If you mean a vampire who uses supernatural, ritual-like powers, Tremere is the closest fit: Paradox presents the clan as wielding ranged blood sorcery. If you mean a judge guided by a moral code, Banu Haqim offers a different role-play interpretation. Neither is an official priest build.
Which clan is closest to a priest playthrough?
Choose Tremere for the closest spellcaster analogy. Paradox describes the clan as controlling blood at range through arcane powers, including its own blood and the blood of enemies. That makes Tremere the strongest match for a player imagining a ritual-minded or magic-focused vampire, but “priest” is not the game’s official label for the clan. Paradox’s Tremere overview describes its combat identity as ranged and glass-cannon oriented.
Banu Haqim is the alternative if “priest” means an arbiter of right and wrong rather than a spellcaster. Paradox characterizes the clan as judges and lawbringers who follow a code, alongside a playstyle built around stalking, assassination, and strategic combat. Treat that connection as a role-play choice, not a mechanically defined priest path. Paradox’s Banu Haqim overview also notes that making Phyre a Banu Haqim changes how players approach combat.
How clan choice shapes a playthrough
Clan choice establishes a distinctive combat identity and gives the selected clan an exclusive passive. Paradox says players can unlock abilities and clan perks from other clans, but cannot learn another clan’s passive. A build can therefore mix abilities while keeping the passive associated with its chosen clan. The official clan descriptions establish different playstyles; they do not promise a wholly separate story campaign for each clan. Tremere, Banu Haqim, and Brujah each have an exclusive passive in Paradox’s descriptions.

Compare the role-play options
| Clan | Officially described playstyle | Fit for a priest-like concept |
|---|---|---|
| Tremere | Ranged blood sorcery; controls its own blood and enemies’ blood. | Closest to a mage, occultist, or ritual-minded vampire. “Priest” remains an interpretation. |
| Banu Haqim | Stalking, assassination, and strategic combat; members are described as judges and lawbringers who follow a code. | Could suit a moral-enforcer role-play concept, but is not an official priest class. |
| Brujah | Brutal brawling combat, with abilities that draw the player into the fight. | More natural for a frontline fighter than a priest-like character. |
The descriptions come from Paradox’s Tremere, Banu Haqim, and Brujah clan pages.
