Microsoft launched its Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 accessories collection on October 16, 2024, ahead of the game’s October 25 release. It includes a standard Xbox Wireless Controller, an Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and a fitted Xbox Series X console wrap.
The controllers are Black Ops 6-themed Xbox Design Lab configurations rather than a new Xbox console or a conventional fixed hardware bundle. Launch prices started at $84.98 for the standard controller and $164.98 for the Elite version, while the wrap launched at $54.99. Current Design Lab pricing varies by configuration and region, and the U.S. Microsoft Store listing observed for the wrap showed it as out of stock.

Black Ops 6 Xbox Wireless Controller
The standard controller uses Microsoft’s regular Xbox Wireless Controller platform, decorated with a 1990s spy-thriller look built around redacted documents, hidden coordinates and Black Ops insignia. Microsoft offered it through Xbox Design Lab, so buyers could select colors and finishes rather than simply purchasing one unchangeable design.

Available options included button, trigger and grip colors, metallic components, optional rubberized side and back grips, and custom engraving. The artwork and finishes are cosmetic; rubberized grips are the more practical upgrade. Microsoft did not announce exclusive in-game functionality, special Black Ops 6 content or a performance feature unique to this controller.
Microsoft said the controller works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, iOS, Android, and selected Samsung and Amazon Fire TV devices using Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth. The exact connection method and feature set depend on the host device, so PC, mobile and TV buyers should check Microsoft’s device-specific compatibility information before ordering.
Who should buy it?
It is the sensible choice for fans who want the Black Ops 6 design on an everyday controller, particularly Xbox and PC players who do not need pro-controller controls. The main premium over a regular Xbox Wireless Controller pays for the themed Design Lab treatment and any selected upgrades. Microsoft’s cited U.S. reference price for a standard Core controller was $64.99, although live pricing may differ.

It does not include rear paddles, adjustable thumbstick tension or hair-trigger locks. Adding metallic parts, premium grips or engraving can also push the final Design Lab price above the starting figure.
Black Ops 6 Elite Wireless Controller Series 2
The Elite version combines the Black Ops 6 theme with the normal Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 feature set. That includes four interchangeable rear paddles, adjustable-tension thumbsticks, shorter hair-trigger locks, replaceable components, a metal D-pad and metallic trigger options, along with customizable buttons, finishes and optional engraving.
Microsoft positioned these controls as a fit for Black Ops 6’s Omnimovement system. That is a product-positioning claim, not proof of a guaranteed competitive advantage. The controller does not unlock special game features; its value comes from whether you will actually use paddles, trigger locks and adjustable sticks.

Who should buy it?
Choose the Elite version if you already prefer pro-style controllers or have a specific use for its extra controls. For a casual player buying mainly for the artwork, the standard Design Lab controller is the better-value route.

Microsoft’s cited U.S. reference pricing listed the regular Elite Series 2 Core at $149.99 and the full configuration at $199.99, but those packages should not be compared directly with a Design Lab build without checking which parts are included. Interchangeable components also mean more accessories to store and potentially replace.
Black Ops 6 Xbox Series X Console Wrap
The console accessory is a fitted physical wrap for an existing Xbox Series X. It is not a replacement console shell and not an adhesive sticker. Microsoft describes its construction as solid panels and engineered fabric with a soft silicone-print interior and Velcro fastening. It requires no tools or adhesive.

The outer and inner designs reference redacted files, classified documents, campaign imagery and Zombies details. A removable disc-drive cover allows the wrap to accommodate Series X configurations with or without a disc drive, according to Microsoft’s announcement.
Compatibility and installation
The wrap is designed for Xbox Series X only. It does not fit Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One S or the original Xbox One.
It changes appearance only. It does not add storage, improve cooling, increase performance or turn another Xbox model into a Series X. Microsoft also advises removing the wrap before handling the console. Follow the product instructions rather than forcing panels or fastening material into place.

Prices and availability
Xbox announced the collection on October 16, 2024. The controllers were available to customize and purchase through Xbox Design Lab at announcement. The wrap was announced for pre-order before October 23 and released on October 23, 2024.
- Standard controller: launched from $84.98 in the U.S.; current price depends on the Design Lab build and market.
- Elite Series 2 controller: launched from $164.98 in the U.S.; the selected components and current regional pricing determine the final total.
- Series X wrap: launched at $54.99; the U.S. Microsoft Store listing observed for this article showed it as out of stock.
Use the official Xbox Design Lab collection to check whether either controller can be configured in your market. For the wrap, check the Microsoft Store product page for live stock and pricing. Availability can differ by country, and Design Lab options may change.

Which accessory should you choose?
- Choose the standard controller for most fans. It delivers the themed look, ordinary Xbox controller compatibility and optional personalization without the Elite price.
- Choose the Elite controller if you will use its controls. Paddles, trigger locks and adjustable thumbsticks justify the premium only when they matter to your play style.
- Choose the wrap for a Series X display upgrade. It is a reversible, non-adhesive cosmetic makeover for Series X owners and collectors, not a functional console upgrade.
Important caveats
- The collection did not include a new Xbox console. The wrap is sold separately from the console.
- The themed controllers do not provide announced exclusive Black Ops 6 gameplay features.
- The Elite controller’s configurable controls may suit Omnimovement, but no guaranteed performance advantage was established.
- The wrap is not compatible with Series S or any Xbox One model.
- The one-hour Double XP token was a limited 2024 qualifying pre-order promotion and should not be treated as a current buying benefit.
- Launch prices should not be mistaken for current guaranteed prices.
