The reported change concerns Xbox Cloud Gaming through the TV app—not every game or gaming service on a Samsung TV.
Which Samsung TVs are affected?
The reported notice applies to Samsung Smart TVs from model year 2020 that have been used to access the Xbox app. It says Samsung TVs from 2021 onward can continue streaming, but the report does not identify exact affected 2020 model numbers. Check your TV’s model year rather than assuming that every Samsung set is covered.
Windows Central says Microsoft emailed users whose accounts had previously accessed the Xbox app on a 2020 Samsung Smart TV. The quoted opening reads: “You’re receiving this email because your account previously accessed the XBOX app on a 2020 Samsung Smart TV.” Windows Central
When does Xbox app support end?
The date in the reported email is November 3, 2026. It says: “Starting 3 November, the XBOX app will no longer be supported on 2020 Samsung Smart TVs.” The date and wording come from the email quoted by Windows Central; the available information does not establish whether the app will disappear from affected TVs or simply cease to be supported.

Why is the app losing support?
The email attributes the change to Xbox Cloud Gaming updates that are no longer compatible with the operating system version on the affected models. It does not provide technical details about the incompatibility, so a more specific explanation would be speculation.
Microsoft’s public technical documentation confirming the cutoff was not identified in the cited reporting. The November 3 date, affected model-year scope and explanation should therefore be understood as details reported from Microsoft’s email, not as a published compatibility list.

Can I still play Xbox games on my Samsung TV?
The reported cutoff is specifically for using the Xbox app to stream games through Xbox Cloud Gaming on a 2020 Samsung Smart TV. It does not say that the TV itself becomes unusable for gaming or that other games and services on it stop working. Xbox’s Samsung launch announcement described cloud-enabled game streaming without a console, using a Bluetooth controller; that app-based route is the one relevant to the notice. Xbox Wire
