The official Xbox Year in Review was a 2024 recap, not a currently available 2025 edition. Xbox said it would be available in select markets only through January 31, 2025, so that access window has expired. Windows Central reported in December 2025 that Xbox had not released an official 2025 recap; it pointed to a third-party TrueAchievements feature as an alternative.
What Xbox Year in Review showed
Xbox’s 2024 recap personalized a set of statistics about an individual player’s gaming activity. According to Xbox’s announcement, it included:
- Total time played and total achievements
- Top genres and the month with the most gameplay
- The player’s three most-played games, with statistics for those games
- A visual design based on the player’s most-played game and a personalized gaming profile
- Friends played with most, plus dedicated Game Pass and Rewards sections
Xbox also said players could share their recap with one click on mobile. These are features described in Xbox’s announcement, not independently verified results. Xbox Wire’s December 4, 2024 announcement
How to access the official recap—and why it no longer works
For the 2024 edition, Xbox directed players to Xbox.com/YearinReview, where they could sign in to their Xbox account, view their trends, and optionally share the results. Xbox limited availability to select markets and set January 31, 2025, as the end of the access period. That date has passed. The announcement does not establish which markets were included, so availability should not be assumed for a particular country.

Xbox’s 2023 recap followed a similar sign-in route and included games played, Gamerscore earned and a comparison with lifetime Gamerscore, total time, achievements, genres, busiest month, and top three games. That edition also ended on its stated cutoff, January 31, 2024; it is historical context, not evidence that either recap remains accessible. Xbox Wire’s 2023 announcement
Was there an official Xbox Year in Review for 2025?
Windows Central reported on December 11, 2025, that Microsoft had no official feature at that time for recapping a player’s yearly gameplay time, achievements, and Gamerscore. A separate report on December 18, 2025, likewise said there was no official 2025 recap. Xbox’s official archive surfaced in the available material lists the 2024 announcement as its latest Year in Review Tool post. The December 18 article relayed a reporter’s sources suggesting resources had shifted toward Xbox’s 2026 anniversary programming. That was not an explanation issued by Xbox, so it should not be treated as confirmed company policy. The available reporting does not establish whether an official recap will return in 2026.

Windows Central reported the following requirements and limitations:
- Users could sign in with an Xbox Live or TrueAchievements account.
- First-time users had to grant access to their information, confirm they were at least 16, and agree to the site’s terms.
- The feature required at least three Xbox games released in 2025.
- Accounts registered during 2025 showed only games started after January 1, 2025.
- Users could refresh the infographic after playing more.
These conditions are attributed to Windows Central’s report. The TrueAchievements page could not be independently checked for this article, so confirm the site’s current terms and eligibility requirements before connecting an account. Windows Central’s report on the alternative
