WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2 is reported to run smoothly. Nintendo Life’s review found responsive menus and no apparent performance problems, including during a Royal Rumble, and said the game appeared to run at 60fps in the reviewer’s play. That is a reviewer’s observation, not a lab benchmark. The same coverage also notes that the Switch 2 version looks less detailed than current home consoles, so smooth performance comes with visual compromises.
What the review actually observed
Nintendo Life’s review is the main hands-on source for how the game runs on Switch 2. It describes menus that respond quickly and reports no performance issues in the sessions the reviewer played, including a Royal Rumble match, which is one of the more demanding modes to run on any platform. The reviewer says the game appeared to run at 60fps “as far as I can see.” That wording matters. It is an impression from play, not a frame counter reading, and the review does not describe a test across several matches, modes, or system settings.

The available coverage also does not break out frame-rate results for docked and handheld play separately, so the 60fps impression should be read as a general one rather than a figure for each way of playing.
What 2K’s patch notes say
2K’s WWE 2K support page lists a July 2025 update, patch 1.21, with the note “Stability and Performance improvements.” It states that Switch 2 players receive the same updates under patch number 1.20. The patch notes are dated July 21, 2025, and were updated on July 22, 2025.

The notes list the changes as stability and performance work, but they do not say what those changes were or how much they affected frame rate. The positive reports cannot be attributed to that patch alone. The review and the patch notes are separate pieces of evidence that point in the same direction.
What is established, and what is not
The table separates the four questions readers tend to blend together: how the game runs, how it looks, what it includes, and what the sources cannot tell us.

| Question | What the sources establish | Source | What is not established |
|---|---|---|---|
| Responsiveness and stability | Menus are responsive; no performance issues apparent, including a Royal Rumble | Nintendo Life review | No measured stability test or number of sessions stated |
| Frame rate | Reviewer says the game appeared to run at 60fps | Nintendo Life review | No independent frame counter; not broken out by docked or handheld play |
| Graphics compared with PS5 | Slightly less texture detail than the PS5 version; otherwise described as sharing much in look and play | Nintendo Life review | No same-build side-by-side measurement |
| Graphics compared with home consoles | Falls short of current home consoles in graphical fidelity | TechRadar | No numerical comparison given |
| Game modes | Full set of game modes and match types, according to 2K | 2K announcement | Whether every mode matches other platforms in detail: not stated |
| Online and community features | No cross-platform Community Creations or image uploader | 2K announcement; Nintendo Life | Whether a later update changed this: not stated |
Taken together, the sources support a narrow conclusion. The reviewed Switch 2 version was reported to run smoothly, the patch history includes stability and performance work, and the visual and feature trade-offs are real. They do not support a claim that the game is flawless in every mode or setup.
Handheld play
Handheld play is the reason many buyers choose Switch 2 for a game like this, and it is the point the sources address least directly. Offline modes can be played on the go, and online modes require an internet connection, according to 2K. Beyond that, no source reviewed gives a separate handheld benchmark, handheld frame-rate figure, or handheld-specific stability test. If handheld performance is the deciding factor, the Nintendo Life review is the closest evidence available, and it does not isolate handheld results.

Modes, features, and online requirements
- Modes: 2K says the Switch 2 version supports the full set of game modes and match types.
- Offline play: Offline modes are available on the go.
- Online play: Online modes need an internet connection. Online features require a Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account, as stated in 2K’s announcement.
- Missing features: The Switch 2 version does not support cross-platform Community Creations or the image uploader. Nintendo Life also flags image-upload integration as a caveat.
The missing community and upload features are the most concrete limitation the sources identify. Anyone whose WWE 2K habits depend on sharing custom creations across platforms should check this before buying.
Is this the last WWE 2K game on a Nintendo system?
TechRadar describes WWE 2K18 as the last WWE 2K entry on a Nintendo system before WWE 2K25. That is retrospective editorial reporting, not an official franchise chronology. On the evidence reviewed, WWE 2K25 is the most recent WWE 2K release on Nintendo hardware, and the headline’s word “last” should be read in that sense. This article does not establish whether a later Nintendo release has been announced, and it does not confirm that WWE 2K25 runs on the original Switch.

- The sources date from July 2025. Later patches, service changes, and any changes to online conditions are not covered, so check the in-game update history for the current version.
