Where Winds Meet PC Specs: 60GB vs. 100GB Builds and Current Storefront Requirements

The 60GB figure belongs to the official launcher’s launch-era Quick/Lite package, not every PC version. See how it compares with Standard, Steam and Epic requirements.

Where Winds Meet’s 60GB and 100GB figures refer to different launch-era packages in the official PC launcher: Quick (also called Lite in some regional materials) and Standard. They are not universal requirements for every PC version. As of September 2026, Steam lists 130GB minimum and 200GB recommended storage, while Epic lists 100GB for both displayed profiles. If you are installing through Steam, plan around Steam’s listing—not the old 60GB Quick-package figure.

Why are there 60GB, 100GB, 130GB and 200GB figures?

The official PC launcher’s November 2025 installation guide described two selectable packages: Quick, requiring more than 60GB, and Standard, requiring more than 100GB. Some regional official materials call the smaller option Lite. The launcher also mentioned an Ultimate package but said it was unavailable at launch. These are package-specific launch-era figures, not interchangeable estimates for every storefront.

Storefront listings differ. Steam’s current page lists 130GB for minimum specifications and 200GB for recommended specifications; Epic lists 100GB for both of its displayed profiles. The sources do not establish the technical reason for those differences, so use the requirement shown by the storefront or launcher you intend to use. The official site continued publishing updates in 2026, so launch-era figures should not be treated as a guarantee of the current installed size.

Official launcher PC requirements from the November 2025 launch guide

The following profiles are from the official global-launch guide, published November 3, 2025. They describe the official launcher, not a current universal spec table for Steam or Epic.

Profile Operating system CPU GPU RAM Storage
Minimum / Quick Windows 10/11, 64-bit Intel Core i7-4770K or AMD Ryzen 5 2400G GTX 750 Ti, RX 550 or Arc A380 8GB 60GB available on HDD; SSD recommended
Recommended / Standard Windows 10/11, 64-bit Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT or Arc A750 32GB 100GB on SSD
High / Standard Windows 10/11, 64-bit Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 9 5950X RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT 32GB 100GB on SSD
Laptop minimum Windows 10/11, 64-bit Ryzen 7 5800HS or equivalent MX450 or equivalent 8GB 60GB available; SSD recommended

The guide does not attach a guaranteed resolution, graphics preset or frame rate to these profiles. Meeting a listed minimum is not a promise of smooth performance at a particular setting.

What the Quick/Lite and Standard packages mean

Package Launch-era official storage figure Hardware association in the guide Drive guidance
Quick / Lite More than 60GB Associated with the official minimum profile Minimum table allows HDD; SSD recommended
Standard More than 100GB Recommended and High profiles 100GB SSD in those profile tables

The official material confirms distinct package options and their requirements, but does not provide a detailed inventory of content, maps, quests, voice packs or visual settings removed or reduced in Quick/Lite. Do not assume a specific content difference from the package name alone. The stated space is a target, not a promise that the game will occupy exactly that amount after updates.

Steam and Epic requirements

Steam

Steam’s current listing gives these PC requirements:

Profile CPU GPU RAM Storage
Minimum Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 GTX 1060 6GB or RX 480 8GB 16GB 130GB
Recommended Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT or Arc A750 32GB 200GB

Steam also lists Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12 and broadband internet, and recommends an SSD. These are Steam’s current storefront figures; when installing through Steam, its 130GB minimum supersedes the official launcher’s older 60GB Quick figure. The cited Steam listing does not present the official launcher’s Quick/Standard selector.

Epic Games Store

Epic’s listing shows Windows 10/11 64-bit, an Intel Core i7-4770K or Ryzen 5 2400G and GTX 750 Ti, RX 550 or Arc A380 at minimum; its recommended CPU is an i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X, with an RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT or Arc A750. Epic lists 8GB RAM minimum and 32GB recommended, and 100GB storage for both displayed profiles. It recommends an SSD; its listing gives DirectX 11 at minimum and DirectX 12 for recommended. Treat this as Epic-specific information rather than a universal specification, because it differs from Steam’s live listing.

How much free space should you reserve?

  • Official launcher Quick/Lite: The launch guide’s minimum is more than 60GB. The launcher must still offer that package for your region and current build.
  • Official launcher Standard: The launch guide says to reserve more than 100GB; its recommended and High tables specify a 100GB SSD target.
  • Steam: Match the current listing: 130GB minimum or 200GB recommended. Having exactly 130GB free leaves little margin for operating-system activity or installation work.
  • Epic: Its listing says 100GB for both displayed profiles; allow additional headroom if possible.

As practical advice rather than an additional official requirement, leave some space beyond the published figure for temporary unpacking, patches, shader caches and launcher updates. The sources do not specify a fixed extra amount. If installation fails despite apparently sufficient free space, check which package or storefront you selected and whether old launcher or game files are still using the drive.

RAM

Eight gigabytes matches only the launch-era official launcher minimum and Epic’s displayed minimum. Steam’s current minimum is 16GB, while the official launcher’s recommended profile, Steam’s recommended profile and Epic’s recommended profile use 32GB. A minimum figure establishes a listed threshold, not a guarantee of a good experience.

GPU and CPU

Compare your exact processor and graphics card with the table for your chosen storefront. The official launcher and Epic list an older minimum graphics tier than Steam currently does. A PC that matches the old Quick minimum may therefore fall below Steam’s current minimum listing. Requirements alone do not establish a frame-rate target.

Storage and operating system

Use a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 system for the listed official launcher profiles. Steam lists Windows 10/11 64-bit, and Epic also lists Windows 10/11 64-bit. A hard drive is permitted by the official launcher’s Quick minimum, but the guide recommends an SSD; Steam and Epic also recommend SSD installation. The official sources do not specify a required SSD interface, PCIe generation or transfer speed.

Laptops

The official launcher’s launch-era laptop minimum is Ryzen 7 5800HS or equivalent, MX450 or equivalent graphics, 8GB RAM and 60GB available storage, with an SSD recommended. Laptop GPU names are not direct desktop equivalents: power limits, cooling, memory configuration and integrated versus discrete graphics can materially affect performance. The laptop profile is a minimum, not a high-settings recommendation.

Which PC version should you install?

  • Limited space or older hardware: Check whether the official launcher in your region and current build still offers Quick/Lite. Do not assume Steam provides the same choice.
  • Official launcher Standard: Choose it if you have the necessary SSD space and want to target the guide’s recommended or High profile.
  • Steam: Choose it for Steam library integration, achievements and its account ecosystem, but plan around its current 130GB minimum or 200GB recommended listing.
  • Epic: Choose it if you prefer Epic’s account ecosystem, and budget around its displayed 100GB requirement with patch headroom.

Common installation and performance problems

“I have 60GB free, but installation fails.”

  • The selected official launcher package may be Standard rather than Quick/Lite.
  • You may be installing through Steam, whose current minimum listing is 130GB.
  • The current build or temporary installation files may need more space than the launch-era figure.
  • Previous launcher or test-build files may still occupy the drive. The official guide advises people who participated in an earlier test to uninstall the previous launcher and download the new one.

“The launcher does nothing when I click it.”

The official guide recommends trying the game executable from the game directory; if that does not work, reinstall the launcher.

“Windows says the file is incompatible.”

Check that Windows is 64-bit and that the PC meets the relevant profile. For the official launcher, also check the installation path: the guide says it must use the system language or English and warns that unsupported path languages can cause errors.

“It installs but runs badly.”

Published specifications do not promise a frame rate. Start with current GPU drivers, lower resolution and graphics settings, close memory-heavy applications, use an SSD if available, and check a laptop’s power and thermal settings. If the game exposes multiple rendering modes, testing another available mode may help; the cited sources do not establish a current menu path or specific mode names.

Bottom line: choose the number for your installer

For the official launcher’s November 2025 package distinction, 60GB means Quick/Lite and 100GB means Standard; neither is a universal current PC size. Steam players should use its current 130GB minimum and 200GB recommended figures, while Epic currently displays 100GB for both profiles. A 64-bit Windows PC, SSD and 32GB RAM align with the safer recommended targets in the cited requirements, but no listed profile guarantees a particular resolution or frame rate.
