1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe best Meta Quest game for you depends on what you want to do in VR: follow a story, move to music, explore a long RPG, face horror, compete online, or hang out with other players. This shortlist groups 10 notable options by the kind of experience they offer; it is an editorial selection, not a definitive ranking. It draws on current Quest-focused guides from Tom’s Guide and PCGamesN, alongside Meta’s Quest catalog.
These recommendations concern games available for Quest, not PC VR titles that require a gaming computer. Before buying, check the game’s live Meta Store page for your headset model, current regional price, and availability: a Quest 3 or 3S guide does not establish compatibility with every older headset.
How to choose a Meta Quest game
Start with the experience you want, rather than treating a single “best” label as universal. Campaign-focused games reward time spent in a story; rhythm and multiplayer games are easier to revisit in shorter sessions. Also consider how much movement you want, whether you enjoy horror, and whether you want to play alone or with others.
- For a story-led adventure: Batman: Arkham Shadow, Asgard’s Wrath 2, or Assassin’s Creed Nexus.
- For active or repeatable play: Beat Saber, Vail, or Arizona Sunshine 2.
- For horror: Resident Evil 4 VR or The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners.
- For a calmer task-based game or social play: PowerWash Simulator VR or Rec Room.
Meta’s official storefront is useful for checking listings and current compatibility, but its catalog is a changing browse surface rather than an independent top-ten ranking.

10 Meta Quest games worth considering
1. Batman: Arkham Shadow — story-led action adventure
Choose this if you want a superhero adventure built around a recognizable character and a campaign-style experience. Tom’s Guide names it its best overall pick for the Meta Horizon Store. That is an editorial judgment, not a universal rating or a claim that it suits every player.
2. Beat Saber — rhythm and active play
Beat Saber is a natural fit if you want to swing to music and return for repeatable sessions rather than follow a traditional adventure. Meta classifies it as arcade, action, and rhythm, and its English-language UK storefront showed a 4.5 rating from 53K ratings when accessed in 2026. The same listing displayed a top-seller label; both are storefront signals, not comparative review scores.

- Can be redeemed on over 500 apps, games and experiences in the Meta Quest store.
- The perfect last minute gift so they can choose their own adventure—there are VR experiences to suit everyone.
3. Asgard’s Wrath 2 — a large action RPG
For players who want a substantial fantasy action-RPG, Asgard’s Wrath 2 is one of PCGamesN’s Quest 3 and 3S recommendations. Expect a more involved adventure than a quick party or rhythm game. Check the current store listing for supported headsets and availability before purchasing.
4. Resident Evil 4 VR — survival horror
Resident Evil 4 VR combines survival action with a horror setting, making it a strong candidate for players who want tension as well as combat. It appears in both Tom’s Guide’s and PCGamesN’s Quest selections. Its horror intensity makes it a less obvious choice for anyone looking for a relaxed first VR game.

- Be anyone you want: Custom avatar importing enables you to play through the game looking however you want, with physical stats to match.
- Layered Narrative: After discovering an underground lab in MythOS city, you will have access to a variety of game locations including arenas, obstacle courses, tactical trials, sandboxes, experimental modes, and user generated levels. Collecting items, avatars, and clues from these locations enable you to progress through the mysterious story.
5. Arizona Sunshine 2 — zombie shooter and co-op
Arizona Sunshine 2 suits players drawn to zombie combat and cooperative play. PCGamesN includes it among its Quest recommendations. If playing with someone else is the main draw, confirm the current game listing’s multiplayer details and the modes available to your group.
6. Assassin’s Creed Nexus — stealth and franchise adventure
Pick Assassin’s Creed Nexus if stealth and action in a familiar game universe appeal more than rhythm play or open social spaces. It is included in PCGamesN’s Quest list, making it a story-and-franchise-oriented alternative among the shooters and horror games here.

- Experience the World of Batman Like Never Before: Immerse yourself in all the grit of Gotham City with the power of VR, and take down its most notorious criminals.
- Hard-Hitting Arkham Combat: Made exclusively for VR—choose from fan favorite gadgets and bold fighting styles.
- Friends, Foes and Other Familiar Faces: Meet Dr. Quinzel and Dr. Crane before they became Harley Quinn and The Scarecrow, as well as other iconic characters including Harvey Dent, Ratcatcher, and Jim Gordon.
7. PowerWash Simulator VR — relaxed task-based simulation
PowerWash Simulator VR offers a different pace: the appeal is completing cleaning tasks rather than fighting enemies or competing for a score. PCGamesN includes it in its Quest guide. Consider it if you want a more methodical simulation, while keeping in mind that VR tasks still involve physical movement.
8. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners — survival horror
This is another survival-horror option, listed by PCGamesN. Choose it for a darker, survival-focused experience rather than a light social game. Players who are sensitive to horror should check gameplay and content details before buying.

9. Vail — competitive multiplayer shooting
Vail is the pick for players who want competitive online shooting. Tom’s Guide identifies it as its best multiplayer shooter choice. Its appeal depends more on multiplayer than a solo campaign, so it is best suited to players who actively want competitive matches.
10. Rec Room — social and user-created experiences
Rec Room centers on social play and experiences made by users, offering a different kind of session from a fixed single-player campaign. Tom’s Guide describes it as free to play with optional paid experiences; check the current listing for the terms in your region, since pricing and availability can change.

The comparison describes the broad use case, not a substitute for checking a game’s current store page. Supported headset models, regional prices, ratings, bundles, and availability can change. Meta’s Beat Saber listing, for example, is a dated UK storefront snapshot rather than a promise of the same rating or price elsewhere.
Check headset compatibility and price before buying
Quest recommendation guides can cover a particular generation without proving support for every Quest headset. Open the individual game listing in Meta’s store and confirm that it supports your exact model. Check the price shown for your region, too; editorial guides and other countries’ storefronts may not reflect what you will pay. The live catalog and individual listings are the right place to verify these changing details.
If you do not yet own a headset, Quest 3 and Quest 3S are mentioned in current Quest game guides, but the recommendations above are not a comparison of headset models. Choose a headset based on the games you intend to play and verify each title’s compatibility before committing.
