The PS5 Pro-only claim began as an unverified leak, while a later secondhand report said console development builds were running at 30 FPS at the time. Neither report establishes the final frame rate.
Where did the PS5 Pro 60 FPS claim come from?
In July 2025, leaker Detective Seeds claimed GTA VI was reaching 60 frames per second on PS5 Pro across multiple graphical settings, with Sony engineers helping Rockstar. The claim was attributed to an unnamed PlayStation engineer; it was not a statement from Rockstar or Sony. Push Square reported it as a rumor and noted that details could change before release.

That makes “GTA 6 is targeting 60 FPS on PS5 Pro” an unverified leak, not a confirmed platform specification. It also does not establish that the Pro would be the only console capable of running the game at 60 FPS.
What does the reported 30 FPS development figure mean?
A later report attributed a comment to Rob Nelson, co-studio head at Rockstar North, saying that console builds were running at 30 frames per second “during this development period.” The account was secondhand, relayed through Davy Jones and summarized by GTA Playbook and GTASix.org. Rockstar has not confirmed the statement in the cited reporting.

- Faster Loading - Fast-travel across the map and get back into the game almost instantly with the PlayStation 5 console’s ultra-high-speed SSD and fast load times.

- Backwards Compatibility - Play over 4,000 PS4 games on PS5. Enjoy faster and smoother frame rates in some of the PS4 console's greatest games.
The reported figure describes builds at a particular point in development. It is not a final, announced shipping target, nor does it prove that every console version will run at 30 FPS. The account said the technical team had not settled whether a 60 FPS option would be available at launch or later.
Does PS5 Pro Enhanced mean GTA 6 will have 60 FPS?
No. The PS5 Pro Enhanced designation alone does not specify a frame-rate target. The cited reporting says Rockstar has not published a specific GTA VI resolution, frame rate, or other enhancement tied to that designation. It is not evidence that the game will have a 60 FPS mode, or that it will outperform the other console versions in frame rate.
Which consoles are confirmed, and what performance is known?
Take-Two Interactive’s June 24, 2026 announcement lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release date of November 19, 2026. It also says the physical boxed version will contain a download code. Those are product details, not performance specifications.

The cited sources do not settle final frame rate or resolution on any of these consoles, or confirm ray tracing or a 60 FPS mode. Do not treat either the leak or the reported development figure as a substitute for per-console shipping specifications.

Not on the assumption that GTA VI is guaranteed to run at 60 FPS on it. The cited evidence does not promise that benefit. If you are deciding whether to upgrade, weigh your current console, the games you play beyond GTA VI, the upgrade cost, and features that have actually been confirmed for the system you are considering. The available reporting does not support ranking PS5, PS5 Pro, or Xbox Series X|S by GTA VI frame rate.
