If World of Warships keeps crashing on PC, first check whether it started after a game update, a mod change, or a graphics-driver change. Those clues can guide a focused test, but none guarantees a fix. The available evidence is mostly historical Wargaming release notes—not a current official repair procedure—so use the steps below as cautious diagnostics and consult current Player Support if they do not help.
Start with what changed before the crashes
Note when the crash happens and what changed just beforehand: installing or updating mods, updating the game, or restoring/updating a graphics driver. These are investigation leads, not a ranked list of causes. Historical release notes describe different issues in different client versions; they cannot identify the cause of a present-day crash.
- After a mod change or game update: test the unmodified game, because older Wargaming notes warned that mods could become incompatible after updates.
- After a graphics-driver change: check whether the crash began immediately afterward. A past client update fixed a driver-related crash scenario, but that does not establish that your driver is at fault.
- Without an obvious change: check current official system requirements and graphics support before assuming the PC meets them.
Test the game without mods
Wargaming’s November 7, 2017 notes for Update 0.6.13 advised players having trouble with mods to try the normal game in Safe Mode through the launcher, then remove the mods if needed. The note’s launcher labels and instructions are historical; verify whether your current launcher offers the same option.
- Open the World of Warships launcher and look for a Safe Mode option, historically accessed from the drop-down arrow next to Play.
- Launch the normal game in Safe Mode and check whether the crash still occurs.
- If the launcher does not provide that option, or the crash continues, consult current Wargaming Player Support before changing or deleting client files.
A Safe Mode test that changes the result makes mod compatibility worth investigating; it does not prove which mod caused the problem. Update 0.9.6 also recorded unstable client operation and crashes associated with outdated modification files after an update. That is version-specific history, not a reason to delete or edit folders using old instructions.

Check graphics support against current requirements
Use Wargaming’s current official system requirements to check your graphics card and supported graphics API. Do not treat old release notes as today’s minimum specification: Update 0.8.3 described a DirectX 10.1 threshold and warned that DirectX 10.0 cards might not run stably, while Update 0.9.9 later described ending support for cards below the requirements current at that time. Both are dated records, not current hardware guidance.
Consider driver changes without guessing at a fix
Update 0.10.8 listed fixes for crashes after restoring or updating graphics-card drivers and after closing the client. This shows that driver changes and client-version-specific bugs have been relevant in the past, but it does not diagnose a current crash or identify a suitable driver for your GPU and Windows version. Do not roll back or install a particular driver based only on those notes; check current official guidance for your exact setup.

When to contact Wargaming Player Support
If the crash persists after the focused checks above, use current Wargaming Player Support for guidance specific to the current client and your PC. The historical notes do not establish a current diagnostic sequence, nor do they support generic instructions to collect particular logs, delete files, run a repair tool, or reinstall the game. Follow support’s current directions rather than applying old release-note workarounds.
Past update notes also document other crashes and fixes in particular versions. That history is a reminder that a fix for one client version or crash scenario may not apply to another; it does not establish today’s crash frequency or a universal solution.
