But this is a title-by-title shift, not confirmation that every Xbox game is headed to PlayStation: Xbox has also called Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution Xbox console exclusives. Here’s what Xbox had confirmed, what dates have passed, and which rumored ports remain unverified, based on announcements available through October 4, 2026.
Which Xbox games have come to PlayStation?
In February 2024, Xbox announced four games for Sony platforms, describing them as fan-favorite Xbox games. Its announced arrival dates have all passed. Xbox also specified cross-play for Grounded and Sea of Thieves; it did not make a general cross-progression promise for these games.

|---|---|---|---|
| Pentiment | PS4 and PS5 | February 22, 2024 | Xbox announced the date; current store availability is not established here. |
| Hi-Fi RUSH | PS5 | March 19, 2024 | Xbox said pre-purchase would be available through PS5 digital storefronts. |
| Grounded | PS4 and PS5 | April 16, 2024 | Xbox announced cross-play across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC. Xbox reported 20 million players; that is a publisher figure, not an independently audited total. |
| Sea of Thieves | PS5 | April 30, 2024 | Xbox announced cross-play across Xbox, PlayStation and PC. Xbox described its community as more than 35 million players; its announcement did not specify a measurement method. |
These were four specific announcements, not a blanket promise that all Xbox-published games would move to PlayStation. In 2024 reporting on the move, the Associated Press said Phil Spencer excluded Starfield and Indiana Jones from those four at that time. That is historical context, not evidence of either game’s current platform plans.
What Xbox announced for PS5 in 2025
Xbox’s June 8, 2025 showcase recap listed PS5 for several games. The slate mixed Xbox-associated releases with titles that should not all be described as former Xbox exclusives.

| Game | PS5 announcement | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 | PS5 listed as a platform | A platform listing, not evidence that this was formerly an Xbox exclusive. |
| Gears of War: Reloaded | PS5 listed as a platform | An Xbox-associated release confirmed for PS5 in the recap. |
| Ninja Gaiden 4 | PS5 listed as a platform | The recap includes it in a mixed-platform slate; do not label it a former Xbox exclusive on that basis. |
| The Outer Worlds 2 | PS5 listed as a platform | An Xbox-associated release with PS5 included in the recap. |
| Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 | PS5 listed as a platform | The recap confirms a platform listing, not a prior Xbox-console-exclusive status. |
The same recap listed PS5 for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants, which is story DLC, and for Sea of Thieves seasonal content. Those are announcements about additional content for games, not new standalone game ports.
What Xbox announced for PlayStation in 2026
Xbox’s January 2026 Developer Direct recap announced PlayStation plans for three games. The dates and windows below are the plans given in that announcement; because they have elapsed by October 4, 2026, they should not be mistaken for confirmation of present-day store availability.

| Forza Horizon 6 | PS5 release planned after its initial launch | Later in 2026; Xbox gave May 19, 2026 as the announced Xbox/PC launch date. |

Xbox’s June 2026 showcase recap said Halo: Campaign Evolved would launch July 28, 2026, with up to five days of early access from July 23, and said pre-orders were available across Xbox, Steam and PlayStation. Those dates have passed. The announcement concerns this game; it does not establish a PlayStation plan for another Halo title.
Are Xbox games still exclusive?
Yes, according to Xbox’s June 2026 showcase recap, at least two named titles remain Xbox console exclusives: Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution. Xbox explicitly described them as “XBOX console exclusives” and said they are not timed exclusives. The same passage said games already announced for multiplatform release would stick to those plans.

That points to individual platform decisions, not a single rule for every Xbox game. A PlayStation announcement for one game does not establish a port for another game from the same franchise, studio or publisher.

A past rumor, or the fact that another game from the same publisher received a PlayStation release, is not confirmation. For a specific title, distinguish an official platform announcement from reporting, speculation and an unverified claim.
How to check a PlayStation release announcement
When deciding whether to wait for a PS5 version, check the exact title and the type of release being discussed:
Quick Recap
- Look for PS5 or PS4 in an official platform listing. Xbox showcase recaps and announcements can confirm a planned platform, but a platform listing alone does not tell you whether the game is currently available.
- Separate a plan from a release. Compare the stated launch date or window with the current date and check the game’s official store page for present availability. Dates that have passed are not, by themselves, proof that a release happened as planned.
- Check whether the listing is for the base game or additional content. A DLC expansion or seasonal update for an existing multiplatform game is not a standalone game port.
- Read the announcement for cross-play or cross-progression details. Xbox explicitly announced cross-play for Grounded and Sea of Thieves in 2024. Do not infer cross-progression, or extend those features to other games, unless the relevant announcement says so.
- Keep exclusivity claims title-specific. Xbox’s June 2026 wording applies to Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, not automatically to other releases.
