For looping prerecorded video in a YouTube live stream, the reviewed Telestream documentation does not show that you need Wirecast Pro: it documents playlist and clip looping controls without identifying them as Pro-only. Pro’s currently stated advantages include support for more simultaneous remote guests and ISO recording. If you only need to play prerecorded video and send it to YouTube, the available evidence does not establish a reason to choose Pro solely for looping.
Does Wirecast Studio loop prerecorded videos?
Yes. Telestream’s Wirecast 16 Windows user guide documents a playlist When Finished setting called Loop, which returns the playlist to its first shot endlessly. Telestream’s current product page also describes Wirecast as supporting prerecorded video and streaming to YouTube. The guide is for Wirecast 16, so its interface labels and details may differ in other releases.
How the playlist and final clip interact
Playlist looping and a video clip’s own end behavior are separate settings. If a playlist ends with a video clip, the clip’s When Finished behavior in Source Properties affects what happens when playback reaches its end. The guide describes a playlist set to Hold remaining on its last shot, while the final video source can independently be set to hold or loop. For a multi-item playlist, check both the playlist behavior and the last clip’s source behavior.

The current Telestream product page is the basis for the guest limits and ISO recording distinction. The detailed comparison sheet is several years old; it is not sufficient by itself to confirm current differences across production, input, output, or monitoring features.

Which edition should you choose for a looping YouTube stream?
Choose based on what else the production needs
- Studio may be sufficient if your requirement is prerecorded video, a looping playlist, and YouTube output, and you do not need the additional Pro capabilities established here.
- Consider Pro if you need up to seven simultaneous remote guests rather than Studio’s up to two, or need ISO recording of isolated camera feeds.
- Verify any other claimed Pro-only feature against Telestream’s current edition comparison before paying for an upgrade. The older comparison sheet should be treated cautiously.
The sources reviewed do not establish current Wirecast prices or subscription terms, so compare current checkout and edition details directly before buying.

With Wirecast, use the playlist and video-source end behaviors described above, then stream the production to YouTube. This keeps the production workflow in Wirecast, but it also means the computer running the stream must remain available for the broadcast.
