The most reliable way to get the feather is to hunt the Guardian Seikret at Low Rank and carve it. Game8’s guide gives a 70% chance of the feather from a Low Rank body carve. Other routes exist, including a quest reward and a trade with the roaming trader Ren, but they depend on the same Low Rank versus High Rank distinction explained below.
Where the Guardian Seikrets spawn
Ruins of Wyveria is the only location the guides name for this creature. Game8’s location guide lists it in areas 2, 4, 6, 8, and 9. Area 7 also has Guardian Seikret cocoons, which are useful if the creature is not currently on the map.
Locating them with Filter View
- Open the detailed map in Ruins of Wyveria.
- Turn on Filter View and check for Guardian Seikret markers in areas 2, 4, 6, 8, and 9.
- If a marker appears, travel to it and hunt the Guardian Seikret at Low Rank.
Spawning them from cocoons
If no Guardian Seikret appears on the map, look for a Guardian Seikret cocoon and shoot it with slinger ammo to release the creature. Game8 notes cocoons in area 7 in addition to the areas above. This is the fallback when the map shows nothing, not a separate source of feathers.
How to get the Guardian Seikret Feather
There are three routes reported in the guides. Their chances and requirements differ, so compare them before choosing one.
#1 Best Overall
- Wild New Adventure – Monster Hunter Wilds follows the story of a special Research Commission investigating the Forbidden Lands. Fully voiced for the first time in the series, the hunter is joined in their journey by a colorful cast of characters, including a Palico partner, Guild-appointed Handler Alma, trusty smithy Gemma, and the mysterious child Nata. Together, the team ventures into an unexplored new frontier where surprises await around every corner.
- A Living World – The Forbidden Lands spans multiple biomes with dynamic identities, such as the Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest, where the ecosystems shift between vibrant seasons brimming with life, and unforgiving climates where monsters fight over limited resources. Changes in the landscape will impact the creatures that live there and push hunters to adapt as well.
- New Monsters and Wildlife – Monster Hunter Wilds features a variety of new creatures, ranging from herds of small species to large monsters – some of which roam the Forbidden Lands in packs. Every creature hunters encounter in the wild has carved out a special place in its habitat and possesses unique attacks and behaviors.
- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
| Route | Rank | Reported chance | Requirements and notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Body carve | Low Rank | 70% (Game8) | Carve the Guardian Seikret after the hunt. This is the most direct route. |
| Target reward (quest route) | Low Rank | 30% target-reward chance (Game8 material guide) | Game8 links this route to the Low Rank optional quest Spread Those Wings. |
| Trade with Ren | Not stated | Not stated | Ren, the roaming trader, may offer the feather in exchange for Milky Cocoon Web. Trade inventory is limited, so Ren may not always have it in stock. |
Body carve at Low Rank
Hunt the Guardian Seikret at Low Rank and carve its body. Game8 reports a 70% chance of the ordinary feather from that carve. Because the figure comes from a guide’s drop data, expect variation from one hunt to the next.
Quest reward: Spread Those Wings
Game8’s material guide names the Low Rank optional quest Spread Those Wings as a way to get the feather. The guide reports a 30% chance from the target reward. If you are missing a feather and do not want to hunt repeatedly, this quest is the other Low Rank option.
Trading with Ren
Ren, the roaming trader, may offer Guardian Seikret Feather in exchange for Milky Cocoon Web. Because trade inventory is limited, the offer may not appear every time you check. The guides do not state a trade rate, so treat this as an occasional option rather than a dependable farm.
Guardian Seikret Feather vs. Guardian Seikret Feather+
The ordinary feather and Guardian Seikret Feather+ are separate items. Game8 states that the ordinary feather is a Low Rank material and that High Rank methods yield the plus version. If a recipe or upgrade asks for the ordinary feather, a Feather+ from a High Rank hunt will not substitute for it. Hunt at Low Rank or use the Spread Those Wings quest if you need the regular feather.

What the Guardian Seikret Feather is used for
Game8’s material guide lists the feather in these recipes and charms:
- G. Arkveld Vambraces
- G. Seikret Coil
- Marathon Charm I
- Grit Charm I
- Chainblade Charm I
How reliable these figures are
The 70% and 30% chances, along with the map areas and cocoon locations, come from Game8’s guides rather than from official Capcom documentation. The source pages could not be checked directly for this article, so the numbers reflect what the guides report, not a verified official rate. Before relying on exact percentages or spawn areas, check the in-game Field Guide, which is the authoritative source for drop information in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Rank #4
The regular and plus feathers, and the Ren trade, are the parts of this guidance most worth confirming, because they depend on rank rules and trader stock that can differ from one game update to the next.
