YouTube 24/7 Bhajan Streams: Cloud Services Compared With DIY OBS

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a 24/7 YouTube bhajan stream, choose between running OBS on a computer you keep powered and connected, or using a cloud service that runs the encoder for you. OBS is free, but a local setup depends on your computer, electricity and internet staying available. A cloud service removes those home dependencies from the encoder path; it does not grant music rights or guarantee uninterrupted viewing. StreamNeo is the first cloud option to consider: it runs an uploaded playlist from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.

Compare the approaches

Decision StreamNeo DIY OBS
Where encoding runs StreamNeo says it loops uploaded videos from its cloud service, so your home computer and connection do not need to remain in the encoder path. See StreamNeo. OBS runs on your computer and connects directly to YouTube; your local system and internet connection must remain available. OBS Project Help Portal explains that OBS has no servers handling the connection.
Software or service cost Per-slot prices depend on billing duration; see the current options below. Every slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across active slots. OBS is free and open source, including for commercial use. Computer, power, internet and upkeep are separate costs; OBS itself does not provide them.
Setup and control Upload videos or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. StreamNeo loops the videos in the cloud. Set up and monitor the local encoder and YouTube broadcast yourself. You remain responsible for the computer and connection.
Recovery StreamNeo includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. This is a product feature, not an independently measured uptime or recovery-time guarantee. You diagnose local connection and encoder issues. OBS says rising dropped-frame counts can indicate an unstable connection or a bitrate your connection cannot sustain.
Copyright A cloud encoder does not clear music rights or prevent YouTube copyright matching. Encoding locally does not clear music rights or prevent YouTube copyright matching.

Option 1: StreamNeo, a cloud service for uploaded videos

StreamNeo is designed for YouTube channels that want uploaded videos to play continuously without leaving a home computer encoding all day. Upload a recording or create a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once and start the stream. The service loops the video from the cloud; it does not stream live camera footage and it streams to YouTube only.

Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot (pooled across your active slots), 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. Uploaded media streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers. The product is the same across plans; only the billing period changes. The first day is free, with no card required, once per account.

Current options are:

  • Daily $0.99 per day
  • Weekly $2.99 per week
  • Monthly $9.99 per month
  • 6 months $49.99 for 6 months
  • Yearly $89.99 a year

Billing can be cancelled at any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support. Check StreamNeo pricing for current terms before subscribing.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Option 2: Run a 24/7 stream yourself with OBS

OBS is free, open-source software and may be used commercially, according to the OBS Project Help Portal. In a DIY setup, OBS runs on your own machine and sends the connection directly to YouTube. You therefore need to keep that machine running, powered, connected and monitored for as long as you want the encoder to run.

Prepare the channel and media

  1. Clear the music rights first. Confirm that you have permission for each recording and arrangement, and that the permission covers your intended use and territories. A devotional lyric or traditional tune does not automatically clear a particular modern performance or sound recording.
  2. Prepare the video files or playlist. Check that the media plays as intended before committing to a continuous broadcast. Keep copies of the original files and note which tracks are licensed for the channel.
  3. Choose the YouTube broadcast workflow. Use YouTube Studio to create or schedule a live broadcast and obtain its stream key. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it, and reset it if exposed.

Configure OBS and start the stream

  1. Install OBS and configure a scene or media source. Add the prepared video or playlist using the workflow supported by your OBS setup. Confirm both audio and video locally before going live.
  2. Connect to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service and connect an account or use the stream key from YouTube Studio. Labels can vary by OBS version and connection method.
  3. Set output to match the media and your connection. In Settings > Output, choose an encoder and bitrate your sustained upload connection can handle. In Settings > Video, set a canvas and output resolution appropriate to the source. Avoid increasing resolution or bitrate beyond what the media and connection can sustain.
  4. Check stream health before relying on it. Start the broadcast and watch OBS’s dropped-frame indicator and YouTube’s stream health. OBS notes that dropped frames can mean the connection is unstable or cannot sustain the configured bitrate; lower the bitrate or resolve the network issue if counts rise.
  5. Plan for power and network interruptions. Keep the computer awake and prevent automatic shutdowns. A UPS may help with brief power interruptions, but it does not provide internet continuity or guarantee the stream stays live. Arrange a way to notice a stopped broadcast and restart it.

Manage YouTube’s broadcast lifecycle

YouTube distinguishes the viewer-facing broadcast from the stream that carries audio and video from the encoder. Its Live Streaming API documentation, last updated 2026-09-14 UTC, describes a 24/7 feed that continues while a separate broadcast is started and completed. That distinction matters when planning archives or rotating viewer-facing events: ask any service how it handles broadcast rotation and archive boundaries. The API example describes an API workflow; it does not mean every manual setup handles archive management automatically.

Check music rights before going live

The responsibility is the same whether OBS runs locally or a cloud service runs the encoder. YouTube’s livestream terms require the content provider to have the rights needed to use live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants, with applicable territory requirements.

YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content. A match can lead to a warning, a placeholder replacing the stream, interruption or termination. If you have licensed third-party content, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. An archived stream may also receive a Content ID claim after the live broadcast ends.

Other cloud-service example: LiveGoLive

LiveGoLive describes a cloud encoder that accepts uploaded media and connects to YouTube through Google authorization or a pasted stream key. Its product page says it can continue encoding after the browser closes, monitor the stream and reconnect after transient network interruptions, and optimize incompatible media during upload. These are vendor claims, not independently measured uptime or recovery results. Its reviewed page showed a waitlist, so check whether it is currently available before planning around it. In connected mode, LiveGoLive says it can rotate broadcasts; in manual stream-key mode, the creator manages broadcasts and archive settings in YouTube Studio. See LiveGoLive’s YouTube page.

Which route fits your channel?

  • Choose DIY OBS if you want local control, already have a suitable computer and dependable connection, and can monitor and troubleshoot the stream yourself.
  • Choose a cloud encoder if you do not want the home computer and connection to remain part of the encoder path, or if you want the service to handle looping and recovery. Compare the service’s current price, storage, key or authorization method, archive handling and support terms.
  • Do not choose either route as a substitute for music clearance. YouTube’s matching and rights requirements apply to both.

No independent apples-to-apples uptime, recovery-time or total-cost benchmark is established for these approaches. OBS has no licence fee, while its power, hardware, internet and monitoring have real operating costs; cloud plans have direct service charges and their own terms.
