Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →RedM is the multiplayer modification for Red Dead Redemption 2 made by Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM for GTA V. Instead of joining Rockstar’s own online world, players connect to dedicated servers that communities run themselves, each with its own scripts, maps, jobs and house rules, and Wild West roleplay is a popular theme. The project calls itself community-driven and source-available, it grew out of the Cfx framework that has existed in one form or another since 2014, and its front page showed about 5,000 people playing when we looked. Rockstar Games bought Cfx.re in 2023, and redm.net now lists RedM as a trademark of Take-Two Interactive.
A community server only works if it is online when people want to ride, so many groups rent one instead of leaving a home PC running all night. This ranking lines up four hosts’ RedM offers on the points that decide the choice: how much memory and how many slots each plan gives, what it costs in US dollars, backups, support hours, trial and refund terms, and how each one deals with the parts that are peculiar to RedM, from the Cfx license key to the 48-player default.

The four RedM hosts in brief
- Godlike.Host: three RedM plans running from 8 GB with 32 slots to 12 GB with 64, as its Red Dead Redemption 2 page showed them on 11 October 2026, with scheduled tasks, automatic backups and a Discord bot for day-to-day control.
- Nodecraft: plans sized by memory from 2 GB, txAdmin built into its panel, a 24-hour trial that needs no card and a seven-day refund promise.
- ZAP-Hosting: an order form that calculates the hardware for you, txAdmin included, a one-time lifetime option and eight server locations.
- GPORTAL: rentals counted in slots for 30 or 90 days, one plan with 48 slots, and 50 GB of space for backups.
How we compared them
We opened each host’s RedM page on 11 October 2026 from a connection in the United States and noted the same things every time: plan sizes in memory and slots, regular monthly list prices, backups, locations, support hours, and any trial, refund or cancellation terms. First-month sale prices and coupon codes were ignored. If a page lists no figure for something, memory per plan for instance, the table marks it as missing rather than estimating it. Shockbyte and xREALM, which also appear on Cfx.re’s own hosting page, are not ranked: Shockbyte’s page refused our requests, and xREALM’s page loads its prices only through a script, so neither gave us a US list price to compare.
Cfx.re’s hosting list and what it means for you
Cfx.re keeps a server-hosting page on redm.net that names five authorized hosts: GPORTAL, Shockbyte, Nodecraft, xREALM and ZAP-Hosting. Being on that page brings one practical extra for buyers, because Element Club subscribers get a month of free hosting with one of those five companies. The list is not a condition for running RedM, though. Cfx.re’s documentation explains how to set up the server yourself on Windows or Linux, and every server, wherever it runs, needs a free key issued through the Cfx Portal.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The same redm.net page names Tebex as the exclusive way to monetize a server and asks owners to consult its Platform License Agreement on requirements and restrictions, so read it before you sell anything to your players.
1. Godlike.Host: RedM plans that start at 8 GB with room for 32 players
Not on Cfx.re’s list of authorized RedM hosts (redm.net, 10 Oct 2026). Its RedM offer comes as three plans that tie memory to player slots. Viewed from the United States, its Red Dead Redemption 2 server page showed an 8 GB Ultra plan with 32 slots, a 10 GB Unstoppable plan with 48 and a 12 GB Rampage plan with 64, plus a custom build between those sizes, all priced in the table below. Each plan comes with a plugin installer, scheduled tasks, a server wiper, instant setup, automatic backups and DDoS protection.
The panel hands you full control of RedM resources, launch options and the server configuration, and the page’s FAQ explains that the license key you generate on the Cfx.re portal is added during setup. A personal firewall filters connections by IP address and blocks unwanted activity, a config editor can share one file through a link while keeping every other file private, and a Discord bot takes care of everyday management. Several separate or linked servers can be run from one panel, switching to a larger or smaller plan later is possible, with the difference in price usually worked out automatically, and support is available at any hour by live chat or ticket. Godlike.Host lists ten data centre locations and takes cryptocurrency among its payment methods.

Limit: its 48-slot Unstoppable plan lists higher than GPORTAL’s 48-slot plan in the table, the amount charged depends on where you live and on whatever promotion the page is showing, and the voluntary money-back guarantee applies only to a customer’s first order, if requested inside three calendar days.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
2. Nodecraft: memory plans from 2 GB with txAdmin in the panel
Nodecraft prices RedM by memory. Its page shows plans with 2, 3 and 6 GB, a build-your-own option covers anything from 2 to 32 GB, and paying for three months or a year at once brings a discount. The panel has a one-click installer for RedM resources, works with txAdmin directly, and creates the database that many server frameworks expect on the server itself, so nothing has to be installed on your own computer. You can edit and preview how the server looks in the public listing, manage files in a split-screen view, and handle admins and the allowlist in the same place. The page lists 26 locations across North America, South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, names Intel Xeon E-2174G or similar processors running at 3.8 GHz or faster with ECC memory, and says it keeps an average of about 12 customers on each machine. Nodecraft sets no slot cap of its own and sends anyone who wants more than 48 players to Cfx.re’s Element Club. A 24-hour trial needs no card, entering payment details extends it to three days, and the seven-day money-back guarantee applies to one service per account.
Limit: live support works from 11:30 to 20:00 Central time each day rather than around the clock, the free trial leaves out FTP and file uploads, and the plans on the page end at 6 GB unless you build your own.
3. ZAP-Hosting: hardware worked out at checkout, with a lifetime option
ZAP-Hosting advertises RedM with a monthly starting price and calculates the hardware a server needs while you order, with the option to add more resources before paying; a one-time lifetime server is sold as well. After payment the server is installed and preconfigured automatically and is ready to play within minutes. Its web interface includes txAdmin, free FTP access for uploading scripts and mods, backups you can create or import with one click, and an online editor that explains the server settings. Memory can be raised later if usage climbs, and its game cloud allows a change of game on the same rental at any time. Customers with their own IP address can adjust the DDoS protection themselves and review current and past attacks. The filter on its community server list shows eight locations: Dallas, Los Angeles, Ashburn, Montreal, London, Frankfurt/Eygelshoven, Singapore and Sydney. Support answers every day, Sundays included, through live chat, tickets and e-mail, and products can be bought prepaid, in which case a server you stop paying for closes on its own without further cost.
Limit: its RedM page lists only a starting price and no slot or memory figures for any plan, and the processors it names are Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 chips.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

4. GPORTAL: slot rentals for 30 or 90 days
GPORTAL rents RedM by player slots: 10 slots for 30 or 90 days, or 48 slots for 30 days, all on a server in Dallas in the US view of its page. Every server gets 50 GB of storage for backups of saves and configs, attacks are filtered in several layers with Bulwark and Corero systems, the machines run on NVMe SSD storage, and GPORTAL puts the wait for a new server at under three minutes. The page also points customers to the Cfx Marketplace for extra RedM content.
Limit: its RedM page lists no memory figure, offers just 10 and 48 slots, shows Dallas as its only US location and lists no refund terms.

Points to compare before paying
- The 48-player line. Every RedM server stops at 48 players unless its owner has an Element Club subscription on the Cfx Portal, whichever host runs it. Argentum lifts the cap to 64; Aurum allows 64 with OneSync and 128 with OneSync Infinity; Platinum allows 128 with OneSync and up to 1,024 with OneSync Infinity. A plan with more than 48 slots, such as Godlike.Host’s 64-slot Rampage, only fills past 48 with one of these tiers, while GPORTAL’s 48-slot plan sits exactly at the default.
- Memory for your scripts. A RedM server’s appetite grows with its resources: a roleplay framework, custom maps and streamed clothing all add to it. Nodecraft starts at 2 GB and Godlike.Host at 8 GB; ZAP-Hosting sizes the server while you order, and GPORTAL’s page lists no memory figures.
- A database for roleplay. Cfx.re’s frameworks page lists VORP for RedM, and its txAdmin guide warns that some templates need a database server. Nodecraft says its panel creates the database; the other three RedM pages list no database, so ask before you buy.
- txAdmin or the host’s own panel. Nodecraft and ZAP-Hosting both name txAdmin, the web tool behind Cfx.re’s easiest setup guide. Godlike.Host describes its own panel for resources, launch options and configuration instead.
- Help when something breaks. Godlike.Host and GPORTAL state 24/7 support, ZAP-Hosting answers every day by chat, ticket and e-mail, and Nodecraft’s human team works fixed daily hours.
- Room to back out. Nodecraft’s free trial and seven-day refund give the most time to test; Godlike.Host allows three calendar days on a first purchase; ZAP-Hosting’s prepaid option simply lapses; GPORTAL’s page lists none.
First steps on a new RedM server
A few settings are the same at every host. The server needs a license key, which you generate free on the Cfx Portal; it ends up in server.cfg as sv_licenseKey, and hosted panels usually ask for it while setting the server up. The server software is shared with FiveM, and the gamename setting, rdr3 for RedM, tells it which game to run; if you build the server yourself, add set gamename rdr3 to server.cfg. Fill in the sets sv_projectName and sets sv_projectDesc lines as well, because Cfx.re’s troubleshooting page warns that a server without them shows an error at startup and may not appear in the server list. Players join with the RedM client from redm.net, which works only with a fully updated, legitimate PC copy of Red Dead Redemption 2, sold by Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Rockstar Warehouse among others. To check that the server can be reached, open the F8 console in the client and type connect followed by the address and port, 30120 by default.

Keep the server’s artifacts, the FXServer builds that run it, up to date. FAQ
Is a RedM server the same as Red Dead Online?
No. Red Dead Online is Rockstar’s own multiplayer mode. RedM runs community servers with their own scripts and rules, and players reach them through the separate RedM client on PC.
How many players can a RedM server hold?
Up to 48 by default. Cfx.re’s Element Club tiers raise that cap, to 64 with Argentum and up to 1,024 with Platinum and OneSync Infinity, according to redm.net.

Can I host a RedM server myself for free?
Yes. Cfx.re publishes server builds for Windows and Linux, along with guides for a txAdmin setup and a manual one, and calls the Linux build a courtesy port. You then supply the machine, the connection and the uptime yourself, which is the work a rented server takes off your hands.
Does my host have to be on Cfx.re’s list?
Cfx.re’s own pages did not require it when we checked on 11 October 2026. The list names the hosts Cfx.re works with and links them to the Element Club free-month offer, and Cfx.re’s own guides cover hosting it on hardware you control.
Can I sell perks or VIP roles on a RedM server?
Only within Cfx.re’s rules. Its hosting page makes Tebex the sole channel for taking money on a server and refers server owners to the Creator Platform License Agreement for what may be sold and how.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCan console players join a RedM server?
No. RedM is a PC modification and needs Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC, so players on PlayStation or Xbox cannot connect.
