Where Winds Meet character codes let you copy a community-made appearance preset into your character creator. They can reproduce facial structure, eyes, nose, lips, makeup, and other saved appearance settings, but they do not grant Echo Jade, outfits, mounts, currency, or cosmetics you do not own.
Global-client appearance codes commonly begin with ARTa. The steps below cover importing a code during character creation or later in the game, sharing your own design, finding reliable presets, and fixing the most common errors.
How to import a character code during creation
- Open character customization.
- Enter the Customization interface.
- Select Import Customization Data in the lower-left corner. On PC, the default shortcut is V.
- Paste the complete code into Enter Customization Code.
- Use the apply or copy-pages icon, or the equivalent on-screen confirmation control.
- Inspect the preview from multiple angles, then select Complete when you are satisfied.
The same import window can accept an image containing a QR code. Select the QR or image option, choose the saved image, preview the result, and confirm it.
Copy the code exactly. Do not add spaces, quotation marks, or other text. Current global examples look like ARTaRnfKLSNJrr1YR05; the often-repeated WWM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format should not be treated as a real global character-code example. See the PC Gamer customization-code guide and Dexerto’s current code list.

How to import a code after character creation
You can edit your appearance after entering the world. Use this route:
Main menu → Appearance → Appearance under the wardrobe → select a face or customization slot → Edit Face → Import Customization Data
Paste the code into Enter Customization Code, confirm the import, review the preview, and complete the change. If you are creating a separate appearance plan, select the empty customization slot before choosing Edit Face. The exact availability of additional appearance or gender changes can depend on the relevant item or progression, but the old claim that appearance is permanently locked after creation is too broad. Current guides document later appearance editing, including a free full re-customization opportunity in the current build. See All Things How’s import guide for the documented menu flow.
Appearance codes are not reward codes
Do not paste a face code into Settings → Other → Exchange Code. That menu is for promotional or reward codes, such as codes granting items or currency. Appearance data must be imported through Import Customization Data in character customization or the Appearance face editor.

A QR image is simply another representation of appearance-sharing data. Scanning or importing one does not provide rewards, premium currency, outfits, mounts, or Echo Jade.
What an imported preset changes
An import copies the settings saved by the creator. Depending on the work, that may include facial proportions, eyes, nose, lips, makeup, hair-related settings, dye, or other appearance elements.
It does not unlock items that the recipient does not own. If the creator used an unavailable hairstyle, dye, outfit, or other cosmetic, the game may skip that element or substitute what is available. The result can therefore look different from the creator’s screenshot even when the code works correctly.
Also check the preset’s scope. A work may be a full face, makeup-only appearance, outfit, dye, or another narrower category. A makeup-only code will not recreate the underlying facial structure.

Best Where Winds Meet character codes
There is no permanent official ranking of the “best” presets. Gallery works can be removed or become unavailable, so the safest approach is to open the in-game Gallery from the appearance editor and choose a currently available, highly rated, or popular work.
The following are community examples published by established guides and documented as working when those guides were checked. They are not guaranteed permanent codes:

How to share your own appearance
- Open Appearance from the main menu.
- Open the Appearance section beneath the wardrobe.
- Select the face or appearance preset you want to share.
- Choose Edit Face.
- Select Upload to Gallery. On PC, the face-editor shortcut is reported as R.
- After the appearance uploads, choose Share to generate the shareable work or code data.
- Copy or save the text code. You can also generate an image containing its QR code.
For a useful public post, include:
- the complete code, copied exactly;
- whether it is intended for a male or female character model;
- whether it is a full-face or makeup-only work;
- a screenshot in ordinary in-game lighting;
- the creator name or Gallery/work ID, if available; and
- any required hair, dye, makeup, outfit, or other cosmetics.
A screenshot or QR image alone is less convenient than plain text for readers who need to copy and troubleshoot the code. The face-editor sharing flow is also distinct from the ordinary photo-gallery route. See All Things How’s face-code guide and its Great Faceologist event guide.

“Invalid,” “expired,” or no preview
First recopy the entire string without spaces or quotation marks. A code may fail because it was truncated, changed by formatting, or removed from the creator’s Gallery. If it still reports as expired, use another code or find the creator’s current Gallery work.
The imported face does not match the screenshot
Check for unavailable cosmetics first. The code does not unlock the creator’s hairstyle, dye, clothing, or other items. Lighting can also change how a face appears. Preview the result from several angles and, where possible, under both Gallery-style and ordinary gameplay lighting before selecting Complete.
The code was entered in the wrong menu
Return to the character creator or the face editor and use Import Customization Data. Settings → Other → Exchange Code is not the appearance-code importer.

- 🌀 Officially Licensed Where Winds Meet Collectible – the Teleporter, in Miniature This isn't fan art on a keycap. It's an official Where Winds Meet keycap — an authorized 3D replica of the game's iconic teleporter, cast in metal with every magical rune and architectural detail intact. For collectors who care about authenticity. For fans who know the difference between licensed and knockoff. The box says it. The keycap proves it. Your keyboard just got a piece of the mystical world itself.
- ⚙️ Premium Metal Construction – 3D Sculpted, Not Flat Printed Cast from high-quality metal with a sculpted 3D profile that rises above the keycap surface — not a flat decal, not a printed image, not a thin layer of epoxy over a sticker. Each teleporter detail is rendered in raised relief you can feel under your fingertip. The weight is real. The cold-metal touch is real. This artisan keycap brings a tactile, architectural presence to your keystrokes that no printed cap can match.
- ⌨️ Cherry MX Compatible – Drops Right into Your Setup Standard Cherry MX stem design fits the vast majority of mechanical keyboards — Cherry, Gateron, Kailh, and most MX-style clones. Ideal for the Escape key, function row, or any 1u slot that needs a personality upgrade. This mechanical keyboard keycap installs in seconds. No adapters. No wobble. No "it almost fits." Just a precision stem that seats securely the first time.
- 🎁 Themed Collector Box – a Where Winds Meet Gift That Lands Before They Even Open It Presented in officially licensed collector packaging featuring game art and branding — the unboxing experience starts the moment they see the box. Birthday for the open-world RPG fan. Holiday for the keyboard builder who already has every switch tester. Surprise for the Where Winds Meet enthusiast who thought they owned every piece of official merch. This collector keycap proves them wrong in the best way.
- 🛠️ Keycap Puller Included – Full Install Kit, No Separate Purchase Every order includes one teleporter-themed metal artisan keycap and a free keycap puller in the box. No hunting for tools. No scratched keycaps from makeshift removal. No waiting for a separate accessory order to arrive. This keycap set arrives complete — pull the old cap, seat the teleporter, and let the mystical world glow from your ESC key. Installation takes 30 seconds. The conversation it starts lasts way longer.
The character model does not match
Some presets are made for a particular gender or character model. A mismatch can cause an import to fail, distort the result, or make it look unlike the source image. Confirm the intended character type before importing or publishing a code.
Gallery says the appearance is already applied
The Gallery may reject an upload when the exact appearance is already applied or has already been uploaded. A reported workaround is to change a small face or makeup detail, save the variation, and upload that version.
The upload limit has been reached
Appearance uploads have been reported as limited to five per day, including uploads connected with appearance events. This is an operational limit that can change server-side after a patch, so check the in-game message if the limit behaves differently.
An event tag is missing
For event submissions, the required tag may appear only when uploading from the face or makeup editor. Use Appearance → Appearance → Edit Face → Upload to Gallery, rather than an outfit or ordinary photo-gallery route. If the tag is still absent, reopening the Appearance menu or restarting the client has been reported to help after updates.

Do not assume that every code from the original Chinese client will work on the global version. Appearance data can differ between versions or regions, and community reports document cross-version failures. Prefer a work visible in the global client’s Gallery or a code explicitly tested on the global version. This qualification is especially important when an old social-media post provides no client, region, date, or Gallery ID.
