किसी गेम को Start Menu में pin करना Windows 10 में built-in है; अपनी पसंद का cover art tile पर दिखाना नहीं। Custom artwork के लिए पहले ऐसा shortcut बनाएं जो गेम को सही तरीके से खोलता हो, फिर TileIconifier जैसी third-party utility से उस shortcut की static tile image बदलें। Windows 10 का सामान्य support 14 अक्टूबर 2025 को समाप्त हो चुका है। सिस्टम चलता रहेगा, लेकिन unsupported OS पर third-party utilities डाउनलोड करते समय खास सावधानी रखें।
पहले सामान्य game tile pin करें
अगर गेम Start Menu की All apps सूची में दिखता है, तो उसे बिना अतिरिक्त software के pin कर सकते हैं। Native tile आम तौर पर shortcut का उपलब्ध icon दिखाती है; arbitrary cover image चुनने का सामान्य Windows GUI विकल्प नहीं है।
- Start > All apps खोलें और गेम या उसके launcher का shortcut खोजें।
- उस पर right-click करके Pin to Start चुनें।
- Start Menu के दाएँ हिस्से में tile को drag करके जगह बदलें। Right-click करके Resize में उपलब्ध आकार चुनें।
- संबंधित tiles को एक-दूसरे पर drag करके group बनाएं और group का नाम, जैसे PC Games या Steam, बदलें।
Microsoft के Windows 10 Start Menu निर्देशों में apps को pin/unpin करने, tiles को move और resize करने तथा groups में रखने के controls दिए गए हैं: Start Menu को customize करें। Tile आकारों और desktop app icons के व्यवहार में अंतर हो सकता है; सभी आकार हर third-party tool में उपलब्ध होंगे, यह न मानें (Microsoft desktop app tiles documentation)।
गेम सूची में न हो तो Start Menu shortcut बनाएं
Windows Start Menu में desktop programs के shortcuts को Programs folder से खोज सकता है। पहले मौजूदा launcher shortcut को प्राथमिकता दें; फिर उसे अपने user account के Start Menu folder में रखें।

- Desktop पर right-click करें और New > Shortcut चुनें।
- गेम की executable का path या, बेहतर हो तो, पहले से काम कर रहा launcher shortcut target के रूप में दें। Shortcut का नाम गेम के नाम से रखें।
- Shortcut पर double-click करके जाँचें कि गेम सचमुच खुलता है।
- Shortcut को इस folder में copy करें:
%AppData%MicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms - Start खोलकर नया shortcut खोजें, फिर right-click करके Pin to Start चुनें।
किसी PC के सभी users के लिए shortcut रखना हो तो यह folder इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है: %ProgramData%MicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms। Microsoft के Start layout निर्देश desktop apps के लिए Start Menu Programs folder में रखे shortcuts का उल्लेख करते हैं (Start layout; desktop Start layout)।
Steam गेम के लिए ऐसा shortcut बनाएं जो Steam के जरिए लॉन्च करे
कई Steam games को सीधे उनकी .exe से खोलने पर Steam launch options, overlay, DRM या game का आवश्यक startup flow छूट सकता है। एक उपयोगी विकल्प Steam URL shortcut है:

- गेम की असली Steam App ID पता करें।
- Desktop पर right-click करके New > Shortcut चुनें। Location में
steam://rungameid/APP_IDडालें औरAPP_IDकी जगह सही ID रखें। उदाहरण:steam://rungameid/570। - Next चुनें, shortcut को गेम का नाम दें और Finish करें।
- Shortcut पर right-click करके Properties > Change Icon से अलग icon चुन सकते हैं। फिर इसे ऊपर बताए गए Start Menu Programs folder में copy करके pin करें।
यह shortcut Steam client के माध्यम से गेम खोलता है, इसलिए Steam installed होना चाहिए और जरूरत पड़ने पर उसमें sign in होना चाहिए। गलत App ID से गलत गेम खुलेगा या shortcut विफल होगा। कुछ games पहले launcher, update prompt या anti-cheat component दिखाते हैं। TileIconifier का project Steam game shortcuts के लिए custom tile workflow बताता है (TileIconifier GitHub project)।
TileIconifier से custom artwork लगाएं
TileIconifier Windows 10 Start Menu shortcuts के लिए custom image tiles बनाने का legacy विकल्प है। Project Windows 10 के लिए support और shortcut पर image बदलने की सुविधा बताता है, लेकिन उसकी latest listed release v3.1.1.2, 28 सितंबर 2021 की है। इसे नियमित रूप से maintained या हर मौजूदा Windows 10 build पर guaranteed-compatible न समझें।

- Utility केवल इसके official GitHub project से लें। Download से पहले repository और release files जाँचें और file को antivirus से scan करें। अनजान download sites या re-packed builds से बचें।
- TileIconifier खोलें और सूची में पहले से काम कर रहा game shortcut चुनें। सूची में न हो तो Quick Build Custom Shortcut विकल्प आजमाएं।
- Change Image चुनें या tile logo box पर double-click करें, फिर अपनी image चुनें। Tool के controls उपलब्ध हों तो small और medium tile के लिए अलग images सेट करें।
- Image को move/resize करके crop और placement ठीक करें। Custom shortcut बनाने या बदलाव लागू करने के लिए Quick Build Custom Shortcut या tool में उपलब्ध समान build/apply control इस्तेमाल करें।
- बनाया हुआ नया shortcut Start Menu में pin करें। Tile पर क्लिक करके गेम लॉन्च जाँचें; सही चलने पर पुरानी duplicate tile unpin करें।
Cover art को square या tile-friendly crop में रखें, logo को किनारों से दूर रखें और छोटे text से बचें। Small tile पर वही image कम पठनीय हो सकती है, इसलिए वास्तविक Start Menu में सभी चुने हुए आकार जाँचें। यह स्थिर artwork वाली tile है, Live Tile नहीं। गेम artwork या logos को निजी customization से आगे redistribute करने का अधिकार मानकर न चलें।
Epic, Xbox और दूसरे launchers के shortcuts
Epic Games, Battle.net, Ubisoft Connect और GOG
पहले launcher से बना desktop shortcut इस्तेमाल करके test करें। Epic Games Launcher में game के menu में Create Shortcut उपलब्ध हो तो उससे shortcut बनाएं। Battle.net, Ubisoft Connect या GOG के लिए भी मौजूदा launcher shortcut एक अच्छा शुरुआती विकल्प है। Direct game executable तभी चुनें जब वह launcher के बिना भरोसेमंद ढंग से चलता हो और जरूरी launch arguments shortcut में बने रहें।

Xbox app और Microsoft Store games
Store games हमेशा सामान्य desktop .exe की तरह shortcut नहीं बनाते; कुछ protected installations पर Explorer से साधारण shortcut बनाना संभव या उपयोगी नहीं होता। गेम All apps में दिखता हो तो वहीं से Pin to Start करना सबसे सरल fallback है। TileIconifier project Store apps के लिए shortcut support का उल्लेख करता है, लेकिन हर Xbox या Microsoft Store title के साथ compatibility की गारंटी नहीं है (project विवरण)।
समस्या आए तो इन checks से शुरू करें
गेम Start Menu में नहीं दिखता
- जाँचें कि shortcut
%AppData%MicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsमें है और उसका नाम सही है। - Explorer से shortcut double-click करके देखें। यदि वह नहीं खुलता, तो पहले shortcut का target या launcher ठीक करें।
- Start Menu दोबारा खोलें और Windows Search में नाम खोजें; नया shortcut सूची में आने में कुछ समय लग सकता है।
- TileIconifier में shortcut न मिले तो Quick Build Custom Shortcut आजमाएं।
Tile दिखती है, लेकिन गेम नहीं खुलता
पहले मूल shortcut को चलाकर देखें। अगर वह भी विफल है, तो समस्या tile की नहीं, target, launcher, sign-in, launch arguments, बदले हुए install path या game की आवश्यक privileges/anti-cheat configuration की है। मूल shortcut काम करता हो तो TileIconifier से बने shortcut का target फिर जाँचें।

Custom image के बाद पुराना icon दिखता है
- पुरानी tile पर right-click करके Unpin from Start करें।
- TileIconifier से बना नया shortcut pin करें और सही shortcut को customize किया है, यह जाँचें।
- Start Menu बंद करके फिर खोलें; जरूरत पर Windows Explorer या PC restart करें।
TileIconifier मौजूदा Windows 10 पर काम नहीं करता
Project की आखिरी सूचीबद्ध release 2021 की होने के कारण compatibility की गारंटी नहीं है। GitHub Releases और Issues देखें, अपने Windows version/build की जानकारी मिलाएं और अनजान portable builds install न करें। Utility विफल हो तो native pinning या shortcut का Change Icon विकल्प अपनाएं।
गेम uninstall करने के बाद tile रह जाती है
Tile पर right-click करके Unpin from Start करें। यदि संबंधित .lnk shortcut Start Menu Programs folder में बचा हो तो उसे भी हटाएं।

Windows 10 पर सुरक्षा का संदर्भ
Microsoft के अनुसार Windows 10 का सामान्य support 14 अक्टूबर 2025 को समाप्त हुआ; Home और Pro का अंतिम सामान्य feature release version 22H2 था (Windows 10 support status; Windows 10 Home and Pro lifecycle)। इसलिए custom tile के लिए पुरानी utility जोड़ने से पहले डाउनलोड का स्रोत और file जाँचें। Windows 10 पर केवल गेम pin करना हो तो built-in shortcut workflow कम जटिल विकल्प है।
