For an early, reliable supply of ectoplasm in Oblivion Remastered, go to Rielle, northwest of Bruma. In the dungeon, descend through the blue-glowing door into the crypt, where a Remastered-specific guide reports six Ghosts. Defeat and loot them; Ghosts require a silver weapon or magic. The Fighters Guild quest “Drunk and Disorderly” needs five ectoplasm.
How to get ectoplasm at Rielle
- Fast-travel to Bruma and travel northwest to Rielle.
- Enter the dungeon and go downstairs through the blue-glowing door into the crypt. PowerPyx reports six Ghosts in this area.
- Fight them with a silver weapon or magic. The guide says standard weapons cannot damage Ghosts; it gives a silver longsword carried by Imperial City guards as one example. Blacksmiths may sell suitable weapons.
- Loot the defeated Ghosts. The six-Ghost room is described as an easy early source, and provides a practical route toward the five ectoplasm Margarte requests for “Drunk and Disorderly.”

Other ways to find ectoplasm
Ghosts and Wraiths are the general enemy sources. If you are already near another undead area or quest, those enemies can be alternatives to making the trip to Rielle, though the available guides do not establish that they are as quick or dependable.
- Blood of the Divines: PowerPyx points to this quest as another encounter with many Ghosts and Wraiths.
- Sancre Tor and Vahtacen: Gamer Guides names these, along with Rielle, as relevant undead-dungeon locations.
Gamer Guides’ ectoplasm entry lists the ingredient’s effects and locations.

Check alchemy shops for random stock
The Main Ingredient in the Imperial City Market District and All Things Alchemical in Skingrad may carry ectoplasm. Stock is random, so a visit is not guaranteed to pay off. Waiting 72 in-game hours is reported as a way to prompt restocking, but does not guarantee ectoplasm will appear.

Drunk and Disorderly
Margarte asks for five ectoplasm in the Fighters Guild quest “Drunk and Disorderly.” Rielle’s reported group of six Ghosts makes it a convenient target for collecting the requested ingredient.
Alchemy effects
Ingredient references list ectoplasm’s four alchemy effects as Shock Damage, Dispel, Fortify Magicka and Damage Health. The Elder Scrolls Wiki also lists item data for ectoplasm, but those legacy reference values are not needed to locate it in Remastered.
Meridia’s quest
Ectoplasm is one acceptable offering for Meridia’s quest, alongside bonemeal or mort flesh. It is optional if you already have either alternative. PC Gamer’s guide places the quest at level 10: PC Gamer’s Meridia quest guide.
