The safe code in Webb’s penthouse is 1493. To reach it, open the desk drawer, press the concealed button, and inspect the painting that moves aside to expose the wall safe. Isola’s note tells you to read four office objects in this order: Diploma → Painting → Game → Model. Their values are 1, 4, 9, and 3 respectively.

Where this puzzle occurs
The puzzle is set in Webb’s penthouse at Webb Industries during the Knightfall mission in 007: First Light. Walkthrough listings associate the penthouse safe with the game’s Chapter 12, although chapter metadata in one video result is inconsistent. The mission and location are the reliable identifiers; use the objective and the penthouse setting rather than relying on a chapter number alone.
An index of the game’s walkthrough places the safe in the Webb Industries section, while separate guides describe the same route through the penthouse. You can use the walkthrough index to orient yourself if you are checking mission order. - Translate those four clues into the digits 1, 4, 9, and 3, then enter the resulting combination on the safe.

Finding the concealed safe
1. Reach Webb’s penthouse
Stay in the penthouse area of Webb Industries during Knightfall. If you are searching elsewhere in the level, the relevant desk, painting, and clue objects will not be present. The walkthrough material consistently ties this puzzle to the penthouse, not to a separate safe elsewhere in the mission.
2. Search the desk drawer
At Webb’s desk, open the drawer and inspect its interior rather than stopping after the drawer animation. A button is hidden in the drawer. Pressing it is the trigger that reveals the safe; the safe is not intended to be found by simply examining the room’s walls.

3. Check behind the painting
The mechanism exposes a wall safe behind a painting. Once the painting has moved or the concealed area has been revealed, approach the safe and use its normal interaction. If you cannot find a safe, return to the desk and verify that you activated the hidden button; the desk action is the route described by both the VGC guide and the focused walkthrough.

How Isola’s note encodes the combination
The note is a sequence instruction, not merely a list of nearby objects. It says to inspect the four categories in this exact order. Each category points to a specific item in Webb’s office, and each item supplies one digit.

Diploma: use “first” as one
Inspect Webb’s diploma and note that it identifies him as having graduated first in his class. That ranking is the value for the first slot. Do not substitute the graduation year or another number printed on the certificate; the clue is the ranking word “first.”
Painting: use rendition number four
The painting is labeled Basilisk, rendition #4. The number after “rendition” supplies the second slot. The artwork’s subject is useful for confirming that you are examining the intended painting, but it is the rendition number that matters.
Game: use the number in Hyperion 9
The game item is titled Hyperion 9. The numeral in that title supplies the third slot. Read the title as displayed rather than trying to count objects in the room or infer a release number.

Model: convert Site III to three
The final item is a scale model marked Site III. “III” is the Roman-numeral form of three, providing the last slot. This is the only clue that requires converting a numeral style instead of copying an Arabic digit.
Entering the code without scrambling the order
Once all four objects have been examined, enter the digits in the same sequence as the note. The order is positional: moving a correct digit to another slot makes the combination fail even though all four digits are present. If you wrote the clues down separately, label them with their note categories before using the safe.
- Write the diploma result beside “Diploma.”
- Write the painting’s rendition number beside “Painting.”
- Write the number in the Hyperion title beside “Game.”
- Write the value of Site III beside “Model.”
- Enter the four entries consecutively on the safe’s keypad or dial interface.
The game presents this as a fixed-code puzzle rather than a choice among multiple combinations. You do not need to derive a second code from Webb’s name, the mission title, or the room’s other decorations.

The reward is the BASILISK command override, which Isola needs. The override is the narrative purpose of the safe sequence, so opening the compartment advances the mission’s objective rather than functioning as an optional collectible-only interaction.

If the safe opens but the objective does not update immediately, allow the interaction and its result to finish before leaving the room. The available walkthrough information establishes the item obtained, but does not document a separate alternate reward or a different post-opening procedure.

The safe is not visible
- Confirm that you are in Webb’s penthouse at Webb Industries during Knightfall.
- Return to Webb’s desk and open the drawer fully.
- Look for and press the concealed button inside the drawer.
- After activating it, inspect the painting and the wall behind it again.
The desk button is the documented discovery trigger. Searching other rooms or attempting to enter the combination before exposing the safe will not reveal it.
The combination is rejected
- Check that you used the note’s order, not the physical order in which you happened to find the objects.
- Verify that the diploma contributes the ranking “first,” not a date.
- Verify that the painting reads Basilisk, rendition #4.
- Verify that the game item is Hyperion 9.
- Convert Site III to the number three for the final position.
There is no evidence of a variable or save-specific combination. A failed attempt therefore indicates a clue-reading or ordering error, or that one of the four office items was misidentified.
You are unsure which chapter to select
Use Knightfall and the Webb Industries penthouse as your checkpoints. A walkthrough index associates the safe with Chapter 12, but chapter labeling is not consistent across every search result. Treat the chapter number as a navigation aid rather than a requirement for solving the puzzle.

Checklist before leaving Webb’s office
- Isola’s note has been read and its four categories are in the correct order.
- The diploma’s “first in his class” detail has been converted to the first digit.
- The painting’s rendition number has been recorded.
- Hyperion 9 has supplied the game digit.
- Site III has supplied the model digit.
- The desk drawer’s hidden button has been pressed.
- The painting has revealed the wall safe.
- The safe has been opened and the BASILISK command override has been obtained.
Why the clue order matters
Each office object contains a plausible number, but the note determines how those numbers are arranged. The diploma’s ranking, the painting’s rendition label, the game’s title, and the model’s Roman numeral are not interchangeable clues. Reading them in any other order creates a different four-digit string and will not open the safe.
This design also explains why the puzzle can feel ambiguous if you inspect the room without the note: the room supplies the values, while the note supplies their positions. Once those two jobs are separated, the solution is deterministic.
