Most Among Us problems fall into three groups: a connection problem (disconnects, lag), a lobby problem (you can’t find a game or can’t join a friend’s), or a device problem (the game crashes on mobile or won’t run on your hardware). Work out which group you’re in, then run the matching checks below. Innersloth’s official help material covers all three, but none of these checks can confirm whether the game’s servers are down at the moment you’re playing.
Start by identifying the symptom
Use this table to choose where to start. Each row links to the detailed section that follows.
| Symptom | First checks | Capture before reporting |
|---|---|---|
| Disconnections or lag | Reset or switch your network; try another game region; close other apps | Platform, region, time and time zone, error capture; a player log on PC |
| Can’t find or join a lobby | Confirm your region matches the region of the game code; check your distance from the listed server locations | Each player’s selected region, and whether the same lobby or code works in a compatible region |
| Mobile app crashes | Confirm you have the latest game version; check the v17.3.1 update note | Device, operating system, game version, when the crash happens, error capture |
| Game won’t run on your device | Check the official platform and device support list | Exact device model and operating system |
Disconnections and lag
Innersloth’s Help Center article on disconnections and high ping says these problems can have many causes, and that narrowing them down to one can be difficult. It also states that these are common issues for online games. The steps below are diagnostic: they help you find out whether the problem sits on your network, your device, or the game’s routing. None of them is a guaranteed fix.
- Disconnect your device from the internet and reconnect, or toggle the connection off and on.
- Try a different network. On Android or iOS, if you have both, compare Wi-Fi with cellular data.
- Close other apps and programs, especially anything downloading, updating, or streaming.
- If you play from North America and the problem continues, switch to Europe or Asia to see whether the disconnects persist there.
A region switch tests the route between you and a server. It does not promise lower ping, because a farther server can be slower for you even when it is more stable.

Can’t find or join a lobby
Among Us tries to place you in the closest region, but a game may be hosted in another region. Game codes only work for the region you are in: a player outside that region cannot use the code. So a lobby that seems to be missing is often a region mismatch rather than a broken install.
- Ask every player in the group which region they have selected in the game.
- Make sure everyone is in the same region as the game code you’re using.
- If you’re in a country far from the listed server locations, expect connection issues to be more likely, and try the region closest to you.
Innersloth’s server-region article, dated November 2025, lists the following server locations:

Mobile app crashes
Start by checking that you have the newest version of the game from your app store, since crashes are often tied to a specific build. Innersloth’s Mobile Update – v17.3.1 note, dated April 8, 2026, says crashes on mobile caused by the previous update were fixed. That note applies to the crashes it describes. It does not establish that every mobile crash has been resolved.
If the game still crashes after updating, the crash is probably a separate problem. Note the device, operating system, game version, and the moment the crash happens, then send that information to Innersloth’s helpdesk.

Among Us is listed for Steam, Epic Game Store, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, and itch.io. Innersloth’s help page names Mac and Chromebooks as examples of devices that are not officially supported. The page states that these examples are not a complete list of unsupported devices, and platform support can change. Check the official support page before assuming a device will or won’t work.
Checking whether the servers are down
The connection steps above cannot tell you whether Innersloth’s servers are having an outage. If several players across different networks are disconnecting at the same time, check Innersloth’s official channels and your platform’s status page while you’re playing. If an outage is confirmed, your own settings will not fix it, and waiting is the only option.

If nothing works: what to send Innersloth
When the checks above don’t resolve a disconnection or lag problem, Innersloth asks for the following details. Gather them before you write to support so the report can be acted on.
- Your platform, for example Android, iOS, or Xbox.
- Your server region: North America, Europe, or Asia.
- Screenshots or a video of the error.
- The time of the disconnection, including your time zone.
- A player log, if you play on PC.
Steam’s Among Us technical-issue page names Innersloth as the game’s developer and publisher and directs players to official support, so that is the right channel for the report.
