WWE 2K26 roughly doubles the storage limits for the two main character-creation systems, adds new body and hair tools, expands arena and entrance editing, and gives Universe mode a draft system and a setup wizard. The core figures and features below come from 2K’s February 17 and March 6, 2026 announcements. Everything here is what the publisher says the game does. None of it has been independently tested for ease of use or quality.
Character creation: 200 Superstar slots and 2,000 image slots
The biggest headline number is capacity. According to 2K’s February 17, 2026 announcement, Create-A-Superstar slots rose to 200 and Create-An-Image slots rose to 2,000. The publisher describes both as double the previous count, which puts the earlier limits at 100 and 1,000. The March 6 release announcement repeats the 200 and 2,000 figures, so the capacities are consistent across 2K’s pre-launch and launch messaging.

Body morphing and hair color blending
2K highlights two visual tools for Create-A-Superstar. Body morphing lets players mix and match body parts, and the March 6 announcement describes it alongside deeper body and face morphing tools. Two-tone hair color blending lets a single hairstyle carry two colors. 2K describes these as additions to the creation suite. It does not provide sliders, ranges, or step-by-step examples, so anything beyond the headline description is something to check in the game itself.
Image creation and body paint
Create-An-Image is the place for logos, graphics, and custom art, and 2K’s announcements center its expansion on the 2,000-slot capacity. The publisher’s material does not say how large an uploaded image can be, which file formats are accepted, or how it maps onto a ring canvas. Readers asking whether a logo can sit at the centre of a ring should treat that as unconfirmed by 2K’s announcements. The arena options that are confirmed are covered in the arena section below.

Platform differences on Nintendo Switch 2
The Switch 2 version has creation features that 2K calls out separately. According to the announcements, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls can be used to add and customize body paint, and the mouse controls also work in Creation Suite for face and body painting. The Switch 2 release also supports Image Uploader and cross-platform Community Creations.
2K attributes these details to the Switch 2 version specifically. Do not assume identical input or upload behaviour on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC until you have confirmed it in that version.
Create-an-Arena and entrance editing
Arena editing is the other major expansion 2K announced. Create-an-Arena adds LED barricades and more choices for ring aprons and announce tables. The announcements do not list the number of options in each category, so readers comparing this with earlier editions should check the current menus directly.
Advanced entrance timeline
The entrance-motion timeline is available for custom entrances. 2K names four versions that entrance motions can be built around: default, champion, double champion, and Money in the Bank. The announcements describe this as an advanced timeline, which points to a structured editor rather than a simple selection menu. They do not describe its length limits or the number of keyframes it supports.

Universe mode: draft, wizard, and show controls
Universe mode remains a sandbox where players control feuds, storylines, and match outcomes. Three additions stand out in 2K’s material.
WWE Draft
The WWE Draft lets players trade Superstars between show rosters over a week. Drafts can be created, edited, or removed, so a league can be reshaped without starting a new save. 2K does not state how many rosters or Superstars a draft can involve.
Universe Wizard
The Universe Wizard covers the setup decisions that used to take longer to configure by hand. It lets players select weekly shows and premium live events (PLEs), assign Superstars and champions, and choose the calendar’s starting month. Because the wizard runs at setup, it determines the starting structure of a save.
Title, briefcase, and promo rules
2K’s February notice sets specific limits on show structure. A show can support up to eight men’s and women’s division titles, including tag titles and intergender-supported championships. Each show also has two Money in the Bank briefcases. Promo options are wider than before:

Platforms and availability
WWE 2K26 is listed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Physical retail and digital download are both listed as ways to buy it. The special editions were announced as available March 6, 2026, with the Standard Edition scheduled for March 13, 2026. Those are launch dates from the announcements, not a statement about current stock or pricing. Check your platform’s store for the current listing before you buy.
Updates since launch
Patch 1.19 was published October 6, 2026 and updated October 7, 2026, according to 2K’s support page. The notes cover stability and performance improvements, new Island shop items, audio and presentation updates, and fixes for entrances and cutscenes. The patch notes do not change the 200-slot and 2,000-slot figures or the Universe specifications listed above.

All of the features above are publisher-announced. Nothing here comes from hands-on testing, a user study, or an independent comparison with earlier WWE games or rival wrestling titles. 2K’s own commentary is promotional. Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts, said: “Our team has managed to outdo themselves once again, with additions and improvements to every single game mode in WWE 2K26.” That is a studio statement about its own work, not evidence that every mode is better in practice.

The announcements also leave several practical questions open: how easy the new tools are to use, how the morphing controls perform on each platform, and whether the expanded arena and entrance options produce the results players want. Judge those by playing the game on your hardware.
The clearest way to evaluate the creation tools is to compare the capacities and listed features above with your own needs. If you care most about custom art, check Create-An-Image and the platform-specific upload options first. If your main interest is league structure, the Universe Wizard and WWE Draft matter more than character slots.
