If you want to take control of enemies in a game, Dishonored and Control are the clearest matches: one lets you briefly possess people or animals, while the other lets its protagonist seize enemies during combat. Other games often appear in mind-control recommendations, but the mechanic can mean anything from direct possession to influencing an enemy’s behavior. This is a curated shortlist, not a definitive ranking; the distinctions below should help you find the kind of control you actually want.
What counts as a mind-control power?
Games use the phrase for several different mechanics. Direct possession puts you in control of a target; temporary enemy control lets you take over an opponent for a limited time; and behavioral manipulation changes what an enemy does without giving you direct control. Telekinesis alone—moving objects with the mind—does not qualify.

That difference matters when choosing a game. If you want to inhabit a character or animal and move through the world as it, look for possession. If you want to turn an enemy into a temporary combat asset, look for enemy seizure or behavioral influence. In some games the power is a defining tool; in others, it is only one option among many.
10 games to consider
1. Dishonored
Dishonored is the strongest pick here for direct possession. Its Possession power lets the player take control of a person or animal briefly, making it useful for stealth and navigation rather than simply turning a target into a fighter. PC Gamer notes that the power lasts only a few seconds and that you cannot attack while possessing a target, so it is a constrained tool, not unrestricted control. PC Gamer’s Dishonored review describes the ability and its limits.

Bethesda describes the game as a stealth action-adventure built around supernatural powers and choices that affect story outcomes. The official Dishonored page covers the game, while Bethesda says the Definitive Edition includes remastered graphics and all DLC. Choose this if you want possession woven into a stealth-focused game, rather than a power centered on combat domination.
2. Control
Control is the clearest recommendation for taking over enemies in a supernatural action-adventure. Jesse Faden’s Seize ability lets her take control of enemies; it is one combat option alongside powers such as Launch and Levitate, rather than the whole game. Xbox Wire’s Control tips, published August 27, 2019, describes Seize and suggests combining abilities with the Service Weapon.

BioShock: The Collection appears in a mind-control game recommendation list, but the available listing does not establish which specific power or game in the collection makes it a fit. Treat it as a candidate to investigate rather than a confirmed possession recommendation. Gameforge lists the collection for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch; check the current edition and platform listing before buying. Gameforge’s mind-control games list provides those platform labels.

4. Star Wars: Jedi Knight – Jedi Academy
Jedi Academy is another title included in Gameforge’s mind-control recommendations. That listing does not specify which Force ability, version, or gameplay situation it has in mind, so it is best treated as a lead if you are looking for a Star Wars game with powers that affect opponents—not as a verified direct-possession pick. See Gameforge’s list and confirm the edition and mechanics for the version you plan to play.
5. Second Sight
Second Sight appears on the same recommendation list, but the listing does not document a particular control ability or establish current platform availability. It may be worth exploring if you are seeking a game associated with psychic powers, but verify the specific mechanic and whether the version you can access includes what you want. Gameforge lists Second Sight among its candidates.

6. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is also named by Gameforge as a mind-control game. The recommendation does not clarify which ability qualifies or what platforms are currently available, so it is not possible to promise a particular kind of control based on that listing alone. If the title interests you, confirm both the mechanic and access options for your region before making plans to play. Gameforge’s recommendation list is the cited lead.
7. Warframe
A player discussion recommends Warframe for Nyx’s mind-affecting powers, while also warning that abilities have changed. That makes it a promising candidate if you want powers that influence enemies, but it is not enough to establish how Nyx behaves in the current version or whether the ability directly controls a target. Check current in-game descriptions before choosing it specifically for mind control. The suggestion comes from a player discussion about games with enemy mind control.

8. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
A player in the same discussion recommends Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor for turning Orcs into allies. That points toward influencing enemies and recruiting them, rather than necessarily controlling a target directly at every moment. The comment is a community suggestion, not detailed documentation of the mechanic or current platform and edition availability. See the player discussion and verify the version you can access.
9. Destroy All Humans!
Destroy All Humans! appears in Gameforge’s mind-control recommendations and is also suggested by a player discussing enemy mind control. Those references make it a relevant candidate, but they do not establish the exact power, its scope, or which edition is meant. Check the specific game and version before buying if direct possession is essential to you. The title appears in Gameforge’s list and the player discussion.
10. A second look at the kind of control you want
The remaining recommendations are less firmly documented than the two strongest matches, so use the mechanic—not just the label—to narrow your search. The source list does not establish enough detail to confidently assign another candidate a particular kind of control. If direct possession is the requirement, Dishonored has the clearest documented fit; if taking over enemies during combat is enough, Control is the clearest match. For other candidates above, confirm the actual ability in the edition you can play.

How to choose between these games
| What you want | Best-supported fit | What the power does |
|---|---|---|
| Briefly inhabit a person or animal | Dishonored | Possession gives temporary control, with constraints including no attacking while possessing a target. |
| Take over an enemy in a fight | Control | Seize lets Jesse take control of enemies as one ability in a broader combat toolkit. |
| Explore other mind-control recommendations | BioShock: The Collection, Jedi Academy, Second Sight, Psi-Ops, Warframe, Shadow of Mordor, or Destroy All Humans! | The cited lists and player suggestions identify these candidates but do not establish enough detail here to guarantee a specific control mechanic. |
If the distinction between direct control and influence is important, prioritize games whose official or detailed gameplay descriptions explicitly say what the ability lets you do. Recommendation lists can surface promising titles, but they may use “mind control” loosely.
