IO Interactive’s free Extended Operations update for 007 First Light became available October 1, 2026, as Update 1.3.0. It adds New Game+, a harder 00 campaign difficulty, Photo Mode and two TacSim additions—including four Aston Martin Valhalla driving missions—alongside more than 700 developer-reported fixes and improvements.
What’s in the free Extended Operations update?
Extended Operations is a free update for owners of 007 First Light, not a separately priced DLC pack. IO Interactive listed Update 1.3.0’s release time as 12:00 UTC / 14:00 CEST on October 1, 2026. The update combines replay and difficulty options, photo tools, TacSim content, weapon-handling animation refinements and a broad fixes pass.
Players who do not own the game still need the base game to use the update. IOI’s support page lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC availability from May 27, 2026, and Nintendo Switch 2 for March 2027; that Switch 2 date was a forward-looking listing in support information last updated September 15, 2026. Check IOI’s support page for current platform availability.
How New Game+ works, and how to unlock it
Complete the campaign to unlock New Game+. You can then replay from the beginning or from a completed checkpoint, retaining access to outfits and gadgets unlocked on your save. During a New Game+ run, outfits can be changed through the journal, and unlocked gadgets can be swapped during missions where the story allows them.

New Game+ is for revisiting the campaign with unlocked gear; 00 is a separate, more demanding campaign option. Both become available after campaign completion, so players can choose whether to focus on a replay with their unlocked equipment or take on the added challenge.
What changes in 00 difficulty?
00 is the update’s new hardest campaign option, unlocked after completing the campaign. IOI describes faster enemy reactions, tougher combat and more restricted gadget use. Its support notes add that enemies spot Bond more quickly and hit harder, while resources restore only a fraction of gadget use.

Expect less room for mistakes than on the existing Easy, Normal and Hard options. Guards are more restrictive about gadget use when they have line of sight, and parry and side-step timing is tighter. It is designed as a higher-pressure replay, not simply a new name for a setting that was already available.
What new TacSim missions are included?
TacSim gets two headline additions: a four-mission driving set and a return to a location in Vietnam. The Valhalla Protocol missions take place in the Slovakian Mountains, with day and night conditions and different challenges. Jungle Heist is an on-foot villa mission.

Valhalla Protocol
Drive the armed Aston Martin Valhalla through four Slovakian Mountain challenges. The car carries weaponry used in the main campaign; use it against targets to earn time bonuses and pursue high scores. The varying conditions and challenges make the set more than a single repeatable drive.
Jungle Heist
In Jungle Heist, Bond infiltrates a guarded villa at The Pearl resort in Vietnam to retrieve classified documents. IOI says the playable area includes the full villa and its rooftop. The interior has been redesigned to create more opportunities for stealth. TacSim also gains access to the full main-campaign weapon arsenal.

Photo Mode: what can you adjust?
Photo Mode lets you freeze the action and compose a shot using developer-documented controls for camera position and transformation, lens settings, brightness and post-processing filters. You can also change UI visibility, pose characters, and choose background, logo and frame options. These controls provide both basic shot composition and presentation choices without requiring a separate capture tool.

Download requirements differ across storefronts and platforms, so use the figure for the version you play rather than treating the largest number as a universal storage requirement.
What else does the patch fix?
IO Interactive says Update 1.3.0 includes over 700 fixes and improvements. The company lists work across crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI polish; the figure is IOI’s own count, not an independently audited tally. The gameplay changes also include a new vulnerability for Bond: enemies can now throw him off ledges, a move previously associated with enemies alone.
