WNBA League Pass is a low-cost way to watch many games live and catch replays, but in the United States it is not a complete live-TV replacement. National broadcasts and local broadcasts of your market’s WNBA teams are blacked out live. Before choosing, check the games you want, your ZIP code, and which channels or services carry them.
What does WNBA League Pass include?
The WNBA’s product page currently lists League Pass at $39.99 per year. It advertises live games, every game on demand, hundreds of archived games, streaming on three devices, select alternate and Spanish broadcasts, rewind controls, and live stats. Price and packaging can change, so confirm the terms shown when subscribing. The page’s ZIP-code lookup helps check availability: WNBA League Pass.
The key distinction is that “every game on demand” does not mean every game is available live in every US market. Blackouts reflect broadcast exclusivity: as the WNBA Help Center explains, “Blackout restrictions exist because local and national content providers have certain exclusive rights to televise live games and content.”
Can I watch every WNBA game on League Pass?
No—not live in the United States. The WNBA says live League Pass viewing is blocked for nationally televised games and for locally televised games of the viewer’s local WNBA teams. The league’s blackout policy lists national distributors including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Amazon Prime Video; that list can change. Check the current policy and schedule rather than assuming a service name or an earlier season’s rights still apply: WNBA blackout restrictions.

For 2026, the league announced 216 nationally distributed games across its partners out of 330 regular-season games. Its announcement gives schedule counts of 30 ABC/ESPN games, 31 Prime Video events or games, 20 CBS/Paramount+ broadcasts, 50 ION games, 48 USA Network games, and 15 NBA TV games. Those are league-published schedule figures, not a promise that any one service carries all those games or that all remaining games are available live on League Pass. See the 2026 broadcast schedule announcement.
Why is my WNBA game blacked out, and when can I replay it?
Blackouts depend on where you are watching and the game’s broadcast rights. The WNBA says it determines location using an IP address or device location services; in the US, ZIP code identifies the local teams subject to blackouts. Restrictions may change when your location changes.

| Blackout type | Live on League Pass? | When the replay becomes available |
|---|---|---|
| US national broadcast | No | 6 a.m. ET the following day |
| US local broadcast of a local team | No | Shortly after the game concludes |
| Canada national broadcast on TSN, Sportsnet (SN), CTV, or CTV2 | No | Shortly after the game concludes; the national TV provider is the live option |
The WNBA also identifies the All-Star Friday Night event, All-Star Game, and Commissioner’s Cup championship as unavailable live on League Pass in the US and Canada, with on-demand access after each event concludes. For international viewers, the league says games are available live in countries where League Pass operates, subject to country-specific broadcast rights and availability. Consult the blackout policy for the applicable territory.
Where can I watch a blacked-out WNBA game live?
Start with the game’s listing on the official schedule, then check the listed distributor and the local channel lineup for your ZIP code. Depending on the game, the live option may be a local broadcast station, regional sports network, or national distributor. A cable or live-TV streaming package can help with games it carries, but neither category guarantees all games: rights and channel availability differ by game and market.

The 2026 national slate spans ABC/ESPN, Prime Video, CBS/Paramount+, ION, NBC/Peacock/NBCSN, USA Network, and NBA TV. A service carrying one of these brands does not necessarily provide every WNBA game on that network, and a channel may not be included in every plan or region. Verify the exact matchup and current package lineup before subscribing.
Is League Pass cheaper than cable or live TV streaming?
At the currently listed $39.99 per year, League Pass is a clear price for its own access, but it cannot be ranked as a universal substitute for cable or live TV streaming. Those options vary in price, channel lineup, and local rights, and the total cost depends on the games you want and services you already pay for. Compare the League Pass price with the actual package and any add-ons needed in your area—not with a provider’s headline offer alone.

- Choose League Pass first if you mainly want out-of-market games, replays, and archives, and can accept the blackout windows.
- Check cable or live TV streaming first if seeing your local team live or watching nationally televised games is essential. Confirm each desired game’s channel.
- Use both only if needed when your must-watch games are split between League Pass and channels that carry excluded live broadcasts.
Can I watch WNBA League Pass on my TV?
The WNBA lists iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Apple TV among supported platforms. Its purchasing help page describes subscriptions through WNBA.com, Apple App Store, Google Play, and—in select markets—its app or channel on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Android TV. Check the current device and market details at League Pass availability and supported devices.
Purchase route matters. The WNBA says League Pass purchased through Amazon Prime is watchable only on Amazon Prime platforms; the league describes Prime Video Channels as the exclusive third-party digital distribution destination for League Pass in the US and select international markets. A Prime membership alone does not mean League Pass is included, and a Prime-billed subscription should not be assumed to unlock viewing in the WNBA app. Details: How to purchase League Pass.
How do billing, renewal, and cancellation work?
The WNBA says desktop purchases are available as annual or monthly subscriptions. Annual subscriptions renew each year on the purchase anniversary; monthly subscriptions renew every 30 days unless cancelled. App-store or device subscriptions are managed through the original purchase channel. Under the subscriber agreement, most subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled by the stated deadline; cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the paid period, and current-term fees are not refunded. Review the terms shown at checkout and use the same channel to manage the subscription: WNBA League Pass subscriber agreement.
Are there League Pass discounts?
The WNBA FAQ describes a 40% discount on the annual plan for eligible undergraduate or graduate college students in select markets, listing Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. Eligibility and offer terms can vary, so confirm them through the official League Pass FAQ before purchase.
