Lucia Caminos is one of Grand Theft Auto VI’s two central protagonists, alongside Jason Duval. Rockstar’s official biography says Lucia went to prison after fighting for her family, then set her sights on the better life her mother had dreamed of. The title’s “American Dream” framing captures that ambition; it is an interpretation, not a phrase Rockstar uses in Lucia’s biography.
Who is Lucia Caminos?
Lucia is a lead character in GTA VI, not a supporting figure. Rockstar features her alongside Jason Duval in its official character biographies, and describes the pair as people whose choices draw them into a dangerous criminal conspiracy.
Rockstar’s biography says Lucia’s father taught her to fight when she was very young. After she fought for her family, she was sent to Leonida Penitentiary; the company says sheer luck got her out. Her mother had dreamed of a better life since the family’s days in Liberty City, and Lucia is willing to take matters into her own hands to pursue it.
What is Lucia’s story with Jason Duval?
Jason has grown up around grifters and crooks. After serving in the Army, he worked for local drug runners in the Keys. Rockstar sums up his outlook this way: “Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder.” The line is from the company’s promotional character biography, not an independent assessment.

Rockstar’s official game overview says Jason and Lucia have long known “the deck is stacked against them.” An easy score goes wrong, pulling them into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida and forcing them to rely on each other. Lucia’s biography suggests a life with Jason could be her way out.
That establishes the broad setup, not the full plot: Rockstar’s published material does not reveal how their relationship develops or how the story ends. It also does not establish the game’s mechanics through these character descriptions.

When does GTA VI come out, and what versions are listed?
As of October 7, 2026, Rockstar’s store lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar lists standard and Ultimate editions. Its store also offers a physical code-in-box version, but the box contains a download code, not a disc. Check Rockstar’s store listing for current options; availability and details can vary.
The official listings establish the platforms and editions, but do not establish a performance comparison or platform-exclusive story content. A past May 2025 Take-Two announcement cited a May 26, 2026 launch plan; that earlier date has since been superseded by the current Rockstar and Xbox listings.
