Roblox usually loads forever for one of five reasons: a Roblox outage, a network that cannot complete the game connection, firewall or browser interference, corrupted app data, or an unsupported device or broken experience. Before reinstalling, check the live Roblox Status page, try another experience, and test a different network. Those three checks quickly show whether the fault is global, experience-specific, network-specific, or local.
First, identify what is actually stuck
“Loading forever” can describe different failures. Note which one you have:
- The Roblox website never finishes loading.
- The app opens, but no experience will join.
- Only one experience remains on its loading screen.
- Your avatar appears, but the world or assets never finish loading.
- Roblox repeatedly says “Getting Latest Roblox.”
- The app freezes, crashes, returns to the home screen, or displays an error code.

Fix Roblox loading in the safest order
1. Check whether Roblox is down
Open status.roblox.com and look for incidents involving Games, Game Join, Website, Mobile App, Xbox App, or your relevant platform. During an incident, reinstalling Roblox or changing DNS cannot repair the service. Roblox says joining may be delayed or unsuccessful until the incident is resolved; wait and retry afterward (official outage guidance).
2. Try another experience
If other experiences open, the failing one may contain a bad script, excessive objects, or another creator-side fault. Roblox identifies defective experiences as a possible cause. Contact the creator or check whether other players report the same problem (Roblox connection guidance).

3. Fully restart Roblox and your device
- Close Roblox completely rather than minimizing it.
- Restart the phone, tablet, computer, Chromebook, or console.
- Open Roblox again and test a different experience.
Force-closing and rebooting are part of Roblox’s mobile troubleshooting instructions for iOS and Android.
4. Test another network
Try a phone hotspot or another Wi‑Fi connection. If Roblox works there, investigate the original router, ISP, DNS, VPN, parental controls, school or workplace filtering, and firewall. Roblox lists approximately 4–8 Mb/s as a minimum connection, but speed alone does not guarantee successful joining; stability, latency, packet loss, and filtering matter (computer requirements).
5. Remove browser and security interference
- Temporarily disable ad blockers and other browser extensions, or retry in a private/incognito window.
- Use a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari release.
- Check antivirus, firewall, VPN, router filtering, and parental-control software.
- After testing, restore protection and create an allow rule instead of leaving antivirus disabled.
Roblox specifically warns that browser add-ons can prevent an experience from fully loading. Its connection guidance lists UDP ports 49152–65535; ordinary home users should not casually port-forward this broad range. Network administrators may need the information for managed networks (source).
6. Clear browser data or app data
For a website or launch-handoff problem, clear Roblox cookies and cached files, restart the browser, and test another supported browser. This can sign you out (website troubleshooting).

On Android, use the manufacturer’s equivalent of Settings → Apps → Roblox → Force stop, then reopen it. If necessary, use Clear data and reinstall from Google Play; clearing data removes local app data and signs you out (Android guidance).
On iPhone or iPad, force-close Roblox, restart the device, then delete and reinstall the app. Verify Roblox cookies and automatic date and time (iOS guidance).
7. Update everything and verify compatibility
Install pending Roblox, browser, operating-system, and console updates. According to Roblox’s current requirements pages:
- Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, with DirectX 10 or higher feature-level support; Roblox recommends at least 300 MB of installation storage.
- macOS: 10.13 High Sierra or newer.
- Linux: not supported.
- ChromeOS: version 53 or newer with Google Play Store enabled.
- iOS/iPadOS: 14 or newer.
- Android: 8.0 or newer with OpenGL ES 3.0 support.
Meeting a minimum does not guarantee smooth loading in large experiences. Low free memory, background apps, heat, and heavy graphics workloads can still cause stalls. Newly released or prerelease operating systems may not yet be supported (computer requirements; mobile requirements).

8. Reinstall Roblox when files or updates are corrupted
An endless “Getting Latest Roblox” loop usually means Roblox did not install correctly. Uninstall and reinstall it; if the loop remains, follow Roblox’s launcher guidance (official instructions).
For Windows, Roblox’s error-279 guidance gives this destructive clean-data sequence:
- Uninstall Roblox.
- Open Command Prompt and run
cd AppDataLocal. - Run
rmdir /s Robloxand confirm deletion. - Restart Windows and reinstall Roblox.
This deletes the local Roblox folder. Use it only after uninstalling and only when you understand that local data will be removed (Roblox error-279 guidance).
9. Set date and time automatically
Enable automatic date and time, restart Roblox, and reboot the device if needed. Roblox includes clock verification in its iOS, Android, Fire OS, ChromeOS, and error-279 troubleshooting.

Platform-specific checks
Windows
Check firewall and antivirus permissions, browser launch handoff, supported 64-bit Windows, DirectX support, free storage, and corrupted local files. Use the clean reinstall above only after simpler tests.
Mac
Use macOS 10.13 or newer, reinstall Roblox if needed, test another network, and check System Settings → Privacy & Security for Roblox permissions. Menu names vary by macOS release.
iPhone and iPad
Prioritize force-closing, rebooting, reinstalling, automatic date and time, and available memory. Error 292 indicates a low-memory warning on iOS.
Android
Force stop Roblox, restart the device, clear data if necessary, reinstall, use automatic date and time, and compare Wi‑Fi with cellular data. Some devices meet the Android version requirement yet remain unsupported or perform poorly.

Amazon Fire
Roblox lists supported minimum generations including Fire 7 ninth generation, Fire HD 8 eighth generation, Fire HD 10 ninth generation, and Fire Max 11 thirteenth generation (requirements).
Chromebook
Use ChromeOS 53 or newer with Google Play enabled. Update ChromeOS, force-close Roblox through the ChromeOS task manager, reinstall the app, and test another network.
PlayStation
Restart the console, check PlayStation Network status, update the console and Roblox, test another experience, and reinstall if standard console troubleshooting fails. Roblox directs persistent app problems to Sony’s troubleshooting flow and then Roblox Support (PlayStation guidance).
Xbox
Restart the console, check Xbox and Roblox service status, update the app, test another experience, and use Roblox’s current Xbox support category. Avoid applying Windows cache commands to a console.
Use the error code as a branch
- 279 / ID 17: the client cannot establish a network connection with Roblox servers. Check status, network, firewall, app data, and reinstall options (official explanation).
- 266: connection timed out.
- 292: iOS low-memory warning.
- 268: unexpected client behavior; investigate client integrity and connection conditions.
- 264: the same account was launched into an experience from different devices.
- 267: banned from a specific experience.
- 529: HTTP communication error; check Roblox Status before assuming your device is at fault.

When none of the fixes works
Run two final isolation tests: sign into another account on the same device, and sign into the affected account on another device. If only one account fails everywhere, stop repeatedly reinstalling and contact Roblox Support. Include your username, exact code or message, device model, operating-system and Roblox versions, affected experiences, results from another network and account, the approximate start time with time zone, screenshots or a recording, and recent network, security, device, or account changes (support requirements).
