Where can I get free stream alerts and graphics?
Streamlabs for ready-made alert themes
Streamlabs says its free Alert Box can be customized with free themes, stock images, and sounds. Its Media Library guide, updated April 25, 2025, says Streamlabs Desktop includes hundreds of free alert themes. To browse them, open the Alertbox Library or Themes, choose the Widget Themes tab, select a theme and its matching widgets, then install.
Streamlabs says themes downloaded from this library are vetted and their designers have been paid for the rights. That is Streamlabs’ description of its own library, not an independent audit of every asset. Streamlabs also offers Ultra as an optional paid upgrade for a larger premium selection; you do not need it to use the free Alert Box and themes. Streamlabs’ alert setup guide explains the setup and customization options.
For custom art or GIFs
A ready-made theme is the simplest route if you want alerts that look consistent without assembling each element yourself. If you find a GIF or graphic elsewhere, do not assume it is cleared for stream use because it is publicly available. Streamlabs’ graphics guide specifically advises contacting the GIF’s author for permission before using GIFs from the sites it names. Read Streamlabs’ graphics and sound-effects guide and obtain permission where needed.

Where can I download free alert sounds?
Mixkit: downloadable WAV and MP3 effects
Mixkit’s free sound-effects library offers downloadable WAV and MP3 files. Mixkit says its free sound effects may be used in personal and commercial projects, including YouTube and other online video projects, without required attribution. Check the Mixkit license and the terms applying to the asset you download; a general library description is not a substitute for the applicable license.
Pixabay: searchable sound-effect categories
Pixabay’s sound-effects library can help you search by category or terms such as “notification,” “pop,” “click,” and “whoosh.” Its page reported “Over 130,000+ free sound effects shared by our talented community” when viewed October 3, 2026; the count is dynamic and may change.

Pixabay’s license summary says content may be used for free without attribution and modified, subject to restrictions. It prohibits standalone redistribution and says users are responsible for additional third-party rights. Pixabay describes the summary as non-binding; review the full license and the specific asset’s details, particularly if it includes recognizable people, branding, or marks, or if your use is commercial.

- Configure the alert with its provider. Choose which events should trigger alerts and select the media or theme in the provider’s settings.
- Copy the alert or widget URL. For Streamlabs, open Alert Box settings and copy the Widget URL.
- Add it in OBS. In the scene where alerts should appear, add a Browser source and paste the provider’s URL into its URL field. Adjust its size and position to fit the scene.
- Test before going live. Use the provider’s test controls, if available, and confirm the alert appears in the intended scene and is not hidden behind another source.
Provider interfaces can change, so if a label differs, look for the alert widget’s URL in that provider’s alert or overlay settings.
Can you use free sound effects and graphics on a stream?
Sometimes—but “free to download” does not automatically mean “free for every use.” Check the current license for the exact asset and the way you plan to use it. Mixkit states that its free sound effects may be used in personal and commercial projects under its license. Pixabay’s summary permits use and modification with restrictions, bars standalone redistribution, and places responsibility for additional third-party rights on the user.
