For a mostly static bhajan visual with stereo music, start in XSplit Broadcaster at 1080p, 30 fps, H.264 video with CBR at 5 Mbps, a 2-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. These are YouTube-aligned starting settings, not an India-specific preset. Test the stream from the actual location and lower the resolution or bitrate if the connection cannot sustain it.
Before configuring XSplit, enable YouTube Live
Verify the YouTube channel and check that it has no live-stream restrictions from the prior 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so complete it before the planned broadcast. See XSplit’s YouTube Live setup guide for its current workflow; labels and menus may change.
Set up the scene and YouTube output
- Create the scene. Add the intended background, artwork or text, and bhajan audio source. Check that the audio loops cleanly and that desktop or microphone audio you do not want is not entering the mix. XSplit’s getting-started guide covers the basic scene-and-output workflow.
- Choose XSplit’s native YouTube output. Open the Broadcast menu, create or select the YouTube output, and authorize the channel. Set the title, description, tags, category, privacy, latency, and DVR options for the event.
- Choose the encoder settings below. Apply a profile that matches both YouTube’s guidance and the upload connection available where the stream will run.

The bitrate figures are YouTube’s platform-wide guidance, accessed in 2026; they are not India-specific. A mostly static image may not need the upper recommended bitrate, while fine artwork, scrolling text, motion, or a more detailed visual can benefit from more bandwidth. Choose the stable profile your actual connection can sustain rather than forcing a higher setting.
Test upload capacity and stream health
- Test with audio and visual motion representative of the intended broadcast; a speed-test result alone does not guarantee a stable encoder feed.
- Check the upload bitrate and YouTube’s stream-health indicators while live, and leave headroom above the configured bitrate for network variation and other use of the connection.
- Compare 1080p30 and 720p30 based on sustained upload capacity at the stream location, on-screen text legibility, visual motion, encoder CPU/GPU headroom, and viewers’ connection conditions.
- Because connectivity and power vary by site, validate on the actual ISP and circuit in India rather than assuming a nationwide profile. No specific India-only XSplit reliability figure is established.
Schedule the event and start it deliberately
Create the event in YouTube Studio, then select it from XSplit’s Live Event list. XSplit’s scheduled-stream guide documents the Manual Transition option:

- Manual Transition disabled: Starting the XSplit broadcast can start the YouTube event automatically.
Confirm which behavior is selected before relying on a scheduled start.
When to use Custom RTMP
Use Custom RTMP if the native YouTube output is unsuitable for your workflow. In XSplit, create a Custom RTMP output and enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key. XSplit documents this alternative in its Custom RTMP guide. Keep the stream key private; for the usual setup, the native YouTube integration avoids entering it manually.

Will YouTube save a 24-hour stream?
Google’s Full Live Production guide states: “All streams under 12 hours will be archived.” That supports planning shorter events under 12 hours if you need a YouTube replay; it does not establish that a stream lasting longer must end at 12 hours or that a single 24-hour event will produce a complete replay. Consider a separate local recording if you need continuity beyond the replay YouTube archives.
Check music rights before broadcasting bhajans
Devotional subject matter does not itself clear a recording for livestream use. Rights can apply to the particular recording, arrangement, and composition, so obtain permission or another valid basis for the exact use. YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” See YouTube for Artists’ live music guidance and coordinate channel allowlisting with the rightsholder if required. Do not assume a specific bhajan recording is public domain or cleared; check with the relevant rights holders and current local requirements for your use.
