Winning Eleven 2012 was a real Konami football game for Android, but “Winning Eleven 2012” was generally not the name used for the US Android release. In the US and other Western markets, the official app was called PES 2012 Pro Evolution Soccer and used the package name com.konami.pes2012. World Soccer: Winning Eleven 2012 was the Japanese and Asian branding for the same numbered entry, although regional content and licensing could differ.
The original Android release appeared in November 2011, was later recorded at version 1.0.5, and was discontinued from Google Play in December 2012. Current “WE2012 APK,” “Winning Eleven 2012 MOD 2026,” and similar pages are normally third-party archives, repacks, or fan modifications—not new official Konami releases. They may also be difficult or impossible to install on Android 14, 15, or newer.
What is the US version of Winning Eleven 2012 called?
For a US Android user searching for “Winning Eleven 2012,” the most relevant official title is PES 2012 Pro Evolution Soccer. The archived Android listing associated with Konami used the package name com.konami.pes2012 and identified the developer as Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH.
| Search phrase | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| PES 2012 Pro Evolution Soccer | The US, European, and broader Western-market branding |
| World Soccer: Winning Eleven 2012 | The Japanese and Asian branding for the numbered entry |
| WE2012 | Fan shorthand for the Winning Eleven-branded edition |
| PES 2012 Android | The historical official Android app, package com.konami.pes2012 |
| Winning Eleven 2012 APK | An ambiguous label that may refer to an archive, regional build, repack, or modification |
| Winning Eleven 2012 MOD 2025/2026 | Almost certainly a fan-made modification, not a newly released Konami game |
This means “US” is best understood as a regional naming qualifier. The available historical evidence supports PES 2012 as the US/Western Android store title, rather than a separate official US product literally called Winning Eleven 2012. The regional title mapping is documented in the archived Android listing, release-name data, and the series history summarized by Wikipedia.

When was PES 2012 released on Android?
The Android version became available in November 2011. Its first Android launch was promoted as a temporary Xperia PLAY exclusive, taking advantage of that phone’s physical gaming controls. Broader Android availability followed the initial exclusivity period.
Contemporary launch reports described a price of approximately $7 in one territory and £5.13 in another, while AppBrain recorded a historical price of approximately €4.20. These figures varied by region and should not be treated as one universal US price. See the contemporaneous reports from Europa Press, Pocket Gamer, and DroidGamers.
Historical Android release details
- Original availability: November 2011
- Developer listed in the archive: Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH
- Package name:
com.konami.pes2012 - Last recorded version: 1.0.5
- Build number: 1000005
- Last recorded update: May 25, 2012
- Google Play removal: AppBrain records the listing as removed on December 29, 2012; its archived notice said the app would be permanently discontinued after December 31, 2012
The historical version and removal information comes from AppBrain’s archived listing. “Latest version” should therefore mean the last known official version, 1.0.5—not a mirror page that happens to have been edited or uploaded in 2025 or 2026.
What features did the original Android game include?
PES 2012 on Android was more substantial than a simple exhibition-only football game. Contemporary coverage described an edition adapted for touchscreen devices and Xperia PLAY controls, with several of the modes and competition features associated with the console and handheld versions of PES 2012.

- Facebook score-sharing or related social integration
These features were reported by Europa Press, Pocket Gamer, and DroidGamers.
Do not interpret the licensed competition branding as proof that every club, player, or league was fully licensed. Contemporary user feedback recorded substitute club names—for example, Arsenal appearing as “North London.” Regional versions could also differ in their teams, names, and licenses.
Is Winning Eleven 2012 still available on Google Play?
No—not the original Android release. The old official PES 2012 listing is no longer downloadable through Google Play. The archived store record indicates that it was removed in December 2012.
The current official Konami football game identified in the Android store is eFootball™, package jp.konami.pesam. It is a modern live-service game, not a reissued version of PES 2012 or Winning Eleven 2012. The Play listing identifies KONAMI as the developer, requires approximately 2.9 GB of free storage, and states that an internet connection is required to play. It also includes modern live-service features such as advertising and in-app purchases.
Konami’s official mobile-football history and successor branding can also be reviewed in its official announcement. A current eFootball installation should not be described as an offline replacement for the 2012 game.
Are current WE2012 APK downloads official?
Usually not. A webpage updated in 2025 or 2026 does not show that Konami released a new version of the 2012 Android game. It may only indicate that the website updated its page, changed its download link, or published a fan modification.

Common labels that indicate a third-party build include:
- “MOD 2025” or “MOD 2026”
- “Latest transfers” or “2026 season”
- New kits, current rosters, or current competitions
- “Fully unlocked” or “unlimited money”
- “No verification” or “patched”
- Claims that the game is the “official latest Konami version” despite the discontinued 2012 store listing
Some pages explicitly describe their Winning Eleven 2012 downloads as mods. For example, the FAQ at winningeleven2012.com uses mod terminology, while other pages advertise current-season patches such as this example. Those products may be useful to mod users, but they should not be confused with the preserved official Android release.

It means that a download page, filename, or “original APK” claim does not establish provenance. Signing, hash, file structure, and independent provenance all matter—and even those checks do not establish that a download is legally distributed.
How to identify the historical Android release
If the goal is authenticity rather than a modern roster patch, the following information is consistent with archived metadata for the old PES 2012 Android release:
| Check | Historical value | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Package name | com.konami.pes2012 |
A useful identity check, but not proof that the file is unmodified |
| Version | 1.0.5 | The last recorded official Android version in the available archive data |
| Build | 1000005 | Consistent with the archived 1.0.5 release |
| Architecture | armeabi |
Indicates an old ARM build and raises compatibility concerns on modern devices |
| Data | Separate cache or OBB associated with com.konami.pes2012 |
The APK alone may not contain everything required to start the game |
| Content claims | No “2026,” “unlocked,” or current-season language | Current rosters and unlimited currency indicate a modification |
One archive reports the following SHA-256 hash for a file named PES2012_1.0.5.apk:
d58a309badebff6e3cd540fd704998d79c1c03c4da88c701dc174eeeb45a2381
The same archive reports a signing certificate fingerprint beginning:

These values are archive metadata, not an independently verified guarantee of Konami authenticity. They are useful only if you can compare the complete values against an independently preserved copy from a trustworthy source. The metadata is reported by Captain Droid’s archive page.
APK and OBB: what the old installation contained
Unlike many modern Android games, the historical distribution commonly consisted of a relatively small APK plus a much larger data package. Archived technical listings report:
- APK: approximately 29.8 MB
- Separate cache or OBB data: approximately 165–167 MB
- Total historical footprint: roughly 200 MB before installation overhead
Some archive pages describe the entire download or installation as approximately 200 MB, while others separate the APK from the larger data file. These figures are different ways of counting the same approximate installation footprint; they do not mean that the APK itself necessarily occupied 200 MB.

- Hall Effect Joysticks and Triggers
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light and tactile.
- 2 Pro back paddle buttons
- Profile button. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings. Turbo function.
Old community instructions commonly placed the data under:
/sdcard/Android/obb/com.konami.pes2012/
The usual historical sequence was to install the APK, extract the data archive, place the resulting com.konami.pes2012 folder in the Android OBB directory, and then launch the game. These were community instructions—not a current Konami support procedure—and modern Android versions may restrict access to those directories. Historical examples can be found at 3rabroid and Meurobozinho.
Why PES 2012 may not install on Android 14, 15, or 16
The fact that an APK is genuine does not mean that a current phone can install or run it. PES 2012 was built for the Android environment of 2011–2012, before current target-SDK rules, storage protections, and many modern device architectures.
Low target-SDK restrictions
Android 14 blocks installation of apps targeting an API level below 23. Android 15 raises the minimum installable target API level to 24 and can report INSTALL_FAILED_DEPRECATED_SDK_VERSION for an app below that threshold. The relevant behavior changes are documented by Android 14 documentation and Android 15 documentation.
The old game’s exact target SDK is not established by the supplied archive metadata, so it is better not to claim a specific target level for PES 2012. However, its 2011-era release and reported minimum Android requirement make it a plausible candidate for these restrictions.
Old native libraries and ARM support
Archive metadata identifies an old armeabi build. Modern phones may use newer ARM configurations, and Android devices can differ in how they support legacy native libraries. Even if installation succeeds, the game may crash, show a black screen, fail to render correctly, or stop during startup.
OBB, storage, and licensing problems
Modern storage rules can make it difficult to copy data into the old OBB location. The game may also expect licensing or network behavior that no longer works outside the original Google Play distribution. A missing data file, a mismatched package folder, a modified signature, or a broken license check can all produce similar symptoms.
Android 16 compatibility should be treated as unconfirmed. There is no basis for promising that the original game works on all Android 14, 15, or 16 phones. Compatibility depends on the Android release, CPU architecture, GPU drivers, storage access, screen configuration, APK modification status, and whether the necessary data can be loaded.
Common installation errors and what they mean
| Symptom | Likely causes | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| “App not installed” | Low target SDK, signature conflict, damaged APK, or architecture mismatch | Confirm the package and file integrity; do not assume repeated installation attempts will fix a target-SDK block |
| “Parse error” | Corrupt download, incompatible package format, or unsupported installer | Obtain a complete APK from a known archive and verify its hash; avoid renamed or partial files |
| Installs, then immediately closes | Old native libraries, missing OBB, obsolete licensing call, or incompatible Android behavior | Check that the data matches the package and test on a compatible older environment |
| Black screen | Graphics/API incompatibility, missing data, or device-specific rendering failure | Try no claim of universal compatibility; community reports document this problem on some recent devices |
| “License verification failed” | Non-Play installation, altered APK, obsolete licensing check, or missing purchase entitlement | Do not bypass security or licensing prompts with an unknown patch |
| Game repeatedly asks for data | OBB in the wrong directory, incorrect folder name, or mismatched APK/data files | Use the exact package folder com.konami.pes2012 and confirm that the data archive extracted correctly |
User reports of black screens and failures on newer devices are useful as warnings, but they are not universal compatibility tests. Reports from places such as CommentÇaMarche and Reddit should be read as individual device experiences.

Can you bypass Android’s old-app installation block?
Android’s developer documentation gives a testing-oriented ADB option for installing some apps blocked by Android 15’s low-target restriction:
adb install --bypass-low-target-sdk-block FILENAME.apk
This is not a guarantee that PES 2012 will run. It does not repair missing OBB data, obsolete licensing, incompatible ARM libraries, graphics crashes, or a malicious APK. It is documented as a mechanism for testing old-target applications, not as a routine consumer fix. If an APK fails because it is suspicious or damaged, bypassing a device safeguard is the wrong response.
Security checklist for third-party APKs
Because the official listing is gone, anyone considering an archived copy should treat the file as untrusted until it has been checked. No download page can prove that an APK is safe or original.
- Keep Google Play Protect enabled. Google says Play Protect scans apps from Google Play and apps installed from other sources, and may warn about, disable, or remove harmful apps. See Google’s Play Protect guidance.
- Do not disable device security just because the installation fails.
- Do not trust “original APK” as a label. Compare package name, version, complete hash, signature information, and provenance where possible.
- Assume MOD, patched, unlocked, unlimited-money, and latest-transfer builds are modified.
- Avoid fake download pages with multiple buttons, forced notification permissions, browser redirects, or requests to install a separate downloader.
- Never enter credentials for Google, Konami, Facebook, or payment services into a third-party APK installer or download page.
- Remember that an antivirus scan is not an authenticity certificate. A file can be clean yet modified, unofficial, or improperly distributed.
What may still work offline?
If the original executable and data load successfully, basic offline matches may still be playable. That possibility should not be confused with a guarantee that all historical services remain operational.

- Offline matches: may work if the preserved APK and data start correctly.
- Online, social, Facebook, friend-team, purchase, licensing, and verification features: should be considered unsupported or unreliable.
- Multiplayer: must be described precisely. Local play, Wi-Fi play, Facebook sharing, and server-based features are not the same thing.
Do not promise working multiplayer merely because an old APK page still lists it.
Do not confuse the native Android game with emulation
Search results for Winning Eleven 2012 on Android can also refer to a PSP or PlayStation 2 game running through an emulator, a fan-made port, or a modified native Android APK. These are different products and have different compatibility requirements.
For example, PPSSPP compatibility reports concern PSP versions of PES or Winning Eleven 2012. They do not prove that the native Android package com.konami.pes2012 works on a current phone. An emulator may require a legally obtained game image and can have its own performance, control, and graphics issues.

Which option is best for different goals?
| Your goal | Most suitable route | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Authentic 2012 Android experience | Use a historically preserved, unmodified PES 2012 Android build with matching data in a compatible older-device or controlled emulator environment | High provenance, installation, licensing, and compatibility risk; no official support |
| Current official Konami football | Install eFootball™ from Google Play | Requires internet, substantial storage, and accepts modern live-service features, ads, and in-app purchases |
| Current rosters and kits in a 2012-style game | Recognize that “MOD 2026” downloads are fan modifications rather than official releases | Modification provenance and security vary; the game may be unstable or altered beyond recognition |
| Preservation through older hardware | Use a lawfully preserved console or handheld version on compatible original hardware or an emulator | Requires the appropriate hardware/software and does not provide the native Android release |
If the priority is an official, supported Android football game, eFootball is the clear current Konami option. If the priority is the original 2012 experience, a preserved older environment is more realistic than expecting a random APK to run correctly on Android 15 or 16.

Bottom line: what “Winning Eleven 2012 for Android US” really means
The game was genuine, but the search phrase combines regional names. A US reader probably remembers or wants the Android release sold as PES 2012 Pro Evolution Soccer, while World Soccer: Winning Eleven 2012 was the Japanese and Asian branding for the same numbered PES entry.
The official Android package was com.konami.pes2012, with the last archived version identified as 1.0.5. Its Google Play listing was discontinued in 2012. Current pages advertising “WE2012 APK,” “MOD 2026,” current transfers, or unlimited money are third-party archives or modifications unless independently proven otherwise. They are not evidence of a new Konami release, and even an authentic archive may fail on modern Android because of low target-SDK rules, old ARM libraries, storage restrictions, missing data, or obsolete licensing functions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Was Winning Eleven 2012 officially released for Android?
Yes. The underlying Konami Android game was real, but the US and Western listing was generally called PES 2012 Pro Evolution Soccer. The Japanese and Asian branding was World Soccer: Winning Eleven 2012.
What package name did PES 2012 Android use?
The archived Android release used the package name com.konami.pes2012. Package name alone does not prove that an APK is original or unmodified.
Can I download the original Winning Eleven 2012 from Google Play?
No. The original PES 2012 Android listing was discontinued and is no longer available through Google Play. The current official Konami Android football game is eFootball, which is a different modern live-service product.
Will PES 2012 run on Android 14 or Android 15?
There is no reliable universal answer. Android 14 blocks apps targeting below API 23, and Android 15 raises the minimum installable target to API 24. Even if installation is bypassed or succeeds, old native libraries, missing OBB data, graphics problems, and licensing checks can prevent the game from running.
Are Winning Eleven 2012 MOD 2026 APKs official?
They should be treated as unofficial fan modifications. Current rosters, kits, transfers, unlimited money, and “2026 season” claims describe modifications, not a newly updated official Konami release.
The Bottom Line
In short: the authentic US Android game was PES 2012 Pro Evolution Soccer, package com.konami.pes2012, not a current official product called Winning Eleven 2012. Konami discontinued it from Google Play in 2012. Archived copies may exist, but their provenance and safety vary, and compatibility with Android 14, 15, or 16 is uncertain. For a supported current Konami game, use eFootball; for the original experience, a verified archive on compatible older hardware is the more realistic preservation route.
