The two named locations are Egerton Salt Mines, which the Hunter’s “Salt Mine Location” quest points you to, and Saline Quarry, which sits southeast of the starting area in the first Shrouded valley. Egerton is the easier option if you want a marker to follow.
Where salt is found
The Official Enshrouded Wiki lists the Springlands as Enshrouded’s salt biome, and it names two salt sources within it: Egerton Salt Mines and Saline Quarry. Salt is a crafting material, and it is mined from deposits. Kindlewastes is not a salt source. Its wiki page describes a level 20–30 desert biome with Ternion Mine, but does not identify any salt deposit there, so do not send players to Kindlewastes for salt.

Route 1: Follow the Hunter’s quest to Egerton Salt Mines
This is the route the game itself guides you along. It requires finishing an earlier quest first.
- Complete the Hunter quest “Hunter Becomes The Hunted.” This is a prerequisite; the salt mine quest does not appear without it.
- Open the Hunter’s next quest, “Salt Mine Location.”
- Follow the quest marker to Egerton Salt Mines in the Springlands.
- Reach the mine and acquire salt, which completes the objective.
If the marker does not appear, check that “Hunter Becomes The Hunted” is listed as complete in your quest log before searching the map. Quest text and markers are the most likely thing to differ after a patch, so if the objective wording or location has changed, trust the in-game quest over this article.

Route 2: Go to Saline Quarry
Saline Quarry is the alternative if you want to reach salt without the quest. Its position is described relative to the starting area: southeast of it, in the first Shrouded valley. Because it is described only by direction, use your map to confirm the exact spot on your own save.

Neither source compares how much salt each location yields or how long each trip takes, so the choice comes down to whether you want the quest-guided route or a direct trip.

The Official Enshrouded Wiki’s salt entry says salt is mined from deposits and also lists Hollow Soldier as a drop source. It does not give drop rates or compare the efficiency of mining against defeating enemies, so no method can be called faster or more reliable on the evidence available.
Planning the return trip
A companion guide advises planning a way back, because both salt sources lie in areas that connect to the Shroud. This is practical advice from that guide, not a measured safety finding, so treat it as a precaution rather than a stated risk level. The guide’s verification note reads “Reviewed for Enshrouded v0.9.1.2 on July 27, 2026.” That check is from the guide itself and was not independently confirmed against the current game version, which as of this writing is more than two months later.

Locations and quests can change with updates. If the marker, quest name or location does not match what you see, check the Official Enshrouded Wiki’s Springlands and Egerton Salt Mines pages, and the in-game quest log, before assuming this guide is correct.
