 2026.
If a future update moves the cache or clue, expect the quest marker to update first, and treat the marker as the authority.
