For a balanced FM24 shortlist across positions, start with Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Paul Wanner, Youssoufa Moukoko, Assan Ouédraogo, Noah Darvich, Karim Adeyemi, Malick Thiaw, Noah Atubolu and Tom Bischof. This is an editorial ranking of German prospects in Football Manager 2024—not an official Sports Interactive list—and the best signing for your save depends on position, budget and database version.
How this FM24 ranking works
Wonderkid lists use different cutoffs. Sortitoutsi describes a wonderkid as an under-21 player with high potential ability, while FMInside’s German FM24 list uses age 21 or younger, German nationality and potential ability of at least 150 or -8. Those are publisher criteria, not an official FM24 definition. This ranking weighs the breadth of the shortlist and the usefulness of its players across positions rather than claiming a precise, universal measure of potential.

The club and position labels below are from Sortitoutsi’s FM24 database list; they describe the game database, not necessarily each player’s current real-world club. Its retrieved table includes estimated value and cost fields, but the rating and potential cells are blank, so no exact ability, potential or transfer-price figures are assigned here. Values and contracts can also depend on the database update used for a save.

The 10 best German wonderkids in FM24
| Rank | Player | FM24 position | Starting club in the cited FM24 list | Why consider them |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jamal Musiala | AM RLC | Bayern | Versatile attacking-midfield benchmark for a team seeking a creator who can operate across the line. |
| 2 | Florian Wirtz | AM RLC | Bayer Leverkusen | A flexible creative option through the centre or attacking-midfield line. |
| 3 | Paul Wanner | AM RC | Elversberg | A younger development pick for managers building an attacking midfielder over time. |
| 4 | Youssoufa Moukoko | ST | Borussia Dortmund | A central-forward option if your squad needs a young striker rather than another creator. |
| 5 | Assan Ouédraogo | AM LC | Schalke 04 | A left-sided attacking-midfield choice that broadens the shortlist beyond central roles. |
| 6 | Noah Darvich | AM RLC | Barça Atlètic | A versatile attacking-midfield prospect; FourFourTwo also includes him in its broader FM24 wonderkid guide. |
| 7 | Karim Adeyemi | AM RL, ST | Borussia Dortmund | A wide or forward option for managers seeking an alternative to a central striker. |
| 8 | Malick Thiaw | D C | Milan | The centre-back on this list, useful when the squad’s need is defensive rather than attacking. |
| 9 | Noah Atubolu | GK | Freiburg | The goalkeeper pick, giving the list an option for a long-term plan between the posts. |
| 10 | Tom Bischof | DM, AM C | Hoffenheim | A central or deeper-midfield option for a manager who wants to develop that area of the squad. |
Who should you sign for your squad?
Use the list as a role-based shortlist, not a promise that every player will be affordable or develop identically in every save. Check the player’s in-game profile, contract and asking price in your own database before making a move.
#1 Best Overall
- Need an attacking creator: compare Musiala and Wirtz, then consider Wanner or Darvich if you want a development-focused option.
- Need a striker or wide forward: Moukoko is listed as a striker; Adeyemi covers wide attacking roles and striker.
- Need to strengthen elsewhere: Thiaw is the centre-back choice, Atubolu the goalkeeper, while Ouédraogo and Bischof add left-sided attacking-midfield and central/deep-midfield options.
For a budget-conscious signing, do not assume that a player’s inclusion makes them cheap. The cited database page presents estimated value and cost fields, but those figures are version-sensitive and are not reproduced here; the actual fee available in your save can differ.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the ranking can—and cannot—tell you
The selection has cross-source support: Sortitoutsi lists all ten, and FourFourTwo’s wider guide independently includes Musiala, Wirtz, Wanner and Darvich. That supports treating them as candidates, not this particular order as a verified numerical ranking. FMInside’s threshold is another useful filter, but it is that site’s method rather than a game rule.
Rank #2
- An advanced strategy board game for 1 to 4 players.
- Become the manager of a soccer club and lead it to victory.
- A Multi-layered business simulation in the world of sport.
- Acquire and train players, hire doctors, trainers, and other sports professionals then develop your stadium, attract sponsors, and play matches against other teams.
- Several paths to victory.
FM24 potential ability is a game-database assessment, not a guarantee of real-world performance or of a particular outcome in your save. FourFourTwo discusses winter and March database updates, so exact player data should be checked against the update your save uses. Bundesliga coverage can provide real-world youth-football context, but it does not establish FM24 ratings.
