Open-world and action-adventure games
Ghost of Yōtei
Sucker Punch’s action adventure is set around Mount Yōtei in 1603 and stars Atsu. The preview presented it as a follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, set more than 300 years after Jin Sakai’s story.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Set in Sengoku-era Japan, Ubisoft’s action adventure features two playable characters: shinobi Naoe and samurai Yasuke. The preview emphasized their contrasting approaches to stealth and combat. At the time, its announced release date was March 20, 2025.
Hell Is Us
This third-person action adventure places its story amid civil war and a mysterious catastrophe. Its preview described exploration without a map, making navigation and discovery central to the experience.

Action RPGs and combat-focused adventures
Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom’s action RPG features a changing ecosystem, a mount called Seikret, and 14 weapon types. The preview listed February 28, 2025 as its planned release date.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Goro Majima takes the lead in this pirate adventure. The preview called out ship upgrades, recruiting a crew, naval cannon battles, and real-time combat; its announced release date was February 21, 2025.

Hideo Kojima’s sequel brings back Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges. The preview focused on connecting isolated survivors while crossing difficult terrain and transporting resources.

The horror adventure follows Low and Alone, each equipped with a different tool. The preview noted online co-op as a first for the series.
Forever Skies

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
The tenth game in PlayStation Blog’s selection was the latest entry in the Civilization strategy series. The preview identified it as the seventh mainline game bearing Sid Meier’s name in its title.

How to interpret the preview’s release dates
The original article supplied planned dates for three games: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 21, Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows on March 20, all in 2025. Those were the dates announced in December 2024. They should not be treated as a complete or definitive record of final release dates; PlayStation’s later 2025 announcement roundups show that schedules and release information continued to develop. The preview did not establish each title’s final launch status or regional physical-edition availability.
