Tejo is a Colombian Initiator who uses a controllable drone to suppress and reveal enemies and a map-targeted strike to pressure locations from a distance. He joined VALORANT in Patch 10.00 in January 2025, but he is no longer the game’s newest Agent: Riot identified Miks as the newest Agent in March 2026.
Who is Tejo in VALORANT?
Riot classifies Tejo as an Initiator from Colombia. His kit is built to help a team learn about enemy positions and force opponents out of locations, creating chances for teammates to take space. Riot’s Tejo agent profile describes his drone and tactical strike targeting map; Riot’s developer commentary explains the broader design goal.
Tejo joined the roster with Patch 10.00, whose rollout began January 8, 2025, at 9:00 AM PT, according to Riot’s Patch 10.00 notes.
What do Tejo’s abilities do?
Stealth Drone: scout, then apply pressure
Tejo can directly control his Stealth Drone and trigger a pulse. Enemies hit by the pulse are Suppressed and Revealed, according to Riot’s official ability description. The drone therefore combines information gathering with a way to disrupt opponents; its value is greatest when teammates can act on the information or capitalize on the pressure it creates.

Map-targeted strike: threaten a chosen route
Tejo’s tactical strike ability uses a map targeting interface: the player selects an origin and endpoint, and explosions travel along the chosen path. Rather than checking one angle at a time, this lets Tejo pressure a selected area from a top-down view. It can prompt opponents to move, but the team still needs to coordinate its follow-up to make that movement useful.
How should a team think about Tejo’s role?
Riot described Tejo as an Initiator who approaches map control “more top-down instead of taking angles one by one,” in comments from Ryan “Rycou” Cousart, Game Designer for Tejo. Agent Team Lead John “Riot MEMEMEMEME” Goscicki said Tejo’s ability to provide information about enemy locations lets him bring value more consistently. Both comments appear in Riot’s January 8, 2025 developer article.

- Information: Use the drone’s reveal to help identify where opponents are positioned.
- Pressure: Target the strike path to make opponents reconsider holding a location.
- Follow-up: Coordinate the push or repositioning with teammates; information and forced movement matter most when the team can respond.
Riot’s design commentary also notes a trade-off: precise targeting comes with a smaller area of impact. Tejo’s abilities are therefore best understood as targeted tools for shaping a round, not as guaranteed control of every position along a broad area.
Is Tejo still VALORANT’s newest Agent?
No. Tejo was new at his January 2025 launch, but Riot’s March 17, 2026 Patch 12.05 notes introduced Miks as the newest Agent. Riot’s March 31, 2026 Patch 12.06 post also mentioned an Agent called Brainrot, but explicitly framed the announcement as an April Fools joke. As of those March 2026 posts, Miks—not Tejo—held the newest-Agent distinction.
