Steven Ogg, who played Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V, says he feels “nothing inside” about GTA 6 because he is not a gamer and has never played video games—not even the game that made Trevor famous.
What Steven Ogg said about GTA 6
In a YouTube exchange reported by GamesRadar+, Ogg was asked whether he was excited for the next Grand Theft Auto. “I feel nothing inside,” he replied, later explaining: “I’m not a gamer. I’ve never played video games.” He summed up his reaction as: “So I feel absolutely nothing.”

That is a statement about his personal interest in games, not a judgment of GTA 6. HotHardware also reported the exchange and Ogg’s explanation that he had never played GTA V or any other video game: HotHardware’s report, published September 22, 2025.
Why he has not played GTA 5
Ogg’s explanation is straightforward: he says he is not a gamer and has never played video games, including GTA V. When someone suggested he should play the game, he recalled answering, “Well, one day you should read Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment.” The comparison turns the recommendation around: Ogg is as uninterested in taking up gaming as he assumes the other person may be in taking up a long Russian novel.

What the exchange does—and does not—say
GamesRadar+ describes fellow GTA V actor Shawn Fonteno, who played Franklin Clinton, interjecting dismissively about the book. The report notes that it is unclear whether Fonteno knew the context of Ogg’s comment.
Ogg’s remark should not be read as evidence that he hates the series, dislikes Trevor, or has rejected a role in GTA 6. GamesRadar+ notes that he had previously denied hating Grand Theft Auto and his character. The exchange establishes his lack of personal interest in playing games; it does not establish anything about his casting or the game’s quality. Nor does it represent Rockstar’s view: the comments are Ogg’s, as reported from a video conversation.
