If YouTube Live Control Room reports audioSampleRateMismatch, make the audio sample rates on your primary and backup streams identical. In FFmpeg, set the encoded output rate with -ar 44100 or -ar 48000, then confirm the actual output and check Live Control Room again. Choose the rate that fits the exact warning and your stream configuration; there is no single rate established for every setup.
What the sample-rate warning means
YouTube’s Live Streaming API defines audioSampleRateMismatch as a difference between the audio sample rates of the primary and backup streams. The fix is to configure both streams to use the same rate. This is distinct from audioSampleRate, which concerns the rate itself rather than a mismatch between the two streams. Choose the right output rate
The API’s health-issue table recommends 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz for audio sample rate. Separately, YouTube Help’s example dashboard error says to correct the rate to 44.1 kHz. Follow the exact message shown for your stream and keep the primary and backup rates aligned; do not assume that switching to 48 kHz is always the answer. YouTube Help: Fix live stream errors
If the warning names 44.1 kHz, use 44100 Hz. If your applicable guidance and setup call for 48 kHz, use 48000 Hz. In either case, the encoded audio sent on both paths must use the same rate.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set the FFmpeg output sample rate
- Identify the FFmpeg output sent to YouTube, and determine whether you have separate primary and backup output paths. Check the encoded output settings, not just the source file’s properties: the transmitted rate is what matters.
- Add the desired output audio rate before the relevant output destination. For example, use
-ar 44100for 44.1 kHz or-ar 48000for 48 kHz. FFmpeg documents-aras the audio sampling-frequency option. FFmpeg codec documentation - Apply the same rate to the primary and backup encoders. If they are configured in separate commands or services, check each output independently and ensure both encode at the chosen rate.
- Verify the encoded outputs and confirm that each is actually using the configured rate. The appropriate command details depend on your input mapping, filters, and output layout, so the examples above show the relevant option rather than a complete, universally applicable live-stream command.
- Recheck YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube says health messages appear with timestamps and an unresolved message continues to appear until it is fixed. YouTube Help: Fix live stream errors
Diagnose the warning if it remains
- The mismatch warning persists: Check the actual encoded rates on both primary and backup outputs. One path may still use a different rate despite the intended FFmpeg setting.
- You see
audioSampleRate, notaudioSampleRateMismatch: Treat it as a rate warning, not a primary-versus-backup mismatch. Compare the exact dashboard message with the API’s recommended 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz and YouTube Help’s example text specifying 44.1 kHz. - The warning appears after changing
-ar: Confirm that the option applies to the output actually sent to YouTube and that it is placed before that output destination. Check the encoded result rather than assuming the setting changed the transmitted audio. - The dashboard still shows an error: Read the timestamp and current health details, then verify both output paths again. An unresolved dashboard message continues to be displayed.
