For Wild Rift, the best settings are the ones your device can run smoothly and that let you aim and read the screen comfortably. Choose performance over visual detail if frame rate or stability suffers; use the highest FPS option the game currently offers and your device can sustain. Then adjust ability timing, HUD visibility, and any available control options to suit how you play. Options and menu labels can change with patches, so the live in-game Settings menu is the authority.
Choose graphics settings for stable play
Graphics presets trade visual quality against performance. Riot’s Patch 2.2 notes described Performance as prioritizing in-game performance, FPS, and stability at the expense of graphics. Graphics prioritized visual quality while balancing stability, at the expense of FPS. These are descriptions from that patch, not a guarantee of identical behavior on every device today.

- Start with Performance if you notice stuttering, inconsistent frame delivery, or heat-related slowdowns.
- Try Graphics if the game runs comfortably and you prefer greater visual detail.
- Use Custom if available and you want to adjust individual graphics options rather than choose a preset.
Riot introduced Performance, Graphics, and Custom presets in its Patch 2.2 notes. A later patch or your device may present different choices.
Set FPS to the highest stable option offered
In Patch 2.2, Riot documented 40, 90, and 120 FPS options. At the time, 90 FPS was intended for high-end devices with higher refresh rates, and the 120 FPS beta was limited to specific device models. Riot also warned that higher frame rates could cause overheating or performance degradation. Those options and device qualifications are historical; they are not a current compatibility list or a promise that every device can select them.

In the current game, select the highest FPS option actually shown for your device, then lower graphics quality if performance becomes unstable. If the game heats up or frame delivery worsens, step down to a lower available FPS setting. This is practical guidance, not a measured performance guarantee.
Adjust ability activation to your preference
Riot added an “On Button Down” option in Patch 3.3 for abilities that are neither aimed nor targeted. Riot said this activates those abilities a few frames quicker. If fast activation matters to you, try the option where it is available. For aimed abilities, prioritize the aiming method and timing that feel controllable; faster activation is not automatically better when precision matters.

Riot documented this change in its Patch 3.3 notes, published July 13, 2022.
Make the HUD readable without obscuring play
HUD choices are personal: prioritize buttons and information you can see and reach comfortably without blocking important parts of the battlefield. Wild Rift’s Patch 5.0 notes introduced an in-game interface section under Controls with options for HUD, strategy panel, and store transparency, a strategy-panel timeline toggle, and an attack-indicator style setting. Riot said that update did not change existing players’ settings.

Use the available transparency and display options to improve readability for your screen and preferences; the patch notes do not establish one layout as best for every player. See Riot’s Patch 5.0 notes for the options introduced at that time.
Check champion controls and button layout
Control options may be grouped by function or champion. Riot’s Patch 6.1 notes added a Champion Controls tab under Controls and UI, moving options including “Quick cast empowered attacks,” “Cast on button press,” “Flash Combo,” and “Manual Aim Time Limit.” The update also added a Rumble-specific joystick dead-zone option. A regional 6.1 note separately says button transparency was added to Custom Button Layout settings.

These labels and locations come from Patch 6.1 and may have changed. Look in the current Controls and UI settings for champion-specific controls, joystick dead-zone adjustments where supported, and custom button-layout options. A dead-zone setting is relevant only when the game offers it for that control or champion; do not assume it is a universal joystick setting. Riot’s Patch 6.1 notes document the changes.

Menu paths and availability can shift across patches, and device support can differ. Open Settings in Wild Rift and inspect the current Graphics and Controls sections rather than relying on an old device list or remembered menu path. Riot’s official site listed Patch 7.3a on September 29, 2026, underscoring why patch-era instructions should be checked against the live game. Riot’s Wild Rift site provides the current patch listing.
