Where to find Iron Ore and Carbon Ore
Use the current interactive maps to locate deposits in your region. The Iron Ore map covers Hagga Basin and the Deep Desert and lists 6,087 known Iron Ore nodes; its page was updated October 4, 2026. The Carbon Ore map also covers Hagga Basin and the Deep Desert. Filter for Iron Ore and Carbon Ore, then follow the markers in the map rather than relying on a fixed route: Iron Ore map and Carbon Ore map.

Carbon Ore and Jabal Eifrit
A Dune: Awakening Team guide dated May 11, 2025 identifies Jabal Eifrit as a Carbon Ore area and recommends upgrading to Cutteray MK2 before heading there. Treat that as older regional and tool guidance, not a guaranteed current mining requirement: check the live map and your in-game mining feedback for the subregion and tool gate in your current version. How to turn the ore into Steel Ingots
Refine Iron Ore into Iron Ingots
At a Small Ore Refinery, the cited recipe uses five Iron Ore and 25 water to produce one Iron Ingot. The recipe database says this was checked against build 2118731-0-shipping. Iron Ingot recipe.
Use an Ore Refinery to make Steel
Each Steel Ingot requires one Iron Ingot and 50 mL of water. The amount of Carbon Ore and processing time depend on refinery tier, according to the community-maintained recipe data retrieved October 8, 2026:

Plan a gathering run
- Check both ore maps before leaving base. Select your current region and use the Iron Ore and Carbon Ore markers to plan where to visit.
- Gather Iron Ore for the Iron Ingots you need. Allow five Iron Ore and 25 water for each Iron Ingot.
- Collect Carbon Ore to match your refinery. Plan for four per Steel Ingot with Small, three with Medium, or two with Large. Set aside 50 mL of water per Steel Ingot as well.
- Confirm the current tool and recipe in game. Cutteray MK2 is a cautious starting point for Carbon Ore based on the team’s older Jabal Eifrit guidance, but mining feedback and recipe displays are the best checks after patches.
- Refine at the best tier available to you. Large uses the least Carbon Ore and has the shortest listed processing time; earlier tiers remain usable while progressing.
Can you collect both ores on one trip?
The map pages provide live regional markers, but the published information does not establish a verified combined route or exact coordinates that reliably collect both ores in one run. Check the current interactive maps for nearby deposits rather than assuming a single best farm location.
