What would “2× frame rate” actually mean?
The phrase “2× frame rate” can be misleading because several different numbers are involved:
- Native frame rate: the frames a game actually renders or a camera captures.
- Decoded frame rate: the frames contained in a video stream, such as 24, 30, or 60 fps.
- Interpolation or frame generation: synthetic frames created between original frames.
- Display refresh rate: how frequently a monitor can present updates.
- Latency: the delay between an input, the game simulation, rendering, and display.
Turning 30-fps footage into 60-fps output does not turn it into genuinely captured 60-fps footage. The extra frames are estimates. Depending on the scene, interpolation can produce ghosting, warped objects, duplicated edges, halos, or subtitle distortion. Fast motion, camera cuts, transparency, and objects moving in front of one another are particularly difficult.
In games, generated frames may make motion look smoother without doubling the rate of the underlying simulation or making controls respond twice as quickly. Output above a monitor’s refresh rate may also provide no visible benefit, while the processing can increase GPU usage, heat, fan noise, and battery consumption.
Why it would not fix buffering or slow streaming
The articles also associate Xnxubd with smoother streaming, faster loading, lower buffering, and improved responsiveness. These are separate problems from local frame interpolation.

For video interpolation, look for an identifiable developer, signed installers, documented codecs, stated GPU acceleration, support terms, licensing information, and independent tests. Do not assume that a product using words such as “AI,” “frame rate,” or “X2” has the same implementation or reliability as a documented vendor technology.

If you already downloaded or installed it
