If a game is missing from your Epic Games Library, first reset the Library filters and confirm you’re signed into the Epic account that claimed or bought it. Then check Account → Transactions → Purchases: a receipt or transaction record points to a library or entitlement issue; no Epic record usually means the purchase did not complete—or was made through another store. Restarting or clearing the launcher cache can fix display problems, but cannot restore a refunded, gifted, revoked, or wrong-platform purchase.
The right fix depends on what you see: a missing game tile, an “Unavailable” message, or a base game without its DLC. Work through the checks below in that order.
First, rule out a hidden game
- Open Library in the Epic Games Launcher.
- Select Filters in the upper-right. Uncheck Installed, then select Reset to remove other filters.
- Search for the game by its full or partial title. If you bought an edition or bundle, try the franchise or base-game name too.
- Select the refresh icon beside the Library heading.
The Installed filter shows only games already installed, so it can hide a purchased game you have not downloaded. Other filters can also narrow the list. Epic’s Library guide explains filtering and add-on management.
Also check whether the launcher’s Hide Game Library option is enabled. Turn it off and reopen Library. If the game remains missing, move on to the account and purchase checks before trying more involved launcher fixes.

Make sure you’re signed into the account that owns it
Epic libraries are account-specific. If you have more than one Epic account, a game claimed or purchased on one will not appear when you sign in to another. This can happen when you first created or used an account through Google, Facebook, PlayStation Network, Xbox, or Nintendo.
- Check the account email shown in Epic account settings.
- Sign out, then try the sign-in method you used when you claimed or bought the game.
- Compare the account with the email address on the purchase receipt.
- Open Account → Transactions → Purchases and look for the game or order.
If the transaction is listed, expand it and check whether it says Gifted to. A gift can appear in the buyer’s transactions while belonging to the recipient’s account; the buyer should not expect the game in their own Library. Use the receipt and transaction record to check whether the purchase completed
A missing tile does not establish that you own the game—or that the launcher has lost an entitlement. Check the Epic transaction history and your receipt:

- Both a receipt and transaction record are present: the transaction went through. Verify the account, filters, and platform, then try the launcher fixes below. If the entitlement is still missing, contact Epic Support with the order number and product name.
- Neither is present: Epic says the purchase did not complete. Check whether you bought it from another storefront. If your payment provider shows a charge or pending authorization, contact them first; if the payment is confirmed but Epic has no record, contact Epic Support as well.
- You paid with cash recently: Epic says processing can take up to five business days. Check again after that period.
- It is a pre-order: the game may not appear until its release date.

Check which store and platform sold the game
A purchase made through PlayStation Store, Microsoft/Xbox Store, Nintendo eShop, or Samsung Galaxy Store is handled by that platform and may not appear in Epic’s transaction history. Check the purchase history for the store where you paid. Linking a console account to Epic does not by itself mean every console purchase also grants a PC copy in the Epic Games Launcher. Entitlements and cross-platform access depend on the specific game and product.
If you bought a PC game from Epic but are using an operating system it does not support, it may also be unavailable to download or use there. Check the game’s supported platforms and the platform on the purchase or redemption before treating the issue as a library fault. Restart and repair the launcher display
If the account and transaction check out, fully exit the Epic Games Launcher, including from the system tray, and open it again. Sign back in, return to Library, and refresh it. If the game is still missing, clear the launcher’s web cache using Epic’s current instructions. Cache steps can differ by operating system and launcher version, so use Epic’s instructions rather than an old folder path.
Cache clearing can address a display or synchronization problem; it cannot reinstate a refunded game, a revoked code, a gift assigned to someone else, a failed payment, or an entitlement for another platform.
Advanced Windows step: rename the Saved folder
If ordinary checks and cache clearing do not help, Epic also documents resetting launcher state this way on Windows:

- Exit the launcher completely from the system tray.
- Press Windows key + R, enter
%localappdata%, and press Enter. - Open
EpicGamesLauncherand rename theSavedfolder toSaved.bk(or another backup name). Do not delete it. - Restart the launcher and check Library again.
This is an advanced, Windows-only step. Renaming keeps a backup if you need to restore the folder. See Epic’s launcher-state reset guidance.

An Unavailable label is different from a missing Library tile. First sign out of the launcher and back in. If that does not clear the status, try switching between the Library and Unreal Engine tabs if Unreal Engine is installed, then restart and clear the launcher cache. Epic also lists running the launcher as administrator or changing its language as troubleshooting tests; restore your usual settings afterward if either test makes no difference. If the base game appears but DLC or in-game content is missing
DLC does not always show as a separate Library game. Open the base game’s Manage DLC or Manage Add-Ons area and check whether the content is listed there. For an edition or bundle, search the base-game or franchise name rather than only the add-on title.
If the purchase is recorded but the content is not available in-game, check whether:
- the DLC has reached its release date;
- the game must be launched once to activate or synchronize the content;
- you need to reach a particular point in the game to unlock it;
- the title uses a secondary launcher such as EA App, Ubisoft Connect, or Paradox Launcher, where add-on management may happen; or
- the Epic Launcher or secondary launcher needs an update.
Some content is handled or surfaced outside the Epic Library tile. Epic’s guidance on missing games and DLC discusses secondary launchers and in-game requirements.
Reasons troubleshooting may not bring the game back
- Refund: Epic removes a refunded game from the Library. Check the transaction record and refund email.
- Revoked retail or promotional code: Epic says a code may be removed if reported as fraudulent. Contact the retailer that sold it; a launcher reset cannot restore a revoked code. Be cautious with unusually cheap keys from unverified marketplaces.
- Expired beta, demo, or press build: time-limited access can end with the event. Access to a temporary build does not necessarily mean you own the full release.
- Gift: if the transaction says Gifted to, the recipient’s account is the one to check.
- Rare store removal: Epic’s Store EULA describes rare cases where software may be removed from the Store and become unavailable for further download or access. This is an exception, not the first explanation to assume for a missing tile.
When to contact Epic or the retailer
Contact Epic Games Support if your Epic transaction or receipt confirms the purchase but the game or content is still missing after you verify the account, platform, filters, and launcher state. Include:
- the game or DLC name and order number;
- the purchase date and the Epic account used (do not post account details publicly);
- a receipt screenshot with payment or other sensitive details redacted;
- your platform and operating system, the exact symptom, and the steps you tried.
If there is no Epic transaction because you bought through a console or mobile storefront, contact that store’s support. If a retail key was revoked or never granted correctly, contact the retailer. For a charge without an Epic transaction, ask your payment provider whether it completed before escalating the confirmed payment to Epic.
