The available figures do not provide comparable receiving production for McRee.

Use verified opportunity first
Targets and routes can help show whether a player is regularly involved, but the available team figures do not establish current targets or target shares for these tight ends. Do not infer a target total from receptions: catches are completed passes, while targets include passes that may not be caught. Freiermuth’s lead in catches gives him the stronger observed case in a reception-scoring league, while Washington’s near-equal yardage on fewer receptions makes him worth checking in formats where yardage carries more weight. Touchdowns can swing a weekly result, but the snapshot records only two for Freiermuth and one for Washington; that small difference is not a dependable promise of future scoring.

What the Steelers’ passing volume does—and does not—tell you
The same 2026 team snapshot lists Aaron Rodgers with 153 pass attempts. That provides context for the team’s passing activity, but it does not show how those attempts are distributed among tight ends or how many will be available in a particular matchup. Without verified weekly target totals, it cannot establish that either Freiermuth or Washington has a secure share of the passing game.

Freiermuth recorded 41 receptions, 486 yards, and 4 touchdowns in the 2025 regular season; in 2024, he had 65 receptions, 653 yards, and 7 touchdowns, according to the Steelers’ season statistics. Those completed-season totals provide background on his prior production, but they do not establish his current opportunity or guarantee a repeat.
