How to open Photo Mode
- Pause the game using your platform’s pause control.
- Select Photo Mode from the pause menu.
The announcement identifies the menu location but does not specify controller or keyboard button mappings. Use the pause control shown for your platform rather than relying on a particular button name.

What you can do in Photo Mode
Photo Mode arrived in the Thank You Update, which PlayStation described as available to existing owners at no additional cost. Its tools include camera-angle and field-of-view controls, color grading, and lighting adjustments. PlayStation’s December 2025 announcement lists 33 filters and 10 customizable lights: PlayStation Blog announcement.
The developer also describes broad camera freedom, including the ability to move through collision and travel far from the usual viewpoint. Senior Gameplay Programmer Florien Torres told PlayStation Blog the mode can be used during cinematics, allowing players to explore unusual angles and locations. The developer’s feature discussion is available on the official Expedition 33 website.

If Photo Mode is missing from the menu
The official announcement does not establish why the option might be absent on a particular platform or installation. Check that the game is updated, then return to the pause menu. The available official information does not document platform-specific input steps or exceptions for particular screens.
