Private Division announced a new studio in the greater Seattle area on February 20, 2020, dedicated to the Kerbal Space Program franchise and the development of Kerbal Space Program 2 (KSP2). The publisher initially forecast the sequel for fiscal 2021, but KSP2 did not reach PC Early Access until February 24, 2023. Intercept Games’ reported closure in 2024 is a separate development from the game’s status: Take-Two said updates would continue at that time, but the sources available here do not establish what has happened since.
Why did Private Division open a Seattle studio for Kerbal Space Program 2?
Private Division described the studio as dedicated to the Kerbal Space Program franchise, giving the sequel a development team focused on the series. The February 20, 2020 announcement named Jeremy Ables as studio head, Nate Simpson as creative director, and Nate Robinson as lead producer—all continuing their work on KSP2. It referred to the location only as the greater Seattle area, not a specific neighborhood or office address.
Then-EVP and Head of Private Division Michael Worosz said the studio’s purpose was “dedicated solely to the ongoing development of KSP,” framing it as a commitment to the franchise and its future. The announcement reported that the original Kerbal Space Program had sold more than 3.5 million units worldwide; that was a historical figure published in 2020, not a current sales total.
How did the original release forecast compare with the launch?
The 2020 announcement forecast KSP2 for Take-Two fiscal 2021, which ran from April 1, 2020, through March 31, 2021. That was a forecast window, not a release date the game met. Private Division and Intercept Games announced PC Early Access on February 24, 2023.

|---|---|---|
| Studio announcement and KSP2 forecast | February 20, 2020; fiscal 2021 (April 1, 2020–March 31, 2021) | Private Division’s original announcement and target window, not the eventual launch. |

The 2023 launch release said the original Kerbal Space Program had sold more than 5 million units worldwide. That later historical figure also concerns the original game, not KSP2 sales. The launch announcement listed an introductory Early Access price of $49.99 at the time; it should not be treated as a current price.
What did the Early Access roadmap promise?
At launch, the publisher described Early Access as the beginning of a planned sequence of feature updates. The roadmap included technology progression, colonies, interstellar travel, multiplayer, modding support, bug fixes, and quality-of-life work. These were launch-era plans, not confirmation that every feature shipped.

What happened to Intercept Games?
In May 2024, Game Informer reported that Intercept Games had closed. Its report cited a Washington employment notice describing a Seattle office closure affecting 70 jobs and reporting from Bloomberg. The closure claim is reported information, not a definitive public closure announcement by Take-Two cited here.

Where can players look for KSP2 now?
Private Division support says its own store closed on December 18, 2024, and directs customers to Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo Store, and other third-party storefronts. This is general publisher guidance, not confirmation that KSP2 is currently listed or available on every named store. Was Logitech G compatibility announced?
The 2023 launch announcement named Logitech G as a partner for peripheral lighting integration. That announcement does not establish compatibility with every Logitech G product, nor does it provide model-specific compatibility details.
