There is no single best Castlevania collection for every player: Anniversary is the early-game sampler, Advance is the GBA-era set, Dominus collects the DS trilogy, and Requiem pairs Symphony of the Night with Rondo of Blood. Start with the games you want to play, then check that the collection is available on your platform and in your region.
Which collection fits what you want to play?
| Collection | Included games | Best fit | Officially listed platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Castlevania Anniversary Collection | Castlevania; Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest; Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse; Super Castlevania IV; Castlevania: The Adventure; Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge; Castlevania: Bloodlines; Kid Dracula | Early console and handheld games, especially the classic stage-based entries | PS4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox Series X|S |
| Castlevania Advance Collection | Circle of the Moon; Harmony of Dissonance; Aria of Sorrow; Dracula X | The GBA-era games, particularly Aria of Sorrow | PS5, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC/Steam |
| Castlevania Dominus Collection | Dawn of Sorrow; Portrait of Ruin; Order of Ecclesia; Haunted Castle Revisited; Haunted Castle | The DS trilogy, plus an arcade-game bonus in original and reimagined forms | Switch, PS5, Steam, Xbox Series X|S |
| Castlevania Requiem | Symphony of the Night; Rondo of Blood | Players specifically seeking these two games who have a supported PlayStation platform | PlayStation Store exclusive; Konami lists PS4 |
Anniversary’s lineup and platform details appear on Steam’s official bundle listing and Konami’s Anniversary Collection page. Konami lists the four Advance games and platforms on its Advance Collection page. The five-game Dominus lineup and platforms are on Konami’s Dominus Collection page. Requiem’s two-game lineup and PlayStation Store exclusivity are described in Konami’s announcement; its catalog lists PS4 in Konami’s product list.
Choose by game and style
For early classics and stage-by-stage action: Anniversary
Choose Anniversary if you want a broad sampler of the series’ earlier console and handheld lineage. Its eight-game roster includes the original Castlevania, Super Castlevania IV, Bloodlines, and the two Game Boy entries. This is the most natural starting point here for players who want the older, more direct stage-based games.
For the GBA games and Aria of Sorrow: Advance
Advance bundles Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow with Dracula X. The three GBA titles are the central draw; Konami highlights Aria of Sorrow’s Tactical Souls system on its product page. Note that Dracula X is not Rondo of Blood, which is included in Requiem.

#1 Best Overall
- LIMITED EDITION: Official Limited Run Games release #251 of the Castlevania Dominus Collection featuring Order of Ecclesia cover art for Nintendo Switch

For Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood: Requiem
Requiem is a focused two-game package rather than an all-era compilation. It is the match for someone whose priority is Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood, provided they can play on a supported PlayStation system. How the collections differ beyond their lineups
Advance and Dominus both advertise rewind and quick-save options, useful additions for players who want help recovering from a mistake or pausing an older game. Their other stated features differ:
| Collection | Officially described features |
|---|---|
| Advance | Rewind, save/load, replay, Japanese/American/European region selection, package scans, an encyclopedia, and four soundtracks, according to Konami. |
| Dominus | Quick saves, rewind, regional versions, a compendium, and music playlists, according to Konami. |
| Anniversary | A comparable feature list is not stated on the official Anniversary page cited here. |
| Requiem | Konami’s 2018 announcement describes the Requiem-specific presentation and audio options above; it does not establish a feature set comparable to Advance or Dominus. |
Check platform, region, and price before buying
Platform labels matter most for Requiem: Konami describes it as a PlayStation Store exclusive and lists PS4. Do not assume it is available on PC, Xbox, or Switch. For the other three, the official platform lists differ, so verify the specific store listing for your system before purchase.

Availability can also vary by territory. Steam warns that Dominus may not be available in some regions; confirm the regional store page before counting on it. Steam lists a bundle containing Anniversary, Advance, and Dominus, but its price and discounts are live, region-sensitive figures rather than stable prices. Compare the current individual and bundle listings in your territory before deciding which costs less.
Konami’s Dominus page lists a US price of $24.99; store prices can change. Anniversary and Advance current worldwide prices are not established by the official pages cited here. Konami announced Requiem at a US suggested retail price of $19.99 in 2018, which is historical, not a current price.

If you can buy only one
When you have no named game in mind, decide first whether you want direct stage progression or games centered more on exploration and character or system progression. Then narrow the choice to collections actually available for your platform and region. Raw game count is a poor tie-breaker: Anniversary has eight listed games, Advance four, Dominus five pieces of game content including two Haunted Castle versions, and Requiem two, but their lineups and formats are different. Official product pages do not provide comparable critic scores, completion-time measures, or owner surveys that would support an objective overall ranking.
These are recommendations based on the included games and publisher-described features, not a claim that one collection is universally best.
