The placements below reproduce the weapons and tiers shown in Pocket Gamer’s October 5 article. The descriptions are that guide’s assessments, not measured damage, win-rate or matchup results.

A naming discrepancy to notice
Pocket Gamer lists both “Heavenquake Spear” in S tier and “Heavenquaker Spear” in A tier. A separate build planner uses “Heavenquaker Spear” for a pairing with Strategic Sword. The sources do not establish whether the two Pocket Gamer entries are separate weapons or a spelling inconsistency, so this list preserves the names and placements as published rather than silently merging them. Check the in-game weapon name before treating them as distinct choices. The build planner was last verified October 6, 2026 and labels its information Version 2.2.
How to use the tiers when choosing weapons
A tier label is only one input. Pocket Gamer says players equip two weapons at once, and its guide recommends Strategic Sword with Heavenquake Spear for damage over time and burst alongside area damage. The build planner separately lists Strategic Sword with Heavenquaker Spear as the Bellstrike – Umbra path. Because the sources spell the spear differently, confirm the displayed name in your game rather than assuming the entries match.

- Content: Consider whether you are choosing for PvE, PvP or a particular challenge. Pocket Gamer’s own assessment distinguishes the Twinblades’ PvP appeal from its PvE performance.
- Role: Match your preference for damage with healing/support or defense. The guide presents Panacea Fan as support-oriented and Thundercry Blade as shield-focused.
- Damage pattern and positioning: Think about area versus burst damage, range and mobility, and whether you can manage a fragile or close-range weapon.
- Pairing: Judge the two weapons together rather than assuming the individual tier determines the best combination. The planner lists ten martial paths, but says its Inner Way, gear-set and stat recommendations were still being re-checked for Version 2.2; its path table alone does not prove an optimal build.
Pocket Gamer’s author, Connor Derrick, cautions that he did not investigate every Martial Skill or build, while saying the weapons on the list can handle most content outside specific challenges. That caveat is useful context for treating the rankings as a practical overview rather than a universal verdict.

The version labels in the consulted pages do not line up: Pocket Gamer’s October 5 list says Version 1.0.24, a fan evidence review checked September 13 covers Version 2.1, and the build planner last verified October 6 says Version 2.2. Those pages do not explain whether the labels reflect different platform branches, regions or versioning systems. Do not combine them into one patch-specific ranking without clarification.

The separate Version 2.1 weapon evidence review confirms eight weapon families and discusses selected official balance changes, but does not provide a complete official S/A/B order. It withholds PvE and PvP placements pending matched, repeatable tests. This does not negate Pocket Gamer’s recommendations; it means the tier placements should not be mistaken for an official or experimentally established order.
