First decide whether you need a continuous channel or scheduled events
“24/7 playlist scheduler” can describe two different jobs. A continuous channel keeps playing and repeats or advances through programming until stopped or an end date arrives. A scheduled playlist is a bounded event that starts at a chosen time; it may be useful for a long broadcast, but it does not necessarily provide an endless channel.
- For continuous playout: verify that the service explicitly supports looping or ongoing channel-style programming.
- For timed events: check whether the service starts the event automatically, and whether the playlist has a duration cap.
- For multiple YouTube channels: distinguish a documented YouTube connection from custom RTMP destinations, and ask for the maximum number of concurrent channels. The sources cited below do not establish a universal channel limit for the providers compared.
Whichever setup you choose, the service automates delivery; it does not supply broadcast rights, guarantee monetization, or override YouTube’s own stream limits.

2. Castr TV Playout: the best-documented fit for multi-channel continuous programming
Castr’s help documentation describes uploading prerecorded video, then choosing Schedule or Loop mode for a TV Playout. A playout requires a livestream destination and media in its Files tab or available as Live-to-VOD. In Loop mode, the content repeats until the selected end date; the maximum loop length depends on the plan.

How the YouTube connections work
Castr documents a direct YouTube API connection and also explains how to add custom RTMP platforms using YouTube’s server address and stream key. That custom RTMP route is the relevant evidence for sending playout to more than one YouTube channel. Castr’s cited guide does not promise a maximum number of concurrent YouTube channels, so get the limit for your intended configuration in writing before building a workflow around it.

Make the output decision before creating the playout
Choose frame rate and resolution at creation: Castr says those output settings cannot be changed afterward, and that uploaded files are transcoded to match. Check your source files and planned output before setup. Castr’s product page says every plan includes one playout channel, while file, loop, and output limits scale by plan. Its published multistream destination totals range from 6 on Starter to 30 on Ultra and Events; higher counts are available on request. The page lists loop scheduling up to 15 days ahead on Premium and 30 days on Ultra and Events. These are Castr’s plan claims, not independent performance measurements, and can change; confirm current limits and destination counting with Castr before purchase.
Castr distinguishes a simple scheduled or looping single-file broadcast from a programmed channel built from multiple files and live streams, breaks, and multi-day schedules. If your programming needs inserts or a multi-day grid, confirm that the specific playout plan and workflow support them.

3. Restream: scheduled playlists with explicit bounds
Restream’s documented workflow is to upload videos, arrange their order, preview the playlist, select channels, and schedule the event. The event can begin automatically at its scheduled time. Its playlist FAQ says prerecorded and live content cannot currently be blended in one playlist.
Restream’s Help Center article dated July 25, 2026, gives a maximum playlist duration of 24 hours and a maximum of 40 videos. It says playlists require the Upload & Stream add-on tiers, listing Marathon at $79/month with a 4-hour video library and 1080p maximum, and Media at $239/month with a 12-hour library and 4K maximum. These are Restream’s published figures on that dated help article; check its current page and checkout before relying on them. A 24-hour event cap makes this a bounded scheduled-playlist option unless Restream confirms a separate continuous-loop feature for your account.

Gyre and Upstream
YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre for cloud-based 24/7 streaming of prerecorded YouTube videos and Upstream as a cloud studio for 24/7 live video streaming. That makes them reasonable names to investigate, but the directory does not confirm their current multi-channel scheduling features or limits. Ask each provider whether one playlist can run simultaneously to your required number of distinct YouTube channels, and what plan and stream-key setup that entails.
How to choose for several YouTube channels
- Write down the destinations. Count distinct YouTube channels, not just stream keys or output destinations. Confirm whether you need the same playlist on every channel or different schedules for each.
- Require proof of the operating mode. Ask whether the service loops continuously until stopped or an end date, or only starts a scheduled event with a finite duration.
- Get the concurrent channel limit. Ask for the maximum simultaneous YouTube channels on your exact plan, whether custom RTMP destinations count separately, and whether each destination can use a different key.
- Check the playlist ceiling and schedule window. Confirm video-count, file-size or library-duration caps, loop length, schedule horizon, and how the service handles a failed or unavailable source file.
- Confirm output behavior. Determine whether the service transcodes uploads, which resolution and frame rates are available, and whether output settings can be changed after setup.
- Test a private or unlisted run first. Verify audio, video, playlist order, destination selection, and the YouTube Live Control Room status before relying on a public continuous channel.
YouTube requirements still apply
Eligibility and active stream limits
YouTube’s current Help page says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days to stream. The same page, accessed October 3, 2026, states a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key; both limits apply at the same time. Treat these as YouTube’s currently published limits, not permanent guarantees, and check the Help page for changes before scaling up. See YouTube Help: Create a live stream with an encoder.
Stream setup and archiving
YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a stream URL and stream key, with the stream scheduled in Live Control Room and started through the encoder workflow. YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That qualification does not guarantee that a third-party continuous broadcast will be saved as one archive; plan for the possibility that a longer stream will not produce a single recording. Copyright and monetization
A scheduler does not grant rights to music, footage, or other material. YouTube’s livestream terms require providers to hold all necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and clear the rights for every item in the playlist before broadcasting.
Copyright clearance and monetization eligibility are separate issues. YouTube’s monetization policy says its “inauthentic content” policy covers repetitive or mass-produced content and applies to live streams; reused content is assessed separately from copyright. Owning or licensing a track therefore does not, by itself, establish that a channel qualifies for monetization. See YouTube channel monetization policies.
Costs and operating trade-offs
Compare the full setup, not just the advertised subscription. With a cloud playout provider, confirm whether the plan includes enough storage, playlist length, destinations, resolution, and scheduling range for every channel. With an event-oriented service, a duration cap may require separate events or a different provider for a truly continuous channel. If you run an encoder locally instead, account for the computer, power, internet connection, and monitoring needed to keep it operating; a local workflow also makes continuity dependent on that equipment and connection.

Troubleshooting before and after launch
The stream does not start at the scheduled time
- Check that the YouTube channel is eligible for live streaming and has no applicable restriction.
- Confirm the event’s scheduled time and selected destination channels in the provider dashboard and YouTube Live Control Room.
- For RTMP destinations, check that the server URL and stream key belong to the intended channel. Avoid sharing stream keys; replace one if it may have been exposed.
One channel is live, but another is not
- Check that the second YouTube channel was added as its own destination and that its stream key is current.
- Ask the provider whether the plan allows that number of concurrent destinations and whether the connection method supports multiple YouTube channels.
- Check YouTube’s active-stream limits for both the channel and the key in use.
Playback stops, repeats incorrectly, or has a gap between files
- Check playlist order, loop mode, end date, and whether the schedule is a one-time event or recurring playout.
- Confirm that every uploaded file is available and within the provider’s file, library, and duration limits.
- Where a service transcodes files, allow for processing and compare the output against the original; where output settings are fixed at creation, verify them before recreating or changing the playout.
The picture or frame rate is not what you expected
- Check the chosen output resolution and frame rate against the source file and service plan.
- For Castr, remember that playout output settings are selected at creation and cannot later be changed; files are transcoded to those settings.

The stream ends or does not produce the expected archive

- Review YouTube Live Control Room for the actual stream state and check the service’s destination or recovery status.
